For some of us, playing a Bioware game is essentially inserting ourselves into the story. This is why, no matter how hard I try, I never complete a Female or Renegade playthrough of Mass Effect (and believe me, I've tried a lot of times). It just isn't me.
Thank you, and here I thought I was the only one.

One common thing in all iterations if fantasy is that people are always people no matter how special or important they are. They have emotions they have prefrences it doesn't matter if they can hurl a fireball or not. The characters are what take Bioware games to the next level and if all characters are the same in their likes and prefrences then its boring.Let me get this straight.... You plan on playing a game with Dragons, Demons, Magic, and a freaking hole in the sky leading to another dimension, and this is where you care about realism? Having certain people not willing to bone you because they're not interested in what's between your legs? No, this is a game, not real life.

I planned to make an elf inquisitor that would care about improving the lot of city elves, and romancing Sera, it just made sense in my head. But after reading this, i guess i will go back to playing the boring human mage that only cares about mages and just screw the elves.
That´s right, nobody is helping the elves in my game now.
That's your fault not bioware's.
There's no reason why it would be necessary for a person who cares about elves to romance sera.

Welp on the bright side now i wont have to choose between her and Cassandra for my male inquisitor, and she also wont have competition for my female......unless Dorian is bi, then he will be competition for both

Tell it it ain't so pleaseee ! That just isn't fair ! She was the only girl from the companions that I really, REALLY liked both outside and inside.
Now we are stuck with miss manly and the mage(which is not confirmed)(I HATE YOU MAGES), Why not make her like Leliana ? I mean both open for male and female inqusitiors, or like Zevran ?
Like the Rolling Stones song.... "You can't always get what you want."
If we can't always get what we want in real life....that should mean with games too.
And no offense but you need to grow out of your shallowness. There is NOTHING wrong with the other characters.

That's fine. But you should still accept that, while YOUR character can be influenced by your personality, the other characters shouldn't.
I can and do accept that. That doesn't mean I can't be disappointed, though. My mood is roughly consistent with how I would feel if I met a girl at a party that I thought I was hitting it off with, who ends up telling me she's a lesbian. Just disappointed.

So which romances are left for straight male PC? Cassandra and that's it (aside of unknown ATM NPC's)?

It's my game, why shouldn't I have her as an option ? Even if she is a lesbian, even if she is hard to get, why not ? If i make her happy she might/might not want me. But how would I know if can't even try to get her. There is always the option to make her harder to get for male PC, and easier for females. So why not ?
Because that's not how it works
"Lesbian" does not mean "slightly harder to get her on my dick", "Lesbian" means "woman who likes women", the end.

As a lesbian myself, I am quite happy that Bioware have included a lesbian romance and she is actually in the party and I really hope they don't change it. I think perhaps you should wait to hear all the options before you make any assumptions.
As a side-note, I also find Cassandra to be very attractive, not so much in a conventional sense but attractive nonetheless.

Oh my god, can we stop referring to Cassandra as a 'she-man'?
Just because she isn't all ethereal and mysterious and fights with a sword doesn't make her any less female.
Wel, I don't call her a "she-man" because of her preferred weapon, but because of her attitude and conduct. She is a character on the good-side but with a more stoic personality. So I call her a she-man, with direct reference to the He-Man character. If she was evil, then I'd look at her as...

You wouldn't want me to call her that do you?

I assume the other 2 lady squaddies are. One will go both ways, the other won't.
I wonder if Cullen being a romance option means that Leliana (if unromanced in DAO) and Scribbles are romanceable too. Wouldn't be crazy considering that the party is like 6 dudes and 3 ladies. Balances it out a bit.

Lol, straight dudes crying. Who would've expected that? Glorious.
Its so weird. It must be an age thing. My husband has no issues. He will roll male characters and female characters. But then again he calls out all the sexism that runs rampant when it comes to games.
I guess I am lucky to be married to be married to someone who is no whiny dude.

Okay here is an exmaple. Imagine Cullen being made homosexual only ? Would that not put the forum on blaze. Every hetero will be heartbroken it's same with my inqusitior and Sera.

Its already been stated Leliana will be one that it not romanceable. The same with Cole.

Still, it seems really bad to say she is like a man because she is stoic ![]()
