I think they said they are done revealing romances and have moved on to revealing other things about the game

Regarding an earlier comment about Bethany, I'd like to point out she was 'very' interested in learning about Isabella's....exploits....with women, and later her relationship with the mage girl that we rescue from crazy-Anders in act 2 (assuming we send her back to the circle) could easily be interpreted as something other than just friendship, if one were so inclined (I know I sure am)
. So I'm going to go with Bethany as either lesbian or bisexual also.

She's at least bi since she showed sexual attraction to Sebastian.
Also, no offense, but uh.....what does that have to do with Dragon Age: Inquisition and its romances?

Makes sense to me. Got to keep some secrets for launch.

Since Elite Pinecone (rightfully so) told us to move this discussion to an appropriate thread, here I go.
We can assume the unrevealed romance options are Vivienne and either Blackwall or Solas .
I think it's Blackwall. It would be odd if Sheryl Chee didn't write a romance since historically she has written a romance in every single DA game.

Has it been totally confirmed that the remaining romances are companions? I mean... I'd give it 99% odds, but... just wondering for posterity's sake. >_>

Yup.
There is an option to flirt with non-companion(and advisor) NPCs, but no romance.

Eh, I wouldn't place too much stock in that. In other games Sheryl has written more characters that it made sense to be romanceable. Sheryl isn't going to write a romance just because. They get assigned characters long before they have ideas of who is gonna do romances, and maybe they decided that it didn't make sense to write a romance for Blackwall.

I really hope they confirm the race-gated romances before the game releaes. I am not going through 50 hours of the game just to find out Cassandra is a racist.

There's no guarantee on Vivienne, since we've been warned that the choices, numerically, may not be equal. Solas' VA did make that accursedly ambiguous tweet, Mary Kirby referred obliquely to a potential LI, and there was a DG tweet about Blackwall being more about liniments and comfortable shoes than sexy times (seasoned liberally with sarcasm.)
It could go any way really. Hopefully, they'll announce something soon so those of us waiting on the edges of our seats can either rejoice or make alternate plans. I'm pretty shallow for saying this, but if I find out 2 days before launch that Blackwall is friend zoned, I probably won't even open the box for a week.

Race-gated romances≠those characters being racists. :/ Unless thats not what you were saying, in which case never mind

Actually, I beg to differ! Let's take the race-gated logic and put it in real life terms.
Cassandra refuses to love an Inquisitor because he is a qunari. ....Okay. Now let's swap it out with something else.
Cassandra refuses to love an Inquisitor because he is black/Asian/etc.
How is that NOT racism?

Because ethnicities in real life aren't other races;we're all part of the human race, and its up to an individual's preferences whether they find someone attractive or not based on character, physical appearance, etc etc.
In Dragon Age, same goes. While not of the same race, its simply a matter of nature;if one doesn't find someone or anyone of a particular other race attractive, that is just natural. It doesn't have to be, "I hate so and so because different race". It very well can be, "I simply don't find this particular race attractive".
A better real life comparison could be made if there was a race similar to humans living on Earth we could compare to. We can't. And I'm not gonna make some mental comparison like, "Why aren't humans attracted to chimps?"
The closest comparison I can make to real life is one where I'll use myself-
I am a heterosexual man;am I a sexist for not finding human males attractive? Nope;it's just natural. Same goes in DA;it is very likely an individual simply cannot find anyone of another race attractive, and that is not a problem, its merely a fact of life there.
Basically, the DA scenario is not that comparable to the world in which we live in. Too many things are different, society wise, race wise, etc etc. Any comparisons made would be a stretch, like the one I just made.

Except race and sexuality are not the same things, and be careful when using the word natural. I read it initially as being heterosexual was natural thus being homosexual or pan as unnatural/wrong. I agree with Chronoid, comparing elves to chimps in our world is really not the best comparison. However, having them as races like ours is as close as we can get. Just because the world in the game is a fantasy one, doesn't mean there are not parallels to ours. Those cannot be ignored.Because ethnicities in real life aren't other races;we're all part of the human race, and its up to an individual's preferences whether they find someone attractive or not based on character, physical appearance, etc etc.

Also saying you don't think black or white or Asian people (etc) attractive sexually is racist. It's assuming every single one of them looks the same, and thusly you would not even fathom getting closer to one.

Man, you read everything I typed up incorrectly, hahaha. Damn.
*Not saying race and sexuality are the same thing
*Not saying hetero is natural and everything else isn't(where did you get that from? Like whaaa?)
*Of course elves aren't chimps, I said I would avoid making such a nonsensical comparison
*And at no point did I say everyone of a particular ethnicity looks the same

physical attraction plays a huge part in romantic affection. Not everybody finds every race attractive. Some people will prefer the aesthetics of one race to the aesthetics of another. Racism is more discrimination based on race rather than anything else. Perhaps Cassandra just has no physical interest in qunari/dwarves/elves. She would only be racist if she refuses to romance because of what they are rather than what their appearance is. Lets be honest there are some very apparent visual differences between races.

I agree with all the points LPPrince made, but also If Vivienne romance is race gated, It may not be just because of her being racist or physical attraction but because of much more complicated reasons.
Let me explain: She might not be with an elf/qunari/dwarf because of Orelsian status and politics. Is that just another form of racism? That's a question to think about.

I think it was a misinterpreting of your saying hetersexual man not finding another man sexually attractive is natural.
I got what you were going with though. so to make it easier for him
A homosexual man not finding a female sexually attractive is not sexist but a natural perception for said homosexual to have.

Yeah, I figured. I had a couple likes on my post so I figured people understood where I was going with it and then got that post assuming a bunch of opposites and I had a legit ![]()
