By which you mean: things exactly like human females so I would consider them attractive and feminine and pretty. And it's your opinion. Sounds... reasonable. Okay.

In a way it is normal to be attracted to something that is similar to you. That's why a white guy might not always find a black woman appealing - cause he grew up with other images in his head. But this is a fantasy game and the Qunari are a totally different race. They shouldn't have big boobs or Miranda-like faces given their background. I'm sure there will be elves or humans that can fill in the sexy spot that some gamers want to see.

Also, I want to point out that I am a girl, and I do like attractive females in games. That's why most of my characters are not something to run away from. xD But I would also play with a Qunari fem any time, given the fact that it's unique and different.

Since it's a fantasy, you'd have no problem with all the male characters looking like this

tumblr_m21cbvBCCQ1rrezdio1_500_zpse2686f

Don't worry, I'm sure you will eventually be able to mod your imaginary girlfriend to look just like a porn star and go into battle completely naked.

We are not talking about all male characters. We are talking about one character which the player has full control over the appearance. If playing a guy that looks like that makes you happy, then go for it.

People are arguing this like we have fixed JRPG type protags and we don't. Each player is free to do what they want with their in game persona.

That's the problem, it's ONE character who looks like a fighter and not a lingerie model (one that you can customize at that) and people are flipping their **** because she's not "bangable."

Oh she's quite bangable.  Most people don't want to invest in the leather straps, muzzle, crowbar and branding iron it requires to have a proper romance with a qunari.  Snu-Snu is the leading cause of death in parts of the Qun.

How about you don't try defining what "mannish" means to some, and I won't try to define what "bimbo" means to you.

I know what I'm saying, thank you. I'm also not defining what people should like, but expressing disbelief in something I don't understand. If you can't bear to look at it, well, sorry, apply your own logic that this is a place for discussion and let opinions fly.

Personally, I think Fem!Qunquisitor looks better than Aveline. And there were few people interested in her...

No it's not even a character. It's a possible appearance for the Qunari PC nothing more than that. If you want to make yours look like that, then you can.

I would have romanced her or Varric over any of the actual LIs, they were the only normal ones in the bunch ^_^

I wouldn't call Varric "normal", but I admit I was both squeaking in laughter like some stereotypical teenager girl aswell as disappointed I couldn't pull through the romance during Aveline's love confession quest.

Though in that case it was specifically her mannish demeanor that sparked my interested.

I want to make something like that.WoW Draenei

The qunari really just... don't have that svelte elf-typical body and facial structure.  I mean, others are more than welcome to make their Inquisitor look whatever but I find something a bit unsettling about making a qunari look like a Desire Demon or anime succubus.

I agree 100% I mean just look at the Arishok there, if the males look like that, why would the females look like an anime Barbie? Human and Elf women already look like that :/

It's far from unusual that males and females of the same species can look significantly different. And since so many are keen on saying the qunari are an own species, there's no reason to hold them to the same standard as humans who just happen to be one of the species in our world that have few superficial difference between males and females.

I don't see a lot of people flipping out because she doesn't look like a model. It seems the anger and flipping out is coming from people who cannot fathom that if someone doesn't want a bulky female, it must mean that they want a swimsuit model.

Personally, I find her a bit mannish myself and I am in no way using that as an insult. I am using it as an adjective based on what mannish means to me. However, I think she is fine suited for a femqun. Personally, I like my PC not too tall and pretty slim. I do make them attractive according to what I deem as attractive, as I don't care what anyone else's vision of beauty is. Also, good thing I don't care, considering every time I look on a thread about female characters, someone is insulting small framed women as being weak or overtly sexual.

Of course. And I like "conventionally" feminine beauty myself, love it, I'm happilly married to a conventionally pretty woman. )) And I do understand the desire to find someone of your own kind. What I don't understand and cannot approve of is the notion that everyone should be pretty in a conventional sense of the word (and in the game), because... wait for it... because it's a fantasy game. (And if they're not, they're ugly and somehow masculine. It's frankly insulting for me as a male, you know? The irony of it.)

Especially when it's about a race of horned giants with males looking something like this:

The Qunari Fem mage Quzzie (Addar, Close enough) looks awesome and badass, I want to play the whole game with a character like her; I love her armor and yes I even like her chin tat, heaven forbid ;P.

The amount of people around here who get pissed off or upset because BioWare dared to make the female characters in this game not look like pinup barbie dolls is absolutely disgusting.

When Sera was reveled, so many people wanted to kill her or leave her out of the party forever because of her hair.

Every thread for the female characters has at least one person coming in and whining about how they're "ugly."

This thread has pages and pages of people complaining about the female Qunari they chose to showcase actually looking as strong and intimidating as her male counterparts (never mind that if they want to make one that has softer features they're completely within their power to)

Just. Stop.

I would just like to say thank you to BioWare for designing powerful female characters whose value to the game isn't measured solely by how overtly sexualized they are depicted.  As a female gamer, it means a lot to me to see my gender represented respectfully and with integrity.  Female characters with depth, intelligence, competence and meaningful involvement in a gripping story make me feel at home in the universes BioWare creates.

BioWare, you are moving gaming inclusivity forward in profound ways beyond just a fun gameplay experience.  Thank you for including people like me on that journey.

I've run out so I just wanted to "like" these here.

It's close, just look at the concept art. I prefer the purple colour but that's just aesthetics.

Well I knew it was a female Qunquisitor when I saw horns on a body not on loan from Conan the Barbarian. Since their are no Bishonen Qunari the more slender body dictates females, also their is a CC that allows you to go from Playboy Bunny to Brienne of Tarth(who is also a very attractive woman.) so be calm, you Qunari will look like you want it to look.

According to my (slightly revamped to look like DA2 Sten):  Women are priests, artisans, farmers or shopkeepers. None of them have any place in fighting.

I think someone forgot to tell our rather handsome (yes, women can be handsome without being masculine too!) Qunari Femquisitor! ;)

Seeing as she's a mage I guess she's not a follower of the Qun and grew up outside Qunari lands

Elves and dwarves are a totally different race, but they look very human.

Why wouldn't a qunari woman have large breasts or a Miranda like face?

Breasts are fat deposits. If a species has them, the larger the average size of the species, the larger the average size of the breast. What about Miranda's face is non-qunari? Symmetry, pale skin, blue eyes, large lips and forehead, square chin?
