An issue I have always had when creating characters in Bioware games is not being able to try out my character/class before I play. Whether I just want to see how my character looks in motion or get a feel for my class I feel it is incredibly difficult and tiresome in previous games. There is always a lengthy prologue you have to grind through in order to see the results of your work.

so could it be possible to have a small "test" area to play around in? Something to see our characters face in different lighitng and all possible angles and maybe even try out the starting skill of the different classes. If anyone is familiar with SPORE that game had a test area for creation that worked pretty well but of course that is a different game. Perhaps even something like the Assassins creed "loading screens" could work for this purpose.

Just something to aid us players choose the character we will be spending many hours with over the course of the game without constantly having to restart the game. Something I am sure Mass Effect 2 players were quite familiar with.

AcR had a test area for the grenades. It was just a blank animus room with a couple people to test grenades on. You could literally just blow people up until you found your perfect grenade. Though dragon age doesn't have an animus... as far as I know.

No, but in Dragon Age people are not born through character creation screens eithre.

Or do they?

I like the way character creation was handled in Morrowind and Oblivion. you make the character, play a little introduction segment with some tutorial elements for new players and at the end of it you're asked to confirm the choices. it means you get to 'test drive' the character a little first and has the added bonus of allowing a save game just before confirmation to skip the tutorial for future playthroughs (hopefully the introduction will be fun enough to not want to skip it though)

Good point, forgot all about bethesda's method of handling this. That could work as well.

Here's where a standalone CC and demo would come in handy.

The devs said no mirror on release but it might be available later as DLC. This means I get to restart sooooo many times. ;D...... :'c

It would be a nice idea, but if it was implemented at all it would have to be in the next game, as they're likely to far in schedule and too busy to devote time and resources to that.
