I'd have to go with Viviene. She seems to be only concerned with her own political ambition and uncaring of anything that doesn't help it. Sort of like Morrigan's "Are we going to fix every problem in this village?" but with Orlesian pomp and arrogance. On the other hand, I romanced Morrigan and liked her quite a bit in the end, so maybe it'll be the same way. I'm keeping an open mind regardless.

Cassandra. I love powerful women, but she seems like a raging zealot. Can't stand that kind of person. I'll take her head first chance I get.

Solas. He looks like your depressed, mellow monk-like stock character. I look at his face and I see nothing....just this vacant expression lol...

Vivienne definitely , Her looks , outfit and her entire attitude / personality thats also wrapped in the smug arrogance of a Orlesian. Mind you Morrigan was somewhat similar even tho follow the romance threw it seems at least that her feelings are genuine so maybe Vivienne is the same but I don't know.  She'll be sent to the gallows as soon as possible. ( I mean the actual gallows where i execute people not Kirkwall , mind you whats the difference right lol)

I get (and indeed, indulge in) wildly speculating which companion one would like least, but I don't understand this weird need for people to express it in "therefore I will shoot/murderknife them" terms.

I would not NOT recruit anyone so far, but if we leave aside the dude people are assuming is Cole (I thought he was ... fine in Asunder, but was not particularly interested in him outside of that book), Sera is probably the one I'm least interested in, although depending on my mood Solas takes the prize. There are so few companions I outright dislike, though, I feel pretty confident I won't hate any of them.

I'm not saying I'd kill Viv.....but if there is an option to feed her to a demon(for profit!) then I can't see me saying no. She shouldn't even be mad, after all, I'm just being practical and power-hungry.

Defensive about the philosophy of the Qun while not having to adhere to it himself due to his status as a Qunari double agent.

From the Q&A with Patrick Weekes:

"The Iron Bull really loves life outside the demands of the Qun, now that he’s gotten used to it, and he does everything big. He overeats, drinks himself sick, and will hop into bed with anyone he’s reasonably sure he won’t break. He’s been close to death enough times to appreciate life whenever he has the chance."

I got no problem with this myself. Hedonists tend to be annoying, but they aren't exactly harming anyone other than themselves with their excess. Here's the part that gets me, however:

"The only folks The Iron Bull has trouble with are those who go looking for fights about the Qunari. He isn’t trying to convert anybody, but he’s not going to apologize for his way of life, and people like Varric, who saw the Qunari at their worst in Kirkwall, might take that the wrong way."

From this we can gather that not only is he defensive of Qunari philosophy, but also is he in compliance with the oppressive acts that the Qunari have committed. He sincerely enjoys a freedom that he would deny others through the Qun.

It is worth noting that we don't know much about him so far, and he can still turn out to be a great character even if I don't like him. But from what we know so far. he is a hypocrite.  I don't like hypocrites, I never have and I never will.

EDIT: it is worth noting that I wouldn't have this problem with the Iron Bull if he were Tal'Vashoth as I had originally assumed. However, it appears he is still a practicing Qunari, even if his faith is faltering just a little bit. I really hope there is a rivalry path in which we are able to call his hypocrite ass out and cause him to renounce the Qun... and that I don't have to romance him in the process to be able to accomplish that. *gag*

The fact he is not trying to convert anyone proves he is not being a hypocrite. He clearly does not like anyone dragging in arguments mouthing the qun. He would only be a hypocrite if he does one thing and says another. The fact he is not preaching the qun while being a Hedonist means he not a hypocrite. That comment from Weeks does not remotely state he support the qun. In fact the comment implies people confront him about the actions of other qunari.

Not a huge Varric fan. Would've appreciated some new dwarf talent, maybe even a romanceable dwarfette.

Vivienne looks to be the one I'd likely lock horns with most.

Specifically, this bit bothers me: "To dress for comfort or purpose is a scandal—fashion and splendor are all that matter to Vivienne. Shower yourself in gold, let only the finest silks grace your skin, and wear a king’s ransom in pearls and silver upon your feet. Leave the stained tunics and rough cloaks to the commoners and their mud farms–a proper Orlesian climbs mountains in her evening gown, standing taller at the summit in her formidable high-heeled shoes."

Having high personal standards and ambitions... great! Caring solely about superficial things and expressing disdain for others who don't live up to your unrealistic expectations... not so much.

That said, I'm still looking forward to interacting with her. Hopefully, she'll be a character I love to hate at the very least.

Vivienne

She seems like she would be a pain to deal with that ego of hers. And she comes off as incredibly untrustworthy to me.

I agree, but wouldn't it make it all the sweeter to knock her ego down a peg or two through dialogue?

The ultimate goal of the Qun is to "enlighten" everyone on the planet, and assimilate everyone into their "perfect" society. This assimilation includes, but is not limited to: stripping away the cultural identity of viddathari, removing any and all choice from how they live their lives ("to succeed within a role or to die" are the only options), and in the worst case use qamek to turn those unwilling to convert into mindless slaves. He doesn't have to be going door to door spreading the Qun to be an undercover agent for the Qunari (and Qunari interests), and he's still gathering intelligence that will prepare said Qunari for a mainland invasion that will strip the freedoms that he enjoys so much from everyone else.

Why would he do that if he doesn't support the Qun?

i really don't see how anyone can answer this unless based on looks or it's Varric because we don't know the other characters yet.  Even Cassandra, all we've seen her do is talk/threaten Varric in DA2.

This has never made sense to me,  The little paragraph they give only touches the surface of the characters it doesn't say what their conversations will be like or their story.  I'll answer this after I've played the game a few times.

I think he gets into fights because people assume his is part of the Qun or bad mouths his people just to ****** him off. He clearly doesn't live by it and has it been stated that he is spying?

It seems like he still supports his fellow Qunari back home, out of some level of loyalty or traditionalism, but has fallen out of faith in the tenants of the Qun itself. At least, that's how I was reading it.

Even though we don't know a great deal about everyone so far, I honestly don't dislike anyone. But the character I'm least intrigued by and will probably stay at the keep most? Vivienne.

"his superiors moved him to what most people outside the Qunari think of when they imagine the Ben-Hassrath: spy work in other countries. He was told to set up a mercenary company, take jobs from nobles, and pass information back to the Qunari."

"The official reason The Iron Bull joins the Inquisition is that his Qunari superiors want to know what the Inquisition is doing. Qunari have a pretty dim view of uncontrolled magic, and a giant hole in the sky is about as uncontrolled as you can get."

"He knows the Inquisition’s agents would uncover his ties to the Ben-Hassrath, so he’s opted to save time and be completely up-front about his work. If the player can handle The Iron Bull sending reports, the Qunari agent can get the Inquisition valuable information in return from his spy network. "

(all quotes from the esteemed Patrick Weekes)

He is most definitely still an active Qunari agent, reporting to the Ben-Hassrath. If he is actually having a crisis of faith, I hope there is an option to convince him to sever ties with the Qun, and start sending then false information in order to take advantage of their intelligence while not making them any more powerful.

Otherwise I may have to take the OP literally and kill Iron Bull for the sake of the Inquisition.

I imagine the diligent between Vivienne and My Inquisitor will be like this.

INQUISITOR: What I object to is that you automatically treat me like an inferior ...

VIVIENNE: Well ... I AM the Empress' personal advisor and enchanter.

INQUISITOR: Oh, very nice. The Empress' personal Mage, eh! I expect you've got a palace and fine clothes and courtiers and plenty of food. And how d'you get that? By exploiting the Elves! If there's EVER going to be any progress ...

All of them.

But frankly, I'm not worrying about or delving on that.

I'll make up my mind when I have the game and have designed a protagonist.
