i pose this question to you then, how is what that individual is doing any different than what you do with games that have no female leads, or do not offer homosexual romance arcs? the individual was less eloquent, and more crude in the way that they said "gay? nope, not playing with that character" but it's the same idea, and same course of action that you admitted taking with other games.
that's what i'm posting on about, the ability for nobody to blink twice at what you're saying, but if it's the other way around it's: 'light up the torches'. that doesn't apply to this case in the truest sense, because the delivery of the denial by the other poster of not wanting to play with/as a gay character was more crude than your delivery of not wanting to play a man/straight character was, but it is still the same idea.
Except that's not really the same thing.
I don't opt out of games entirely. I've played many games where I was a male character. I've even enjoyed them. I've played many games where I was a straight female character and loved them.
I have never played a game where I excluded party members because they were straight or male. THAT is the difference.
Most games have a male protagonist, or at the very least a straight female protagonist. I don't NOT play them just because of that. However, when it comes to an RPG and I have the choice to play not only a female but a lesbian, you bet I jump on that.
Anyway, we've gone WAY off topic and this isn't even what the thread is about. I'd be more than happy to debate this with you, but this really isn't the place.
