*blew up Collector Base to keep Cerberus from getting Reaper technology*

*Cerberus gets Reaper technology anyway*

Cerberus also goes from being an organization of roughly 120 members composed into a dozen or so working cells, into a military force capable of rivaling the Alliance, with a seemingly endless supply of troops and supplies.

No....

I'm pretty sure the collective knowledge of the advanced civilizations over the course of the Reaper cycles did.

There couldn't be much they know that we don't, considering the Reapers arrive at around the same time every cycle.

The ending to ME3 won't be the only thing they retcon to get ME4 out, I'm assuming the entire ME trilogy will get canonized choices that over write player choices so that ME4 can take place shortly after ME3 without needing to import any player choices from ME 1,2,3.

I wouldn't be mad at all.  I am still convinced that they are going to retcon a LOT, and it's going to turn out that a lot of our decisions weren't as impactful as they appeared.  Sabotage the genophage?  Krogan cure it with some help a few years later.  Kill the Quarians?  A lot more ships escaped then you first thought.  As for the ending, they'll probably keep what happened to the Reapers really vague.

OP should've just titled the thread "I'm still mad about ME3".

We still don't know whether it will be a prequel, a sequel or a parallel story anyway.

I do know that I wouldn't buy into any IT sh!t. Harsh, but IT really is rediculously stupid in the first place.

Even a sequel may be done without any retconning, and with a more meaningful save import than anything we've ever seen before. It just needs an entirely different approach. I'd suggest something with a strong Asari/Salarian orientation. Let the more scientific inclined and advanced species open up the mess to sort it out.

I just hope the protagonist will be something entirely different. Instead of a military type, I hope for a scientist or a private investigator or something. Maybe one who served time several years before, to give some background about excessive use of weaponry, but still, someone who is outside the military hierarchy, with little to no useful connections there either.

People still believe IT?

They're still out there.  Though they've mostly been driven underground.

The Morlocks of BSN?

When you put it like that... Yeesh, makes me glad I shrugged my shoulders and left the whole ending mess back when I did.

I mean, IT was something to look to back before the Extended Cut, but now we're (hopefully) getting a sequel that's dumping the whole Reaper business out the window. In the words of Fallout: New Vegas, it's high time to let go and begin again.

I've never like that line it was badly written tbh (like Samara's line on the total no. of AY in the galaxy) , each of the cells would have hundreds or thousands of personal. Saying cerberus being made out of 120 cells would have have been better imo.

If destroy happened to be made canon. I'd sit here on the forums and wait for the synthesis master race to come storming in with all their hate. When I say that, I refer to people like Auld Wulf who back in the day if I recall, considered people to be unevolved genocidal barbarians if they didn't pick Synthesis.

They marginalized the Rachni Queen.

In the end it's going to be like that. I don't mind going to Andromeda. People getting angry over that idea, have no idea how it'll be implemented.
You want to make the Indoctrination Theory correct? I'm not gonna like it, but go ahead.
You want to retcon a previous choice in the ending? I'm all for it.

Honestly Control is the best ending in my opinion for a canon route. Make it canon.
Shepard God turns off all Reapers. Makes  a Shepard Clone, implements memories and the like, download a possible subconscious. Lets Reaper technology be gained. You can jump into Andromeda or other regions of space now. Have the new Shepard AI turn itself off.

Control allows a complete and utter victory over the Reapers without destroying Synthetics. It allows the plot to move forward from Reapers without the bullcrap that is Synthesis, or the needlessly stupid genocide of all Synthetics.

If they canonize destroy, I can already tell you the the story:

Fight your new synthetic overlords.

I'm totally for something new. Just not entirely.

For all the mystery and seeming pretentiousness (hello E3 video) so far from Bioware about the next game, I'm still only seeing and hearing things that I like - or at least things that imply things I like.

The less relation to the trilogy, the happier I'll be. Though it might be difficult to really pull it off, just gotta wait and see.

E3 video was just a lot of words not really saying anything other than look at what the engine can do!

I think it's probably for the best that the organics vs. synthetics thing not take the forefront of the new plot. Fighting an alien species with some kind of twist on it would be my preference.

Well, if it's a sequel, the Leviathan might still be out there somewhere. So whichever ending you picked, the next Galactic Super Enemy might still be lined up. Would the whole Citadel/Crucible thingy even affect them?

It does allow for an interesting plot twist though: instead of just fighting an enemy, we could be fighting for independence. That on its own could result in a radically different plot from the trilogy!

I don't believe a retcon will happen. Ever.

I'm ok with whatever they decide to do. 2015 can't come soon enough! I can't wait to see what ME4 is!

Hey, if something like that did happen again, we already have the answer.:

Organics should build synthetics that will protect organics from being wiped out by synthetics by killing all the advanced organics before they can build synthetics that will wipe out organics

I mean, it worked before, right?

That's right! In exactly one year New Horizons will be giving us our first-ever look at Pluto. Can't wait.

I would not be mad if destroy is canon and Shepard is alive.

I would not be mad if the reapers are dead, the geth are dead, the relays are functional, and Shepard is alive.

*SNIFFFFFFFFF* I smell a smelly smell that smells smelly...but wait there is a slight hint of retconnyness. It's over-shadowed by something so big it cannot be seen.Something so small it cannot be percieved. It has a very darkened hue veiled in between the colors of red, green and blue.

What OH What could it be? For it is beyond that which I can see.A curse from that which is of the 3.

Does anybody have a clue? I don't know ,how about you?
