I honestly don't understand what is meant by this.
It means that females don't get to grow facial hair (or rather, they do as they get older and try to pluck it before anyone sees it) and if age makes them lose hair they're less attractive. I really try to say exactly what I mean, despite being an idiot sometimes. Sometime I'd really love to see the slip under the dress acknowledged. I think that's actually the point I was trying to make and I lost myself in my bitterness.

No apologies necessary, and you didn't sound like an idiot. I hope I didn't sound antagonistic, because I really was looking for clarification, which you provided, so thank you. And for what it's worth, I agree.

I think she tried to say what it's don't mater how you look. But I don't understand for what reason. And There was topic to have alternative appearance for companions like in swtor, I am against it. My Inquisitor will have facial hair and long hair if possible. And I don't like all companions have short hair only Blacwall and Cole have ''long'' hair, they not even long, but it's longest in party. I like hair not equal I hate bold people.

Josephine looks best and have personality I think I will like.
This chick is ugly and reminds me of Star Wars throwaway models.

His views are probably skewed by the saturation of really really good looking people in popular media, but she definitely isn't your typical hollywood or gaming babe either. I mean look at the blemishes and marks on her face, she looks like a real life ordinary person.

Now I see the companions of this new game, and.... look at the pictures above. Female companions seem clearly designed with "must look hot" in mind, while male characters are plain ugly or average.
I realize this is an older topic but I guess people are still posting about it, to which I would say this is true really of not just Bioware but pretty much all non-Japanese gaming companies. League of Legends has all these really attractive female characters and the guys are just like aliens or robots or demons or in some rare instances sort of normal looking.
It also was something I was putting in the "trope" thread but I guess it goes here also. it is pretty rare to get an awesomely attractive male character for whatever reason. When they do show up they're usually non-hetero. The idea of just a very normal classically attractive straight male doesn't really exist in most video games.

Yeah I think most males in Western games are meant to appeal to straight men in a sense, so they're "powerful" or "cool" or "badass" but not necessarily attractive.
I'm glad we've got Cullen in Inquisition. ![]()

I think Josephine is pretty. That being said, I think everyone is entitled to their opinions. If we can go on and on about how attractive a character is, then others should be able to describe how ugly they think a character is (without so much butthurt from those who disagree). Seems fair to me.

There's literally zero advertising for this game that has featured romances, OP. They've even been very clear on pointing out that it's only been mentioned in off hand tweets and interviews, with no special attention over other topics from BioWare.
I also remember reading they literally didn't even want to put romances in it, but were pretty much forced to, probably explains the lack of advertising and attention for it. Wouldn't bother me if they didn't.

Gamespot, it might have been more about sex scenes than the actual romance aspect, sorry It was a while ago I honestly can't remember the details.

Hey,
Looked at the "menue" again now, after it has been clarified who is straight, gay or bi (well, there's hope as not all have been revealed yet)
And I must say, for a straight, male character, there's not much choice IMO and a lot of it does not look all that sexy, you get:
Cassandra (who they have recreated worse looking - in comparison to her DA2 self (she was a true babe and now she's an average looking tomboy...))
and:
Josephine (who while reasonably pretty is not the epitome of beautiful either)
That's it for now...it's a little sad...the gays (no: I still don't hate them) get the better end of the deal, because they get Dorian and Sera (would have loved to snag Dorian with my female inquisitor...and Sera with one of my guys)
Hell, only playing a female character gets you great options if you are straight:
Cullen (not that I like him much, but at least he looks good)
and:
Iron Bull
well, I hold out on final judgement till all is said and done, but I don't really like what we have so far ![]()

I really don't think straight males need to get traditionally sexy love interests every single game.

Vivienne is traditionally sexy and does anyone think she will NOT be available? I mean, seriously?

And isn't he a crazy popular character?? I mean, based on the amount of posts around him. Anyway... one day we'll see them more often I would think.

I am not a troll. I swear.
This is something that has always bugged me a lot about Bioware games.
Dragon Age: Origins felt like it had the equal share of eyecandy for boys and girls of all sexual preferences.
But personally I always felt Mass Effect was definitely sexist. (Anyway, this is not the Mass Effect forum.)
Now I see the companions of this new game, and.... look at the pictures above. Female companions seem clearly designed with "must look hot" in mind, while male characters are plain ugly or average.
I suppose I'm the only lady in this forum who is bothered by this? Are you fellow ladies eager to date Solas or Varric, while your fellow players can enjoy dating Vivienne or Cassandra?
Ummm Cullen? need I say more, he is pretty fine and I would have no problem having Varric as a romance with my Dwarf lady.

I think you meant to say "this chick looks like the most real woman, as opposed to the other women in the game who look like plastic dolls." People aren't suppose to look perfect, they have imperfections.
Seriously (in my opinion)...
--Vivienne is constantly sweating for some reason, with some of the most fake/stereotypical lips I have ever laid my eyes upon.
--Morrigan and Cassandra look borderline manish/like men trying to cosplay female characters.
--Leliana looks like a porcelain doll etc. etc.
The only other woman in the game that looks like a real woman (again, in my opinion) is Sera, and she's not even human.

Cass doesn't look mannish to me. She has sharp features and short hair, that's about it. I'm not sure how I feel about Morrigan's new look, she's got a **** ton of makeup and her hair hides a good portion of her face. But keep in mind that she's aged, she's around 40 in DAI.

And Morrigan in Orlais.
And I don't understand why it is bad if Cassandra looks mannish. Ok let me help understand why some people think Cass look mannish.
Just honestly answer who look more femine.
Sephiroth

or
Cassandra

Male can look more feminine then Cass. I understand female want more strong women, I am not agents it I love Aveline, But do really all female must have short hair( Dos Bioware hate hair? But dos all female must be women shaped battering ram. Because cass is she can break gates i saw it.
And this is fun. Sephiroth
So you can be Feminine and be cool.
