[PLUSH HYENA of DOOM]

I've held off from actually cluttering the site up with a pointless thread thus far, but have now reached the end of my patience...

 

The problem, I can't post images in forum threads.

 

I've looked through assorted threads here and tried various things suggested to others who were having image problems. No success.

I've tried using the "Image" box in the post editing window - that always, without fail, refuses to work and messes everything up.

I've tried typing things in with the [IMG ]... method and get squitty little black boxes with a white X on them which do nothing other than irritate me.

 

I use basic jpg images, placed on Photobucket where I have every possible setting, so far as I can find, set to be public and open and so forth, yet still nothing...

 

Without an ability to post images, it's basically impossible to discuss and develop Custom Content and I'll have to just give up on BSN altogether, which I don't want to do.

[ img=url ] not work? There are some formats that don't work but jpgs should.

This may have nothing to do with it, but in the text window, in the top left hand corner, there is a little grey switch next to remove format eraser. Is this on or off?

It is a small grey button with a 'down arrow'. Try clicking it and then typing img and /img

^^This happened to me too, and I couldn't post anything except plain text.^^

Which browser are you using? If you use Internet Explorer you should probably try a different Browser like Firefox or Chrome because IE doesn't seem to work very well with this site.

Someone has finally found a solution for me which largely seems to concern the exact method I upload images to photobucket in the first place.

 

Upload them via the upload function and they refuse to be posted anywhere. Drag and drop the images directly into the photobucket album and they work. Go figure.

 

Clearly some grotesque little Spleen must have been deliberately trying to annoy me.

(Going to investigate that little grey arrow though - it may also be the exact shape of a Spleen and thus need to be fallen upon and hideously killed.)

If you're using Photobucket, they like to hide the URL to the images they are displaying to you.  To get the actual URL, click on the image you want to display so that it shows up on its own page on Photobucket.  Then on the right side, you'll see "Links to share this photo" and see the "Direct" entry.  Copy the url there and you should be able to paste it on the img tag you create to post the image on the forum post.

Yes. This works... but apparently only for images that have been dragged and dropped from the desktop to photobucket and NOT uploaded by any other means.

Weird.

That is strange. I've only ever tried it on images I've posted via drag/drop.
