I don't see much point in the poster you are referring to posting what they did (it just incites argument). However, it is possible they are roleplaying a homophobic Inquisitor. It is a role-playing game after all. I don't think they actually said 'I don't want anyone homosexual near me', they were referring to their character.

 

Still probably would just be better left unsaid so as not to upset people, but I don't think we can assume it was definitely meant as a slight on the LGBT community out here in the real world.

 

Even if it was meant as a slight on the LGBT community, you don't need to respond to it. There was no anti-gay rant. Just one person saying they won't play with Sera because shes gay. End of story. No need to even comment.

I'm not going to start having a go at anyone but how do you expect people not to be offended by that? Simply the fact that they felt the need to make it clear that they no longer wanted that character for that specific reason. There are gay people on this forum you know, like me for example.

HUH, I didn't release homosexuality was such a big part of dragon age. Unless your interested in a gay romance, its very easy to not even notice. Believe it or not, a lot of players aren't even interested in any romance at all. I know, shocking.

Unlikely but interesting.  Not going to say it's impossible but I don't see Bioware going that route.

Yeah, except it's not really happening... Like I said before, I love straight people. I love men. I'm not attracted to them. Nor would I ever sleep with one, but I'm not going to discount them because they are straight. In fact, I've yet to really meet a gay person who does hate on straight people. I've seen lots of straight people who want nothing to do with gay people though. 

it happens all the time here. people state that they won't even play games because the character is straight and has no option to sleep with the same sex. it happened a lot on the old boards too, more with mass effect admittedly.

 

i can get away with murder here if i complain about heterosexuals, or point out that this certain character "should be" this orientation. but if I do the same thing the 'other way' around, it's going to be a long day.

 

neither are alright, and i'm not promoting one over the other. but to deny that it happens here is laughable.
