Counting upgrades and passives, there were 270 spells and talents in DA2 - unless there were some short talent trees, but my quick check it seemed like they were all 10 long. But Mr Laidlaw says "200" is more than previous games, so I guess he wasn't counting upgrades or something. Or there was a mistake.
But overall that video made me more positive than the short game play section we saw yesterday. There was at least more sign of my preferred playstyle.
Though the over the shoulder camera still bugs me, because it's really pretty awful for keeping track of your party. If you're designing your game around it, then it seems like that is going to limit how tactical you can make the game

Im assuming these spells actually differentiate much more than the previous games, especially with the ability to add more animations for different spells and skills
English is not my first language.
Then, it is over 200 spells or it is over 200 spells and talents?
I was planning to play a mage for my first playthrough, and after seeing it in action in the demo, I have no regrets. The spells look absolutely fantastic.
Mother of god. Be right back, I just soiled my pants.

Spells and talents, i misheard the first time i watched it.
Iron Bull is kickin *ss in that video. I'm glad they used the female Qunari Inquisitor for the demo. Really showcasing the new things about this game.
Ugh, is it October yet?

Well, upgrades made up for half of those 270, so if we're not counting them, it'd like 50% more, which is a lot, specially since we still have only three specializations. I'd love that, I love to experiment with all kind of wierd builds ![]()
I gotta say, I really love all of the information we have access to during battle (hit points, defenses, status effects) and so on. I like seeing them pop up like they do.
Somebody with twitter should tweet a question at a dev asking for clarification about the upgrades/abilities number. I'd like to know whether Mike meant 200 including upgrades or not...or specializations.
I liked that Mike and Mark mentioned that you could have only one companion left to use at the end. If I'm wrong, someone correct me. For me, that is cool. I like doing the worst playthroughs possible.
Quick question: when they were talking about the camera, did he mention if we could zoom out while in the ''normal'' camera (not tactical)? I found the characters were to zoomed in for my liking.

Yeah, looks like you can literally ****** off your companions so much they will just say "screw you guys, I'm going home"

No no, you are not wrong. They said it is possible to only have one companion left at the end, but you have to try really hard and be a douche to everyone.
While I'm not going to kick out every one of my companions from the Inquisition, it's nice to know that they can leave you. This possibility makes the first playthrough, where you're basically going in blind, much more exciting.
Spells and talents, i misheard the first time i watched it.
Thank you.
I hope for my favorites back and new ones ![]()
What I am the most pleased with is after watching this my biggest issue with the game seems to be the UI, for it looks out of place compared to everything else in the game. Everything else I might have questions about can only be answered when I get my hands on the game itself.
I think the game looks kinda awesome.
*gets on the hype train*
Neutral option on the dialogue wheel? Praise the maker.
Console controller compatible with PC, perhaps for the very first time in Bio-history? Oh maker, stop it!

Jade Empire had controller support I believe
(though some hassle for modern controllers, it seems)
Even in low-res I can tell it's levels above the prequels. Looks gorgeous.

It did, but I don't consider it to be the same level of support that modern games get for you had to do all the mapping and such unlike the new games where the game will map exactly the same as an Xbox 360 controller. I could mimic that level of support with an external program if I wanted to use a controller with older BioWare games.
The question is can we use K+M with the PC UI on console? I assume no but it would be very nice if we could.
@Chris2365 I would assume it will work like DAO. You can Zoom it in and out at will to varying degrees at will.
Thanks, turns out you were right. Found this quote from David Gaider confirming it:

My guess is this camera angle was chosen to give you a better view of the Inquisitor. I'm sure you can zoom in & out like in the previous two games.
You can. As they said, you can move the camera around, and it retains the angle you've chosen... in fact, we've shown gameplay using a "higher-up" camera angle before.
