Actually, I beg to differ!  Let's take the race-gated logic and put it in real life terms. 

 

Cassandra refuses to love an Inquisitor because he is a qunari. ....Okay.  Now let's swap it out with something else.

How is that NOT racism?

 

Is it racism if someone is more attracted to black people than asian people?

 

To use a more extreme allegory, is not being attracted to men as a woman sexism...or is it simply a preferance?

 

as LPPrince said, people are attracted to different physical features, among those is race.It doesn't mean someone is racist.

It'd probably be more accurate to compare it to women not wanting to be in a relationship with a guy much shorter than them which is very normal.  Or you can turn it around and say a guy who doesn't want to be in a relationship with someone much taller than them.

Oh no, I understood that part, hence why I said initially, I was just making a note of it. And perchance I wrote my response poorly, I was agreeing with LP saying using chimps to people was a bad comparison.

But I did disagree with you saying that not liking elves isn't the same thing as not liking black people. Because I think it's the closest thing we have to that in our world. Thusly it is racist to not like elves at all, as well as black people as I stated in my previous post as example.

Just a disclaimer, if anyone finds posts about race-gated romance and parallels with the real world offensive or inappropriate for this thread, I'll stop.

 

What if someone is just more attracted to people who are taller and have round ears (humans), and simply find the elven body structure less attractive than human one?How is that related to hate, it's just related to sexual preference.

True enough, but despite what we've seen I still like to think all elves have different body types instead of all being the same. Also it's shown elves we just as talk as humans in inquisition, however these are semantics so I won't press too much on them.

I just have a large problem with generalizations of races or persons. And yes, even with your example that's really kinda shitty to just say nope nope nope to a whole group of people because of one feature or so. Like I said, everyone in a race is not the same, therefor it's wrong to look at a few and say yep, I don't think Asian or white people are attractive, they got weird eyes or noses, I don't like that kind of eye/nose.

However this seems to be a thing that will continue to be debated, I'm not saying you can't think only tall people are hot or you only think people with hook noses are cute, that's FINE. But saying you don't like dwarves because they are all short isn't cool.
