So, We're all itching for more info about the next game in the Mass Effect Universe, but when will we get it?

If memory serves, Bioware has had some presence at Comic-Con in the past and have spoken about their games there (At least the Dragon Age franchise). Do you guys think we'll hear anything, about the story at least, there? If not, when? I can't imagine them with holding all information until after DA releases.

Most likely on N7 day.

Most likely on N7 day.

You really think that they'd keep us waiting until November 7th though? That seems awfully far away from their little E3 reveal thing.

While I'm sure there will be a lot of talk about the game on Nov. 7, that seems like a very late start to promoting a game set for release in 2015.

They've already shown some early footage at E3.

They've already shown some early footage at E3.

Not anything really. And everything was labeled as "Conceptual Footage".

Provided they have been working on the game since 2012, have teased us twice with "concepts" and have stayed silent about anything relating to the game, I think it's probably about time they talk about something, even if it's just the future of the franchise and not exclusively the next game. This E3 teaser was a good set up, but it won't look good if they stay silent for 5 months.

Its just showing that the game is being made and they have good idea what they are doing for the next game.

We don't even have a name for it yet. We're talking about it in the ME3 forum. We've seen about as much from the "new IP" as from ME4, which was "halfway" through development several months ago. If ME4 is scheduled for 2015 as rumored, they're gonna have to start talking about it for real well before DAI is released in October.

^I think they're doing it because they want all the focus to be on DAI, then after its release they may revial some details.

EA has no problem promoting several games at the same time.

True, but there could be under a NDA about what they could reveal.

They very well may show stuff in July-October, but my mind is set on November. We can then see if they decide to start the hype train then, or wait until 2015.

Does anyone have some info regarding Gamescom in August? Will they be there? Even if so, I wouldn't bet my money on it, esp. because they've been there just once... but still.

We will definitely hear something this year. After or before DAI release? It's debatable.

You're assuming a 2015 release...

If they're releasing the game in 2015 then they might release some more info on it during PAX Prime and then a little more during N7 Day, both of which might mean a holiday season 2015 release of ME:Next.

It has been widely rumored, and as far as I know ME4 is the only possibility for a release in 2015. There might be an expansion to DAI, but as I understand it EA aims to have a major release from the BioWare brand every year.

Not conclusive, but certainly suggestive.

EA have begun holding mini-conferences at Gamescom, right? More teasing there?

Judging from what we were given at e3, it feels like this game is going to be a 2016 release.  That's just me, I guess.

I doubt that we will get anything substantial prior to the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition.  I think the studio wants to keep the consumers eye focused on that for now.  N7 day would be good, but I would expect something like the reveal for ME3 (December 2010 at the VGA 2010 awards).  A public spectacle. A blog post on N7 day seems too low-key.

I don't think we'll get first proper details until at least spring next year. Early 2016 at the very earliest and if it does launch that early it will be another rushed mess looking at where they are now.

I'd love to look at where they are now, but all we've got is a few images and some developer statements that the game is about halfway done and that the internal build was playable at the end of last year.

That looks a lot more like a 2015 release to me, and not as a rushed mess. That's 2.5 - 3 years of development, which doesn't suck. Especially considering that they've been working with the Inquisition developers from day 1 to get what they want out of the new engine.

Actually, this seems likely at the moment, especially since they're just showing concept footage now.  We'll hopefully find out for sure on N7 Day.

Seeing as how its a celebration of everything Mass Effect it would make sense, it might also have a large info dump.

It also would be after the release of DA:I. As the next major Bioware title on the horizon, it would make sense to start amping up promotion of it once DA:I is out of the gate.
