Ok so my criticisms are.

1: Her arms are too small

2: Not a fan of the paint

3: her mouth should be wider and the paint just makes that look worse

4: her hair texture seems a bit, meh but that might be improved like sera's was.

Other than that she looks great.

What goes around... There's nothing constructive about you people coming to the thread saying "she doesn't look female enough", implying that femininity is a very narrow concept defined exclusively by you. You said it yourself:

And then you tried to change the subject and play the victim card:

It's not all and it's just not what you're saying. And no, it's not an opinion, it's a misconception. There were plenty constructive thoughts on the topic in this thread, but you people just can't seem to get it. So there.

I didn't say "she doesn't look female enough" i said she looks like a space marine. Sorry I do not own the universal concept of femininity, it's just my opinion. deal with it.

"victim card" what? Man, chill out. If you like female qunari so much why don't you organize a fun club or something. I don't like her so I voiced my opinion.

"And no, it's not an opinion, it's a misconception" Yeah Right, everyone who doesn't share my opinion is wrong.

"There were plenty constructive thoughts on the topic" It seems you forgot about them when you wrote your first post.

Oh come on, the latin name for our species is blocked?

That actually made me laugh, thanks. )) **** Sapiens indeed. ))

And not a female. We're done here, as you clearly just don't know what you're actually saying.

Because no one cares if she gave you a hard-on or not. Try giving some constructive criticism.

It does not matter because she's not a character. just a string of numbers in a character creator.

This applies to every character.
If its not the female Qunari PC people are criticising, it will be a female Qunari NPC, or Cassandra, or Vivienne, or Sera, or any other character in any other game.

No it does not. Lets take Iron Bull, he's going to look like Iron Bull for everyone. The PC is going to be down to the players whims and nothing more.

That's why this is pointless, it's not like anyone loses either way.

And what the quality of the design has to do with this? We've seen female qunari before (art, comic). People are just saying they don't like how this particular female qunari looks in the game for them, "she is not attractive, I don't like her." thats all. It's their opinion. If you have other values - fine, thats your opinion based on your personal vision. You are not going to persuade someone in the Internet that their vision is wrong, aren't you?

I can at least *try* to change attitudes, even if failure is likely.

It does.

If people can manage to give constructive criticism of the demo's female Qunari's appearance, then hopefully they can extend this to giving constructive criticism of Cassandra's appearance, or Vivienne's appearance, or Sera's appearance.

Being able to say more than just "she's not attractive" when asked your opinion is very useful.

By looking like a 'space marine' what exactly do you mean? That she looks like a tough soldier?

Might that be because she *is* a tough soldier?

No she has no existence beyond being a string of numbers, she won't ever appear in anyones game unless they copy her appearance.

I'll be creating my own version of the FemQunari which you will likely never see.

You're not understanding me.

It is not just about the female Qunari used in the demo.

It is about being able to judge any type of character by more than how bangable they are.

So, lets try it with the female Qunari used in the demo as an example:

How are her horns?

Do you like the mesh & texture?
Answer:
Do you like that you can customise them?
Answer:
Do you prefer the big horns or stubby horns?
Answer:
How about her skin tone?
Do you think it renders well?
Answer:
Do you like the colour?
Answer:
Would you prefer Sten's bronze colour?
Answer:
How about her facial paints?
Do you think they look fierce or goofy?
Answer:
Do you like the colour used?
Answer:
Would you have your own Qunari painted or un-painted?
Answer:
How is her hair?
Do you like that its white or would your rather have another colour?
Answer:
Would you like longer hairstyles or are you happy with her shorter one?
Answer:
How about her armour?
Do you think it looks nice or do you think its too bulky, or not bulky enough?
Answer:
Would you use that armour in-game?
Answer:

Go ahead, I'll try to post my own answers shortly.

Good for you guys who feel happy for Qunari female not looking the typical horned sex-mistress we usually see. Still, I'd like to see some typical horned sex-mistress Qunari women in game though.  :D

As long as we also have some typical horned sex-master Qunari men in game as well, then that'll be fine :P

People are criticizing them because they look bad in in comparison with other  female characters like Morrigan, Leliana, Isabela (Liara, Lara Croft, Catwoman, Alyx Vance, Ada Wong etc) There is nothing bad about that. It's just a signal for the market.

Might that be because she *is* a tough soldier?

But..but she is a mage.

Well, to be honest, I think those lips are enormous and a bit distracting. I dislike Vivienne's face altogether, but maybe it is just the lips that are ruining it for me...

You never seen an African before, have you?

Slightly pedantic but true, allot of people of African decent do have big lips though so it's really not odd that Viv does. My ex had really big lips.

But..but she is a mage.

All male mages in DA are ripped to the point their biceps is bigger than their head. Waving that staff all day is apparently pretty damn good physical workout.

No reason why female mage can't be the same.

The focus of the term Africans are the darker brown skinned individuals that make up that content which ,if you look out the definition of the word, implies. And the majority of Africans have lip close to or at the same size as Vivi's.

A mage whose job it is to fight for days on end against endless hordes of demons.

Besides, it's not like they are raining fireballs on the demons fro ma protected position: they are literally fighting within the hordes, nearly as close as the warriors. And they are still attacked as much, more so if they are tactical. They need physical endurance.

I did, plenty of them at my university, but I guess I never noticed it IRL, or maybe Vivianne's lips are just overinflated to the point of being really distracting ;)
