Spoiler alert? I'm assuming if you're here you know all about the ending anyway so whatever.

 

I was wondering what it is, exactly, that influences who Shepard sees as he/she makes his/her final choice at the Crucible. I know the LI plays a part, as well as Anderson, apparently, but in my first playthrough (as Fem!Shep) I saw Anderson, Kaidan, and Joker; the second time (which I just finished - ugh, feels) Joker was replaced by Thane, of all people. In the extended cut cutscene I also saw Legion and Mordin.

 

So... Any ideas? My apologies if this has been discussed before; if so, just point me to a source and I'll shut up about it.

Ah, well, that would make sense, seeing as Thane, Mordin, and Legion were the only ones I allowed to die throughout the course of my playthrough. Thanks for clearing the waters. ;D

Because I befriended EDI and explored all of her dialogue on both the Normandy and the Citadel, she was in the second flashback between Anderson and Liara. Because of that, her face isn't shown among those that die if you pick Destroy.

depends on playthrough. I've had Thane ,edi, Wrex, Liara and Ashely. If you do a run and Liara is dead, she will always be in the second flashback(if she isn't LI)

Dude, seriously... let it rest. That horse hasn't been just dead, it's been turned to glue, sniffed, hallucinated about and had a flash game developed about it.

Not true.

 

I did a playthrough with only Kaidan dead on Virmire and edi and Liara killed on beam run.

 

What I did was not recruit Wrex in ME1. In ME2 I did not recruit Thane and gave the Geth to Cerberus. At the memorial wall scene, I had Steve, Joker, Tali, Garrus, Javik, James, Samantha and Ashley in attendance. All the ME2 squadmates were alive.

Pre-EC, it was rather justified, since, if you didn't romance Kaidan or Ashley, the last person you'd see was Liara. Your LI wouldn't even figure into the flashbacks.

There have been reports of that. Nobody's quite sure how that code works

Its also possible that it could be the one you talk with the most.

 

All I know in my 2 playthroughs of not romancing anyone, it was the squadmate used the most.

If you don't have a LI it seems to glitch. I also remember reading that whoever tells Joker they need to leave at the end is the most used squadmate outside of the two chosen for the beam run but it was usually random for me.

That is correct about who tells Joker to leave. It also applies to who the third person is that comes out of the Normandy on the planet. For the character that holds the nameplate, its the LI(except Miranda and Jack) or if you have no LI, its the one you talk with the most and the one who holds the nameplate if your LI is Miranda or Jack
