  • Same Galaxy (Milky Way)
  • 50-100 years after ME3
  • Focus on exploring the Milky Way (less than 1% of the stars in the Milky Way have been explored)
  • New race as antagonists
  • Something bad happens to Krogans (roary naked Krogan with horn just doesn't look right)
  • Will be able to import saves, characters like Liara, Grunt, Wrex may make appearances. Most of your choices from the trilogy will just lead to small "cameo" appearances
  • ME3 endings will be "diluted" so that the effects weren't as massive and the game can be pretty much the same no matter what ending you chose. Synthesis needs to die or be retconned.
  • Reaper AI will make an appearance in some form
  • Prothean(s) may make an appearance
  • Reverse-engineered Reaper tech allows us to explore the Galaxy more freely

What you guys think?

Probably Javik.

The only way for a Prothean to be alive is lolretcon, lolstasispod or alternate universe.

All of those mentioned above excluding Javik suck.

Or clone. They could easily clone and grow a full Prothean from Javik's DNA in 100 years. Then we could have a Prothean that looks, sounds and acts like Javik but isn't Javik. Would also be cool to see what it would be like if Javik grew up in our society and not a Prothean one.

God, I hope not.

Wait a min.. you are going to throw out speculation of the galaxy map yet weigh in with a possible Prothean in the next ME?

Well, the thing in the picture is CLEARLY a Prothean. There's nothing clear about that Galaxy Map. It doesn't look like any Galaxy I know of, at least.

It's not that clear at all. I mean, the only Prothen ref we have is Javik and his crown is not red.

It's VERY clear. You can see the shell thingy on the head and the shape of the head, it's a Prothean.

And nope, I think it's just a fancy hologram of the Milky Way. I don't understand how you can say "it looks  slightly different so therefore it's not the Milky Way". It just looks like a fancy Galaxy Map. No spiral Galaxies look much like that, so you can't just go and say it's Andromeda or something. Do you even know how long it would take to get to Andromeda at FTL? It's not feasible.

And so I conclude it's a fancy looking map of the Milky Way.

What is clear is that it's open for speculation as much as any other aspect of the video. It looks like a helm to me and I'm not alone, either.

Do you even know how long it would take to get to Andromeda at FTL?

As a matter of fact, I do.

We know that the tech exists in the ME world for FTL of 12 LY per day. Andromeda is 1.5 million LY away. So at current in game tech they could get ther in 5-6 hundred years. A team of young Asari could make it there with conventional FTL speeds. Then factor in the possible reverse engineering of a Reaper and you can travel at 30 LR per day.

A nonstop flight would be ~350 years. Given that they cannot run at FTL all the time a good guess is ~ 450 years at the least.

And so I conclude it's a fancy looking map of the Milky Way.

But... you just stated that it's a galaxy map of something you have never seen before. Do you know what the MW potentially looks like?

No one is saying that it is without a doubt Andromeda. I never said that. What I do invoke is open mind to speculate that is is not the MW and possibly another galaxy. Andromeda is just the closest contender.

The Reapers couldn't travel between Galaxies, what makes you think we can? We can't. MAYBE some Asari could get there but then is the whole game just going to be about the Asari in Andromeda? No.

I never said it's something we've never seen before. I said it doesn't look like a Galaxy I recognise - because it's been made to look fancy. It just looks like a fancy projection of the Milky Way.

Because the Reapers come form outside the MW. Ships can be designed to become completely self reliant. It's not hard to visualize.

That's just too contradictive. If it's not recognizable then how can you rule out it's not another galaxy. By the same token if it's not recognizable then how can you exercise certainty that it is the MW?

... that doesn't make sence

Who says the Reapers couldn't? They didn't have a problem taking the long way from dark space. If they reverse engineered Prothean stasis pod technology, there's no reason other species couldn't make the journey. Javik lasted 50,000 years, even if it wasn't up to the Prothean standard, 500-600 should be doable. Then there's the Citadel Relay option that could potentially shorten the journey

So you'll dismiss that but feel comfortable in taking that vague silhouette to be a Prothean?

The Reapers come from Dark Space, though - not another Galaxy. They wait in Dark Space with their engines off and then spend years trying to get back in the MW. It doesn't matter if the ship is self-reliant - there would only be Asari there unless everyone was put in cryostasis and what would be the point?

Travelling to another Galaxy just doesn't make sense. How would they even have a Galaxy Map of another Galaxy? If we haven't even mapped out 1% of the MW in like 3000 years, how would they have mapped out another in like 100? It's not another Galaxy because it is just SO implausable.

The Reapers had to disable their engines while they were waiting in dark space to conserve power, even they couldn't travel between Galaxies - they'd run out of fuel first. Even if the Citadel Relay fired them into dark space, what's the point? What is the point in going to another Galaxy? We haven't explored 1% of the MW - why bother going to another Galaxy instead of just exploring the one we have.

How is that a vague silhouette at all? Do you even know what a silhouette is? You can easily make out the features of a Prothean.

Its not implausible at all. Especially if they jump ahead a few centuries after the arrival in Andromeda, which has been my assumption all along. Stasis pods already exist in ME anyway.

Yes, while they waited for 50,000 years. That's a the time it would take to get to Andromeda x1000. They were waiting for something to happen without knowing when it would happen, of course they turned the engines off.

The point is a fresh start with the species we've come to know over the years without the baggage of previous games and forcing a canonization of the endings. Its something new. A game in the Milky Way can't shed those links to the ME3 ending.

I see a grey figure in armor with red on top. It could be a Prothean I guess, its too unclear to rule that out, but it looks more like armor and a helmet to me.

You honestly believe that a Reaper is not capable of travel between galaxies? And the notion of cryo has been brought up before. Hell Javik was out for 50K. Not only is cryp a good point but it's the most efficient means for all the races.

We have the means right now.. in our own RL, to take pictures and map out other worlds with the Keplar (looks at avatar) telescope. I think it's well within the boundaries of reason that we would have the tech to map out another galaxy.

We don't NEED a fresh start. There's only been 3 games! Why do you want a reboot 7 years into the Universe's life?! The previous games don't bring baggage, they make the future of the Universe more interesting and give it more depth. If Bioware can figure out how to do it properly, it'll be great.

I am 99.9% sure that we're in MW. They're just not going to move it to another Galaxy. There's no point when there's so much still to do in the MW.

To distance ourselves form the forced canonization of the debacle left form ME3.

The better question is why hang around?

Stay in Europe. I want to check out the new world. ...  and Captain Columbus set sail.

You're missing my point... why would they do this? There is NO POINT IN MOVING TO ANOTHER GALAXY.

I doubt they have the technology to accurately build start-charts and map the exact locations, orbits etc of Andromeda. Again, why would they? What could possiblty drive them to just go "Yeah **** it let's just spent trillions of credits on moving out of the MW for absoloutely no reason whatsoever lol".

Oh yeah, that's a great in-game reason. So when I ask someone in-game why we moved to Andromeda, he tells me "Well Bioware fucked up the ending of ME3 so we moved out of the Galaxy to get away from bad endings."

Moving out of the Galaxy doesn't change the endings. If you picked Destroy, the Geth are gone. If you picked Control, there's Reapers still around. If you picked Synthesis, everyone is half-synthetic. The Crucible's wave affected the WHOLE GALAXY. And don't pull the "ark mission" crap because that is seriously the worst idea ever. Even if they did do an ark mission (they didn't), they would send a small amount of people and would likely only have enough to build like one colony. Is ME4 just going to be set in one colony? I guess that throws out the idea of HUGE EXPLORATION.

This completely ignores the sheer vastness of the galaxy. The Milky Way is approximately 100,000 light years in diameter, and we've only explored a small percentage of it throughout the entire trilogy, and there are still inactive relays out there. It's so unbelievably huge that there are possibilities to create stories in deep space for multiple games.
