Ashley vs. Miranda

Ashley was psychotic...
Miranda has a face and voice which are out of place..
Mind you, maybe my mind will change when I play the game.

Ok people. I know I chose Ashley in the first game in every playthrough save 1. But the great question remains:
Ashley or Miranda in ME2?
Im not sure, Ashley is a Soldier class and she pretty much packs a LOT of fire power. Unfortunately in my playthrough I didnt choose her during the events on Virmire. But I do think I have some insight. If you leveled up her Adrenaline Rush skill (I assume she has it in ME2 since its a Soldier skill) I think hands down Miranda would flatly get over-powered. Although if this was earlier in the game, from what I've gathered, Miranda has Biotic powers, she's like a female Kaiden, (combat-wise) and those would serve her well as Ashley wouldnt have developed any of her lethal abilities to their sharpest yet. Ashley would basically be a floating, blue pinata.
Im not sure if you are asking this in a hand-to-hand situation though. Unless you want them to stand in front of each other and melee the living crap out of the person in front of them. At that point Id say Ashley would win since her Soldier skills would mean she has straight-up more health points in a slugfest.
So over-all its 2:3 Ashley. If Miranda has any hopes of beating Ashley, she needs to strike early, and fast.

My thinking though, what if Ash has moved on, it has been two years since Shep died, if he does get to see her, she might be like, I moved on, I found another, he comforted me blah blah blah.
Or she might get pissed I didn't come find her right when came back to life, and if she is still with the alliance, and might be mad that i am working with Cerberus. So again, I will wait and see if I get to talk to her, and if I do, I will see how the conversation unfolds then make my decision then.
Of ourse what If i dont see her until the last part of the game, then I waste chances with Miranda.....DOH.

I like Miranda. She seems like she will be a deeper character. I also like how in the future bras are built into clothing.
You got that right!

Well one of my sheps is with liara and the other ash. But i know am going to cheat on both anyway. The one with ash will most like go with miranda. I think Miranda will actually be good character looking at some videos. Shes not as bad as i first thought, i think the video i saw was a sci v fi one where she talks about herself not having the spark to lead people in hell and back while shepard does. Plus shes hot ../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png

Ashley's dead and Liara can take a long walk on a short pier. Will Shepard was only interesting in Liara because she was blue. And Subject Zero's clearly a dirty space skank. So maybe on the second playthrough...

hahaha funny to see everyone flock towards the girl with the Larger breast XD
Sure...like in this joke:
A millionaire is asked to choose between three women in a TV show. He gives each of 'em 1000 dollars so that they prepare a first date. That'll show how each of them handle money and responsibility and of course what taste they have.
The first woman goes all classic: The best table in the best restaurant in the city. The evening goes well and he thinks: "The food was delicious, the conversation nice and she has quite a good taste."
The second woman tries to be more herself and invites him to cinema and theater, giving the rest of the money to an aid organization. The evening also runs very well and he thinks: "The movie was great and the theater play very funny. Plus she has a great and caring character. She could be a good wife."
And the thirs goes all superlative: Football endgame, VIP-lounge, personal butlers and only the most exotic food. He thinks: "She knows how to have fun, we could have a life full of action."
So...who does he choose?
THE ONE WITH THE HUGE ******!

I hope that there's a fight scene (possibly with pillows) between Miranda and Ashley over Shepard. They will hopefully be in their nighties or towels or something.
This.

While I could abide Ashley’s misplaced patriotism and initial ignorance, she was susceptible to reason and, with some coaxing, put aside her misgivings about aliens and the council. Miranda on the other hand is an active agent of an organisation bent on furthering the interests of humanity at any cost, even to the detriment of galactic society as a whole. As a Spectre; I consider Cerberus to be an enemy, and by extension Miranda too.
But it’s also personal; as a “Sole Survivor” Cerberus was responsible for the tragedy at Akuze; they screwed Shepard (me) over and that cannot be forgotten or forgiven in my opinion. Whatever Faustian pact I’ve made with them I’ll assume is for the greater good or I can’t imagine that Shepard would go through with it; however I’m determined to resume pursuing their destruction once this threat has been neutralised with great fervour.
To be honest, I find my preference liberating. As someone who’s vehemently opposed to what Cerberus stands for and the philosophy that their operatives must espouse I’m glad that I won’t have to sully my hands as much as I would have had I been actively seeking Miranda’s favour. While I hold a theory that I can salvage Jacob with a strong enough argument I’m actually looking forward (perhaps with a self-righteous glee that borders on perversion) to smiting Ms Lawson and her cohorts.
If I have my way; that dying star behind the Illusive Man will be more symbolic than he could possibly know…

Also, I don't really get all these assumptions that Miranda is completely fanatical about her cause in Cerberus. I don't get it. Did BioWare mention this somewhere? Does working with Cerberus instantly mean = evil? You can argue very easily that Cerberus isn't even that evil, they just have different priorities. I seriously don't get all this 'because Miranda is completely indulged into her cause' stuff. She works for Cerberus, yes. But she's also bitter from being used all her life, so I'd assume she doesn't have the most heartwarming feelings towards Cerberus.

Cascadus: “I should have known the Citadel Council were plotting to take over!”
Grand Rider: “Cascadus, Cerberus is evil!”
Cascaudus: “From my point of view the Citadel Council is evil!”
Grand Rider: “THEN YOU ARE LOST!!!”
ROFL!
Seriously though; while Cerberus’ goal to elevate humanity to a position of security and strength has merit, their methods on the other hand are far from noble. From their secret labs that conduct unethical research to their involvement in manipulating the political landscape and even endangering and outright destroying the lives of the very people they claim to serve through exposing them to hazardous materials (read Mass Effect Ascension).
It’s one thing to find Miranda attractive but let’s get one thing straight: Cerberus are the bad guys. And Miranda is a card carrying “loyalist” (see her “Fight for the lost” clip on the official site to fully understand the reference).
While we may discover that she enjoys long walks by the beach, has a puppy and enjoys knitting in her spare time she’s still not adverse to the way that Cerberus conducts itself. Thus by association; how could there be any doubt of her or her organisations’ place on the moral spectrum?

To make an omellete you have to break a few eggs. Seriously though, this debate has raged on forever and considering that there is no way to make biotics short of ezero exposure, what's the alternative? Any combat action against Biotics whilst your side without would surely be a mistake due to the control biotics represent.
Have you considered that perhaps Cerberus has to work in the dark because they wouldn't be allowed to be in the light? Can you imagine what progress they'd make by 'calling for volunteers?' Much like today's temperament Cerberus would be crucified if it's activities became known to the galaxy at large, their successes would be marginalized because of people with the air of self-righteousness.
I agree, they are at best, morally grey but I also believe that they are needed and that they are what they are forced to be. I don't see them as bad however, truth to be told, I feel that as all too dismissive. Hopefully, Bioware will challenge both of our positions throughout the course of the game however.
OT however, Miranda does show hints of being a very complex character (plus she's Yvonne Strahovski) and Ash was kinda... boring to be honest (although on the playthroughs where I didn't kill her, I always romanced her since I find romance to Liara, an alien... perverse in a sense)

Ashley: Religious, militaristic, xenophobic, jealous, doesn't look too great, doesn't want to experiment (not even a threesome, pfft).
Miranda: Perfect body, intelligent, seems open for stuff.
