There will be somewhere between 6 and 12 ish MAJORLY different endings, I think, based off Origin and how you act, in extremes (this is a guess on my part), but each little decision also changed the ending (albeit minorly) so there could potentially be hundreds of slightly different endings.

Secondly, Dragon Age 2 will probably take place in another region so the major aspect of the ending will be npc choices, and how you handle certain things. Probably something similiar to council decision in ME 1.

Sorry, but KOTOR 2 did not end with dark side as the canon. The canon was the light side ending....see the talks about Carth and Bastila

Well i am gonna guess 6 origins have their own endings.

The Grey Warden ending.

Then a Good and Bad ending.

Maybe a Blight wins ending. Although that would just be you dying.

Hmmm. Mathematically, let's assume that there are two endings per gender per origin story (one 'good' and one 'bad' for a male and female character respectively). So that's four endings per origin story, and six origin stories gives us twenty four endings.

It's likely that Human and Elf magi have slightly different results as well. So add another two on to that.

And ffs, I want to know how my comapnions ended up! If I told Alistair he will NOT get his cheese I want to see him cry in the epilogue.

First post here on these boards.

I was pondering this topic myself, and I would guess the defining factors for the ending is good/evil, race, and class. I might be doing the math wrong, but that would be about 18 endings.  3 careers with 3 races selections and the good or evil factor.

I am not taking into account NPCs because be removing each one from the party you could try to say each ending is now technically different. They may play a factor though. They might also have blanket endings involving NPCs. Let's take Rabbit as an example. If you end the game with Rabbit in your group, maybe you get a small portion of the overall ending dedicated to what happens to Rabbit. I'm not saying they will have no representation in the endings, but I think that their endings contribution will be much more generic, perhaps 1 or 2 different ones depending on if they are your ally or not by the end of your adventure.

Yeah people were furious, so they released a mini expansion that adds 10 levels and changed 'the ending'.... ;P Don't think it really ends anymore but I haven't finished Broken Steel so I'm not sure.

Probably a few other things that can determine the ending is.



Did you side with the Dalish against the werewolves, did you side with the werewolves against the dalish or did you unite em.



Which dwarf you chose to be king. Dont know if you can hit a middle ground here.



Templars vs Mages. Which side are you on. Same as above dont know of but there should probably be a middle ground.



And a few other stuff i cant think of for the moment. Each one of these should differ the endings to some degree. I dont know if you can call them each a diffrent ending as you would have to play the game atleast 3 times to get the diffrent one's here but they should change a part of it.
