But yeah, if they really wanted to save money on hiring voice actors, Dog's just sound effects, lol. Just sayin' is all ;x

Actually Dog is voiced by a real dog, or so I read when I was doing research on the voice actors.
I doubt that. Now wouldn't that just be plain cruel... if they had to make the "real dog" do the angry growls / sad whine noises?  <_<
Not to mention the sounds he makes when he gets hurt in combat.
They could probably get an actor dog to do it without cruelty, but it would be cruel to the players. I have enough trouble with the whimpers from the wolves and enemy Mabari. I wish games didn't always make me kill canines. ;)
I know exactly what you mean. I hate having to kill the animals. And dog trainers can make thier dogs "say" anything. NO cruelty.

I don't know, Shale the dwarf girl could be kinda fun. Conversationally.

Oghren, most likely.

But I'm cheering for Dog, I hope he doesn't get killed off, or forgotten :<

I second, third, whatever this. I kept Shale in my party permanently and my dwarf picked all the WE ARE GOING TO BE THE BESTEST FRIENDS dialogue options, lol. I would so love to have a kick ass female dwarf in my party. That would rule. Just imagine all the good put-downs that would be ready for the shameless flirters -- Zevran and Oghren.

Oghren is the only companion except for Morrigan who can't die in Dragon age.

And Oghren would be a fine companion. Personally we became the best of friends in my games and his was the speech at the end that choked me up the most.

I hope it is him as well but it just seems weird it wouldn't be Dog.  What happened to Dog?  Why wouldn't he come with you?

maybe he awnsered the call and went to orzammar to die fighting the darkspawn?:P

on the otherhand, i would love it to either have ser cauthrian or shale the pidgeon killing dwarf as the old favorite:wizard:

I think we should be looking at which characters stay in Ferelden as opposed to who can die

 • Shale and Wynne can leave Ferelden and travel to Tevinter to regain their humanity. (happy ending)... otherwise they are killed. But without DLC installed, Wynne becomes First Enchanter or a Court Advisor, thereby staying in Ferelden.
 • Morrigan leaves for Orlais.
 • We can opt to never free Sten, but we never see him die either. We don't know if he excaped or not. After he's in the party he can't be killed. Only leave. But in other epilogues he goes back to his homelands.
 • Alistair: he can be kicked out to be a wandering drunkard or executed. Like Sten, there's a small chance he even escaped as we don't see the event. In all endings he stays in Ferelden.
 • Leliana: In one ending, she goes back to Orlais, and only stays if you ask.
 • Zevran: He can leave the party if you ask, and in one ending he goes back to Antiva. If you romance him, it's implied he only stays in Ferelden for a time.
 • Oghren: Another permanent, unkillable resident of Ferelden. He can only leave the party, and in some happy endings he stays on to be the commander of the King's armies.
Along with the obvious candidate of dog... this narrows the permanent residents of Ferelden down to Oghren, Allistair, Wynne (without DLC) and Dog. Though I'm intrested in Sten staying alive personally.

Heh, tinfoil hat...

[*]Weird. You've forced automatic bullet points on me. ;)

[*]I think you have thr right of it, and the fact that we don't see Alistair or Sten die might be important. In scifi and fantasy, no one is actually dead unless you see a corpse, and sometimes not even then....
We should also note that it's possible that the old favorite wasn't a party member. While I'd prefer it to be Alistair, and suspect that it's Oghren, there are many possibilities.

That would explain the spectral dragon... but she's in the wrong place as the **** who's responsible for her demise is a hundred something miles to the west. Roflpwnt.

Well, firstly, it was kind of a joke. And secondly, games sometimes bring people back from the dead. ;)

The Dragon Age universe does say that no magic can bring people back from the dead however (although that could just be that it hasn't been discovered yet).

Possibly more likely, though, is that if you "killed" Ser Cauthrien at the Landsmeet, she may just have been knocked unconscious and nursed back to health later.

I want Sandal to be in it. He seemed to somehow survive a darkspawn invasion on Fort Drakon and get within 2 floors of the Archdemon, he must have a couple of tricks up his sleeve.

Little did you know, but Sandal is really the archdemon.

It's depend on what you did and how you treat each companions in games.

On my ending it highly to be Alistar,Oghren,Zevran

Alistar: even though he's king(on my ending) whatever happend in Amaranthine is also Ferelden buisness too, And he can't ignore it since he's king and it's close to  Ferelden border.

Oghren: He hanging around Denerim(on my ending)

Zevran : I convince him to stay, Said i could use him later

And i choose to be Alistar assistant and being chancellor in Denerim whice make me very close to them all.

I hope it depends on, and takes into account, the endings you picked, in my first and main playtrough I chose to have Alistair do the ritual with Morrigan (so both of us lived), and made Anora queen, then at the end I chose to rebuild the Wardens in Ferelden, and have Alistair (whom I romanced) chose come with me.

So I hope that it takes that into account in the expansion, so that Alistair as at my side as he should be, and Anora takes his place in the parts where he is shown as king shown in the trailer.

If Anora comes back, I'm feeding her to the darkspawn, or Dog.

*Watches as Dog cringes, then gets very sick*

Don't feed the Dog human/elven/Qunari/Dwarf/Darkspawn Flesh.

He gets very sick too easily.

I really hope dog is NOT left out. He is MY dog and I want him in the expansion. It would make no sense for him to suddenly not be there, even if I have to leave him behind with Alistair or something. Just acknowledge him!
