I am doing Overlord right now and just fought the first Prime you meet at the satellite dish. It appears to me as though he had two drones active at the same time. Two drones clearly show up in the video I shot. One knocks me out of cover, then the next comes over and knocks me out of cover again. So can Primes have two drones active at once? Or is their some other beastie on that level that can deploy a drone that I just didn't see?

(I may post the vid later after my current upload is complete.)

Not sure. I cannot recall offhand if I have seen a Geth Prime spawn two drones at once. Geth Primes are the only Geth unit that can spawn a drone.

I think I may have seen it happen once, but I cannot be sure. I am looking through some of my old videos to see if I have such a moment recorded. I have seen one where two drones may have been one the field at once, but the first drone may have "died" offscreen so I cannot say for certain. It appears that the Geth Prime has a really quick cooldown on its drone; Unless you see two drones at once, it is possible that it spawned a second drone as soon as the first drone disappeared (enemy drones disappear after hitting you).

Here's the vid. At 3.5 seconds you can see one drone next to Shepard (popping her out of cover) and one next to the Prime. Then, almost instantly, the second drone shows up right next to Shepard and pops her out of cover again.

Hmm,

I'm not sure, but aren't there 2 primes in the area?

One somewhere on the right (from the entrace), near an alcove and a second to the left near the stairs.

There is only one Prime in that area. There is another Prime on the dish area later.

It actually looks like there are three drones on the field at once in that video, not two.

I have a character (maybe two or three) that have not done Overlord yet that I can see if I can duplicate it.

Note that it could be a bug in Overlord code that is allowing a Prime to have more than one drone on the field at once.

Yeah, there are 3 at once briefly.

Confirmed.

That Geth Prime sure loves his Drones (when he is not trying to turn me into Swiss cheese with his Revenant).

This is all from memory, may be wrong.

ME1 Geth Primes are equipped with the Geth Pulse Rifle.
Powers: Moral Booster, Radar Jamming, Hex Shield, Dampening, and some type of missiles.

ME2 Geth Primes in are equipped with the Revenant and can melee.
Powers: Siege Pulse, Combat Drone, Moral Booster and Radar Jamming.

ME3 Geth Primes are equipped with the Pulse Cannon and can melee.
Powers: Geth Turrets X2, Combat Drone.

All Geth Primes in ME2 are "Warloards" according to the ME3 description of the Revenant.  "...only the richest and most powerful warlords can afford the Revenant."

It wouldn't be the strangest thing I've seen a Prime do. At one point during a mission on Haestrom I tried lowering a Prime's shields with an Overload attack...and I guess the Prime must've had reflective armor because I ended up being the one that was overloaded.
