I can't see class-restricted relationship arcs ever happening. Can you imagine how disappointing it would be to not be able to pursue a romance arc you're interested in and otherwise eligible for, but are denied because you just happen to be playing the class you enjoy the most?
 
And how would that even work? "I'm sorry Inquisitor, you're really nice and all that, and I do like you, but the fact that you chop people in half instead of blowing them up with fireballs is such a turn off. We simply aren't meant to be."
 
Edit: Sorry, I see the conversation's shifted to race restrictions now, I'm just chipping in my thoughts on the class-restriction thing I saw being thrown around earlier.

Class restrictions are no sillier the restrictions they are employing. Personally I hate all these arbitrary gates & want them all gone.

Awakening Anders only ever showed interest in gals as well.

They should't have changed him .Hope they won't make that mistake with Cullen .

Leliana isn't romancable and I'm happy for that because quite frankly, I'd be insulted if she was, I had quite a few warden with her thank you very much.

I know she's not romanceable, but putting that aside why should what your Wardens did have any bearing on who my Inquisitor can have a relationship with?  You're no better than the folks who say that because they got a random animation, she shouldn't be in the game at all.

Well there is no reason she could not have dumped the Warden. It happens. A big part of the problem with romances is everyone tends to build this picture which does not quite reflect the reality.

Because in the DA universe everyone's reality is different and conflicting. Everyone is pushing their reality onto others and it's a bit frustrating.

To a point. When it comes to people saying leave the Warden and Hawke alone I agree with that. But NPCs are independent entities,your character does not own them, whether they had a relationship or not.

Agreed. Just because one person decided to romance a NPC doesn't mean they have a monopoly on them. Thus why she should be romanceable but alas the Bioware people disagree. I romanced her and/or Alistair on most of my DA:O playthroughs. Would have been nice to maybe get some Orlesian Bard action this time but no luck lol

Think about it like this.

If they made Leliana romancable again, it's more then likely they would've had to take away from another romance, which wouldn't be all that great news for us that DID romance her in the first game.

Leliana is a great character, and was a great romance, but this time around, she feels too... Distracted as well to properly indulge in such things.

Leliana nor Morrigan for that matter will be romance able.  It was already said that any previous LI's in DA games will not be romance able again.

Good point. Didn't think of that. Still sad lol but this puts a new perspective on it. She does seem distracted and is probably way too involved in the politics to become involved in romance. I predict we have the option of making her the new Divine at the end of the game.

How do you figure? there will be probably 3 for  Straight MQuisitors - Cassandra , Scribbles and Viv. 3 for Gay Mquisitors - Solas & Dorian(one will be straight the other gay) and IB. Seems pretty fair and even to me.
