The Dragon Age universe does say that no magic can bring people back from the dead however (although that could just be that it hasn't been discovered yet).Well, firstly, it was kind of a joke. And secondly, games sometimes bring people back from the dead.
Possibly more likely, though, is that if you "killed" Ser Cauthrien at the Landsmeet, she may just have been knocked unconscious and nursed back to health later.
This is exactly what I meant. An apparent 'death', not a real one. We were deceived into thinking she died. Just like when our companions fall down 'dead' and they even use a little corpse icon. Her body on the floor is not evidence. If I haven't seen a funeral (and even then I'm dubious) or an ingame statement that a character really is dead, then they're only provisionally dead until I can get actual proof.
Edit: This is not to say that I really believe it will be her. Just that it's as good a guess as any - and I really like the symmetry of it - and wouldn't she be absolutely kick-ass. In actual fact I have not a clue who it really is. And neither does anyone else as yet. Trailers are often deliberately deceptive, in order to hype up the paying customer.
