I have preferences, one of those is playing as a Male character. That preference supersedes almost all others when it comes to RPGs. So yes, you could say that part of the problem lies with me, but I was under the impression Bioware games like to give the player a choice, not take it away.
Congratulations, you've just got a GLIMPSE of what gay gamers go through.
You'll manage, after all, all of them did.

But it would be absurd if they didn't take any options away, as well as unrealistic.
I mean, by not making the protagonist the first of their race to be born with wings, they took away our choice to engage in winged combat. By giving us a choice between male and female, they took away our choice to be a hermaphrodite.
By giving our inquisitors 2 hands, they took away the option to have a third hand that could continually ****** slap the enemy we're fighting.
You cannot make a game without removing the aspect of choice from at least some things, and in my opinion, the sexualities of others should be one of those things for realism's sake.
Let me get this straight.... You plan on playing a game with Dragons, Demons, Magic, and a freaking hole in the sky leading to another dimension, and this is where you care about realism? Having certain people not willing to bone you because they're not interested in what's between your legs? No, this is a game, not real life.

Meaning, that character won't bone you anyway, regardless of what is between your legs, because that character is not real.

You could also look at it like this: BioWare just made the choice of playing as a female Inquisitor a lot more attractive for you.
I much rather have her a player-s
Completely in context.
1. I want men to have sex with this women.
2. This women doesn't like men.
3. I am personally offended because I find her attractive.
4. I demand she be attracted to men.
This is the logic you're using and I honestly can't find any way to interpret this thread but insanely creepy.
Except the Femme Forearms bit, that game is great.
.
Nope. Nothing wrong with having Companions sexuallty depending on the player. Hell it's called role playing. How about give is all choices. so we can decied for oursleves. It's my game, why shouldn't I have her as an option ? Even if she is a lesbian, even if she is hard to get, why not ? If i make her happy she might/might not want me. But how would I know if can't even try to get her. There is always the option to make her harder to get for male PC, and easier for females. So why not ?

Yes, because the dragons, demons and majic are an actually part of the game lore.
If the culture in dragon age was that there is no such thing as sexuality, that would be 100% fine. But we know that isn't the case.
We are still allowed to expect realism with respect to the things that aren't supposed to be out of the ordinary.

They never will, and that opinion is completely fine.
but you shouldn't knowingly restrict yourself like that. at least give it a go.
For some of us, playing a Bioware game is essentially inserting ourselves into the story. This is why, no matter how hard I try, I never complete a Female or Renegade playthrough of Mass Effect (and believe me, I've tried a lot of times). It just isn't me.

Unless Sera's content drops significantly for characters on the friendship path, this is really nothing to be sad about. Surely you all must have had favorite companion characters from previous Bioware games, who were not the love interest for your player character?

You are aware that you basically are arguing that any game that has unrealistic qualities should be one in which literally anything is possible?Let me get this straight.... You plan on playing a game with Dragons, Demons, Magic, and a freaking hole in the sky leading to another dimension, and this is where you care about realism? Having certain people not willing to bone you because they're not interested in what's between your legs? No, this is a game, real life.

But our own choices should still be limited by other factors, like not having wings or being able to see through walls etc.

DA still exists in a world with many parallels to our own. It has to so it can be relate-able, people didn't like the "all bisexual" thing because of realism.

That's fine. But you should still accept that, while YOUR character can be influenced by your personality, the other characters shouldn't.

I planned to make an elf inquisitor that would care about improving the lot of city elves, and romancing Sera, it just made sense in my head. But after reading this, i guess i will go back to playing the boring human mage that only cares about mages and just screw the elves.
That´s right, nobody is helping the elves in my game now.
