the children look so different. Didn't May have blue eyes and has Brandon(?) been working out

You can actually customise eye colour now.

And google says Brendan (who names these people?) Apparently, he does in fact lift.

Thanks, I can't find where it says brendan is a bro who even lifts though. And I don't think it's confirmed these new games will have customization? Fingers crossed though I like May's old bandanna hopefully that's an option.

An observational assessment.

And no it isn't, but I think it'd be pretty silly of them to leave it out now that they have it. Though I suppose that hasn't stopped them in the past. (Secret bases. Lets have those back btw)

I should certainly hope so. Now that we've got street pass, it'd be a waste not to.

So November 21st is the set release date... and somehow the 28th for Europe and quite possibly Canada too.

Le sigh... the worldwide release for X and Y was a good thing, so that's a real disappointment.

The rumour mill seems to think that this is Nintendo avoiding all the leaks that came from UK retailers accidentally selling X and Y early. (Games in the UK will traditionally release on a set day, so a worldwide release on a different one seemed to cause some confusion). Not sure I believe that. but ugh either way.

So, what you're saying is that we should blame the UK for this?

GOOD GOING, ENGLISH PEOPLE. :|

SUPER secret bases!

You use the move secret power on a number of set locations to access them. You can visit other players bases for a number of different interactions, including battling, training, egg nurturing and sharing furnishings. Flags are back to some extent, and you can also set up your base as a gym of sorts to challenge other players. Naturally you can exchange bases via streetpass and QR codes.

You beat me to the punch. Good job.

But I am exit for this game, I even went back and played the originals for a little while.

Here's the article

Super-Secret Bases are an awesome new way to express your creativity and join up with friends in the upcoming Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. Create a Secret Base that’s all your own, including selecting and placing Decorations however you like. You can use Decorations to create tricks in your Secret Base, decide the rules for what kind of Pokémon battles are allowed there, and make it like your very own Pokémon Gym! Then get ready for other players to come and challenge you!

Using communication features, it’s easy to connect with other players around the world to share your Secret Bases with one another. When you visit another player’s Secret Base, that base’s members will be hanging out there. You can talk to them or even battle them! If you find base owners that you like, you can scout them as one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your own Secret Base. Once you’ve become Secret Pals with someone, you can continue to have Pokémon battles against them, and also have your Pal use “special skills” to support you on your adventure.

Another fun aspect of Super-Secret Bases is a capture-the-flag activity. Examine the flag beside the Secret PC in another player’s Secret Base to obtain it! You can take one flag per day from each base visited. Visit lots of Secret Bases and collect lots of flags to improve your team’s rank and get rewards, including increasing the skills of your Secret Pals. Flag colors will change based on a team’s rank, so you can tell another team’s rank at a glance—and others can tell yours!

You can share your Super-Secret Base with Trainers all over the world! Symbolize your Secret Base with a QR Code. With a QR Code, you can get the Secret Base of a particular player you’ve been wanting to visit.

To help you get started with Super-Secret Bases, you’ll meet Secret Base Expert Aarune. Aarune and his Flygon are world travelers, bursting with excitement about the Secret Base culture in the Hoenn region. This enthusiastic adventurer will teach you all about the fun of Secret Bases during your journey.

Look forward to building your own Super-Secret Base—and visiting your friends’ Super-Secret Bases—in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, launching this November!

I never did get a full play through. Always just bits and pieces on borrowed carts.

Now I do actually have an Emerald cart, so I've been wondering whether I should give it a go beforehand.

Either way I couldn't be more hyped. I asked for bases and I got 'em.

So, who else is excited for these games?

I always liked the hoenn region, so I'm definitely considering to pick these up around release.

There's just so much coming out towards the end of the year that I'll have to prioritise. Don't know if it'll make the cut.

Blaziken is undoubtedly one of the ugliest Pokemon ever. When I saw what Combusken evolved into, I was like "Nuhp!" The mega version is at least tolerable. Mawille is another disgusting Pokemon, and the mega version is better, but less so than the Blaziken one.

As if they couldn't make Swampert any more ugly, they come up with this.

Gen III is clearly the worst of all of them, and I'm glad I never played it. I completely skipped Gen III and Gen IV.

Gen I > Gen II > Gen VI > Gen V > Gen IV > Gen III.

Gen III remakes? I never asked for this!

Gen IV was awsome! Dialaga ftw!

So it's confirmed there won't be any trainer customisation.

Bah.

"In terms of the customization of the trainer, that was really kind of a special thing for the Kalos region, which featured this kind of motif of France and really focused on this beauty and fashion aspect, which is why it was a prominent feature in that game. For this game, we’re focusing on adventuring elements, so we don’t have the actual free customization of the trainer, but you’ll see the items you use throughout the game visually represented; for example, when you’re underwater, you’ll have this little mouthpiece that lets you breathe. So there’s some cool stuff for how your trainer changes clothes and puts on accessories throughout the game."

A nice enough justification, but I wish Nintendo would stop going back on improvements they make to their series.  :pinched:

Got it. Still need to play it. Smash Bros and Neptunia too distracting.

Walmart has both Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on sale for $26.85 each. If you get both, you can get free shipping on them should you choose the value shipping option.  :)

As a fan of Pokemon, I must say that this is a great deal, because the games do not go down in price. I do not have Pokemon Platinum and it is still going for the $35-$40 that it went for on release.
