I don't think any of the female companions is particularly attractive.

I, in fact think Vivienne is an ugly ****** and Cass (while awesome) is not my romance type. I also think Solas is incredibly stupid looking both in clothes and face/head(MY EEEYYESSS!!!!!!). So that leaves Varric, who I find decent enough to look at and awesome in personality. So out of those four, Varric be me choice.

It's mostly about symmetry, but it doesn't chart out what or how the symmetry is arranged. Different kinds of noses, eyes, lips, face shapes, etc.. still can be symmmetrical.

 

It's not like the "Greek ideal" or anything.. where it's more specific.

 

Pretty much, you can have countless different symmetrical faces.

Seriously? I think all of our companions look great so far. Some look just beautiful, others have great design and aren't as conventionally attractive as others, but their little "flaws" just makes them even more appealing imo. I couldn't name any companion that I consider outright ugly.

I like them all so far. Not sure about 'attractiveness', but I don't think any look ugly or anything.

I'd say Bull comes close enough. If not actually ugly, he's at least real scary. Intimidating. Not attractive fo sho.

I will say that I vastly prefer DAI Cass to DA2 Cass. In DAI she looks like an actual person, not a cartoon character.

Aside from those cheek bones than are giving me default Male Shep flashbacks I really like Iron Bull's look but then again I've been told I've got some pretty bizarre tastes 

 

Weird to see him with facial hair though makes me dig his look even more actually 

 

Edit: I don't think any of the male companions look ugly persay but I don't think all of the female companions look like beauty queens either, the only picture up in the op that looks ehhh to me is Solas but that's more for the fact that the lighting makes him looked greased up like he's about to do some nug wrestling. Though Viv does look kind of shiny too just not as much as Solas does.

Don't get me wrong, I think his appearance fits his character and backstory perfectly. It's just when I compare him to Varric or Solas (who reminds me of Nicolas Cage in a way)

Solas looks like Nicolas Cage? Well I can never not unsee that now   and now he went from ehh to creepy for me thanks for that 

 

The only guys we've seen the look like they'd really fit in a 'pretty boy' category so far to me are just Varric and Dorain maybe Cullen but I haven't seen a good screen shot of him in DAI yet 

 

That aside though its all about taste when everyone gets right down too it and I personally prefer gruffer looking guys so that's most likely why I dig Iron Bull's look as much as I do plus his eye patch is just awesome.

This is the most varied cast by far, I 'll agree. I find all the characters pretty ugly except for Cass and Doran.

I have to agree, DAO have perfect balance.

And DAI situation bothered me too, because right now, I can't imagine I could romance bald elf, or dude with mustache. They don't look attractive to me. Varric could be best friend, but can't imagine him as LI, same goes with Iron Bull and Blackwall.

Seems Cullen - is only option because he looks okay compared to others, but I never liked him. Also there is my personal hope that blonde rogue NOT Cole., because if he is Cole means tabu to any romance.

 

I'd take Dorian (mustache dude) over cullen but with my luck he'll be m/m exclusive. I'd romance IB with my Qunari sure but not with my human >_>

I think other posters evidently made this point but I'll just repeat it then -- Beauty doesn't solely apply to that of being visually appealling. It can also equate to personality and character. I found there were plenty of things that was attractting about Merrill which I didn't find about Isabela. I think what was most attracting about Isabela were her cunning wit, which is a trait I love in women. Aveline's attraction can best be summed up by her power as an authority figure with a strong sense of justice, and love for her friends and family. It's different for every person but while I'm not as optimistic about the romantic nature of BioWare games anymore, I do think there's potential for things to like about these characters, romantic or not.
