I think Varric looks very handsome for a Dwarven character.
Female companions = sexy, male companions = average...

Cullen apparently looks like Troy Baker now, and other ladies tell me that's hot.
Varric in the DA:I engine looks pretty good to me, he's the most attractive dwarf I've seen in Dragon Age games.
And Dorian, from what little we've seen, is an attractive set of pixels. I'm not particularly into mustache wax, but I'll make an exception for him.
Not sure about Blackwall the Bara or Solas yet, but personality goes a long way.
I think Vivienne, Cassandra, and Sera are all attractive in their own ways (so far, again, personality might change my opinion), but I don't see them being created to be "hot" any more than the guys, at least from what we've seen so far.

There was somewhere early concept with haired Solas and hot Dorian, I have no idea why Bioware drop these concept ideas, shave Solas and make Dorian so tanned.

Dorian's pretty damn good-looking and he can twirl his moustache at me any time he likes. And I don't usually like facial hair. The power of Dorian's moustache has overcome me!
And Iron Bull is pretty good looking if you like big bull-like men. He's not classically handsome but he does have a good strong face. I certainly like it.
As for Varric, I've been wanting to run my hands through his chest hair since the first time I met him in DA2. Why does he have to be so faithful to Bianca?
Oh DAMN what a time to run out of likes.
Your post is hilarious!
I dunno what it is about Dorian, man. I've been gushing about him all over this board today.

Dorian looks like the frequent poet+musician+waiter combo from Hackney Wick or Brick Lane with that mustache. Cole will appeal to dark emo, patient people who don't find tormented souls tiresome. As for Duncan Blackwall, well I suppose he'll be attractive to some but in general I'll agree I don't see the equivalent of pretty Zevran or debonair Alistair in this squad.
Maybe Cullen will be the Bradley James type character for the ladies?

Why, WHY did you have to say that name. As if I needed YET ANOTHER character to get excited about.
I really think, if we had to compare DAO to DAI characters, that Cullen will be Inquisition's version of Alistair for many people, at least in terms of attractiveness.

I disagree with the OP, and i personally don't find the 3 female companions that sexy , at least not from the pics i've seen so far.
And in ME, yes, the women were sexy but were men like Jacob or Kaidan that "average"? .

The Penguin from the Batman series has fangirls drooling over him. This does not mean he is an attractive character, or even a character meant to be considered attractive.
Would Penquin have those same fangirls if didn't have money?

You know, I've been in DC fandom for more than a decade, and I don't think I've ever met a Penguin fangirl. (The Joker, yes. Especially after he was played by Heath Ledger. Riddler, sure. But Penguin?)
I'm not saying there aren't any fangirls, I'm just saying that I went and checked on AO3 and there were only two stories where the Penguin was romantically involved with anyone. (It was the Riddler in both cases. And both stories were PG-rated, so no sexytimes.)

While beauty can be objective, attraction is completely subjective.
From what you're stating, it seems to me that this is all about your attraction to the characters, not how objectively beautiful they might be.
And even if we wanted to give some statement on the "objective beauty" of these characters, it'd still be so abstract that you could find beauty in each of them.
As someone who's attracted to both genders I'll have to state that I find both sides equally attractive in this game, from a purely appearance based point of view.
Also I don't mean to sound lecturing, but to me at least, if any of the characters' personalities really appeals to me, I could care less about their looks.

In other words, you personally find Vivienne and Cassandra more attractive, than Solas and Varric. And then you add that there allegedly is such thing as "objective beauty" (which defies any gender differences whatsoever, apparently). Complete and utter absurdity of such a comparison aside, first off: there is no such thing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Moreover, Vivienne and Cassandra are as different as they come. Vivienne is well-groomed and sleek, she's a powerful woman clearly used to exuberant and expensive life. Cassandra is a battle-scarred warrior, and it shows on her face. One is a velvet glove, the other is a steel fist.
And if you find them both equally attractive and sexy despite of that, then perhaps you can understand it's entirely possible that someone other than you finds Solas and Varric attractive and sexy, and not "average looking".

This is what happened to Cassy after she was hit with the DA:I ugly stick.
I agree that Vivenne looks like some sort of fashion model, but she's more an exception than a rule.
I really don't think this "ugly stick" thing is fair. For one thing the only change is the scars and the fact that it is a new engine. Cass does allot of looking down at Varric in DA2 which makes her Jaw and face shape look different to that looking up shot.
Compare it to this pic
It's not actually a huge change in her face shape. She just has more defined features and a slightly wider jaw in a better engine.
Now look here.
Obviously when she looks up her jaw looks very wide (coz it is) but that is just a particularly bad angle for her. She doesn't look all that different other than the scars ofc and more defined features. She was never a particularly feminine looking lady and some may find her ugly (I disagree) but that shot really isn't a good example of how she looks.
As for Vivienne, she is very beautiful but I don't think she is designed to look sexy or anything, more classic looking ofc I am sure allot of people find that sexy but she is hardly an Isabella style of beauty.

Female companions look attractive to you? Well, they look mighty ugly to me. Out of all three games, this is the only one that doesn't have decent looking female characters. Sera is the only one that's anything close to decent(she really looks too much like Britney Spears with elf ears).
It seems like that time again where all the females have to have 5 cm lips, maybe this is what they meant by "staying close to Origins", except it's a lot worse than Origins. Leliana and Morrigan are the only women in the game that look good so far, but they aren't romanceable. So yeah, really don't know what you're talking about here.

I'm withholding judgment until I've talked to, fought with, and gotten to know them. It's what's on the inside that counts, you know. (And... if they have a smexy voice).
I've got a bit of an initial crush on Blackwall. And Dorian. And Cullen. ![]()

I dunno if you're serious or not, but I actually completely agree, and as an extremely shallow gay man, it annoys the hell out of me that people praise/decry the "non-traditional beauty" of the female characters.
Like, omg, Cassandra has a wide-set jaw and a scar? Wake me up when she's an eight-foot tall minotaur with only one eye.

That depends entirely on who you ask mate, my sister is drooling over the Bull and Varric, and I've never found either Vivienne or Cassandra to be anything near gorgeous.
me neither, think it is a scandinavian thing?
