Bit of trivia for draenei.

If they didn't have exclusive alliance shaman class till cataclysm, none would bother playing them, and for a lot of time had the worst representations because their racials are not good enough and blood elves had the spotlight. Only good for transmog show off and alts.

By the time horde pve got buffed to the sky with troll haste and orc berserking, draenei were still irrelevant. I expect a vast increase in representation for next expansion cause their racial is buffed live crazy for pve and it spiked in Pandaria too cause alliance racials are irrelevant for raiding. Goes to show how wowers actually care that Draenei is the sexiest race in the game. Bad racials = none bothers with you. :P

Then make an elf or human? No ones making you roll up a character from a race of buff horned giants.

I think you're taking what people are excited about way too personally. No one is saying characters can't be attractive it's just that so very often we're made to have them be attractive even if we want to play someone with a tougher look that people are happy we're getting the option to be big and buff.

It's been a pretty common complaint from female gamers for years. I would actually agree with that, I think the male human looks too bulky, Hawke was bulky enough and the Inquisitor looks to be even bulkier.  <_<

I can live with it though, I don't mind it on the Qunari coz it suits them better and my first character will be an elf anyway.

Can you not feed him? I think he's just going to keep coming back and whining as long as he gets attention for it.

Whining?

I'm just stating an opinion.

I still say it's face paint because if it's not paint some of the stuff they showed would be VERY painful

Not that I'm saying qunari aren't badass I'm just saying..that is a lot of needles to the face.

Well, we already have Dalish elves in DA tattooing bulk of their face. Face tattoos are also apparently very popular in Rivain, and between Chasinds. So I suspect if all of these can stand the pain, the Qunari can handle it, too ;)

It is completely possible that's just paint though, sure.

That's true. I still admittedly think it's more warpaint than tattoos but that's more because I vaguely remember facepaint being mentioned at some point by bioware in relation to these pictures. BUt I have a terrible memory for things they barely mentioned months and months ago.

Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am not calling anyone sexist or anything. I just like this design better so I defended it.

I was talking about body proportions, not clothing. I am also not brushing anyone with the same anything. I am just saying that those designs cater to men's desires more than women's. Sure, some women want to play sexy characters with massive breasts and next to no clothing and I have nothing against that but allot of women don't because that is in no way realistic.

So what makes you think you are qualified to speak on what women want?

The patterns Qunari wear on their bodies are supposedly done with paint instead of being tattoos so yeah, that's why I think it is just as possible your guess is better than mine and that's just paint.

Im loving it too, im really considering going Qunari Female (Usually I go Human female) for my 'main' persona. Though they remind me a lot like World of Warcrafts Dranei women. Not a bad thing, but i think bioware did that kind of look much better then Blizzard.

I'm qualified to say what I as a woman and the women I know want and that's to be portrayed as a person and a legitimate character rather than an object for men to oogle. If I'm playing a female warrior I want her to look like a warrior and to be well armored like the men (and any sane person) and built strong and tough. I don't want to play as a bikini model going around with a chainmail miniskirt, bared midriff, boob cup armor, and cleavage cutout.

I want her to look like a warrior

Scars all over, missing teeth from brawls, short or no hair at all so the enemy has nothing to grab onto?

Right, because "scars all over and missing teeth from brawls" is exactly what all male warrior characters in DA look like.

Thank gods for that Hawke Goes to the Dentist day 0 DLC.

Sure, why not? (well not the missing teeth, but males usually don't have missing teeth in games either) I have to wonder though why so may people complain about long hair when it comes to female warriors but not male warriors? No one was saying Khal Drogo or Geralt of Rivia were unrealistic because of their hair. Short, long and braided, ponytailed, half pulled back (like Geralt) one or more hair buns, (or simply a helmet) etc...all work (for men too).

Is there something wrong with pointing out that allot of women (but not all women) in the gaming community have been complaining about something for quite a while now? Do you disagree? I am not telling anybody that they should or shouldn't want anything and I never generalized anyone.

Aren't the Elves the most played races after humans though?

Yep. 20% of wow players play priests and druids, and Night Elf is the best healer race for alliance. Generally, dps classes play humans because it's a trend that started from pvp and alliance races don't have good racials for damage specs. Healers play night elves cause shadowmeld is very strong. Being a sexy elf is a bonus, but hardly relevant. You penalize yourself too much by picking others races for healers, especially if you want to do some pvp.

Technically right now, you have no reason to play anything else than human, night elf and worgen if you are a raiding dps warrior or fire mage. Draenei are inflated cause it's one of the two races that has the shaman class and they are better at raiding than dwarves (the vast majority of wow players are raiders). It's well reflected on the percentages. You can check it here

http://www.worldofwa...tition-0-0.html

The only race that is inflated due to looks while having the worst racials is Blood Elves. Since their release, other than being the only race having Paladin for horde till cataclysm, they've been consistently useless and very popular for their looks and in some extend the wow lore.

I think you'll be surprised to know that gnomes used to be all the rage back in Vanilla. They made the better casters due to increased intellect. Hordes have shed rivers of tears not being able to target them due to small frame. Of couse later they learned how to use the "next target" button, but it took some expansions to really master it ;p

The amount of transmisogyny present in this thread is astounding. I really don't know why I'm surprised though, because the instant a woman has any features that comes across as even remotely masculine, people go on saying she's got "extra equipment."

ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE, I'm totally stoked for my lady qunari playthrough now. I HAD planned on an elf first, but at this rate I might just bump up this playthrough idea into first place. THE CHIN TATS (paint???) ARE SO RAD I LOVE IT

Really glad they made the Female Qunari look like, well Female Ox-men, instead of Rail thin humans with horns on their head.

You may not be qualified to speak for all women but you certainly speak for me.  As a woman I too want them in games that wear proper armour and dont look like sodding barbie dolls. It seems mostly a 'guy thing' to want women dressed in insanely skimpy armor that doesnt protect them from anything and looking like a Supermodel despite having been through tons of battles and living in the mud from ages of adventuring.

Page 1. I won't repost it since it's a large image.

It's the internet, you can find questionable images of anything.
