GTX 780s cannot have 4GBs of RAM, you may be confusing it for GTX 770. Regardless you're good for max settings at 60fps.

really? There might be something I'm missing but dxdiag reports I have 4095 MB of VRAM. It is a 780.

Probably since you have a 144Hz monitor.

Probably, we don't know how dual GPUs will scale yet. I suggest you wait and see how one does first.
@TheViper8234 no worries, you have a solid rig.

Download GPUZ and check there too, if it still says 4GBs then I stand corrected. And regardless that is pretty cool anyway.

sounds like a flawed dxdiag the 780 only has 3GB like the 780Ti the 770 has 4GB the only exception is the new 780 that comes with 6GB

On a 780Ti probs not if your running at 1920x1080 unless your pushing for 144FPS+,the single R9 290 I currently have while awaiting my second one for crossfire easily runs a heavily modified Skyrim on ultra in 1920x1080@257FPS in at Dragons Reach with Vsync off with it on its limited to 60 since I'm using a 60hz 32 inch HDTV till the prices on 2K monitors drop a little more. YMMV

Your card should handle DAI no problem with everything high.  144hz monitor doesn't mean 144fps that you need to run it at.

I'm just worried about my i5, already getting a little rusty. I'm quite OCD about anti-aliasing so I may need to upgrade for Witcher 3.

Nvidia 800 series should be out by either late September or October. I would hold off on buying a new GPU right now unless you absolutely must get one.

I am sure you mean 16gb ram? But that system you have should be more than enough to run DA:I and probably high. I've got the same setup (although my i5 is unlocked and can get quite a big higher that 3.40). You should be fine for this game. A 660ti is still a good gaming card.

Now Witcher 3 might be another story yet I still think your i5 and your memory are fine for that. But given it's still 6 months out and no specs are out for that game I would agree with the guy who says not to buy another card. 800 series should be out by early 2015 and prices on some of the higher 700 series should come down which should be fine for Witcher 3. Just put a kitty aside for a new gpu in six months or so.

I suppose it's because there is still the air of mystery surrounding the PC System Requirements (and me, well, I pre-ordered way back as soon as news of that option was available from my local EB Games/Gamestop store), but my ANT (automatic negative thought) producer is causing me to worry that my system will have trouble. (Nightmares of Dark Forces Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast come to the forefront of my imagination....had to wait nearly 3 years before I got a system that could run it flawlessly even though what I had at the time was well above Recommended Specs- for some reason that is unknown it ran like garbage).  Needless to say, I don't want an episode like that to happen again....though in hindsight that was my luck with games from (now defunct) LEC.

The ANT-Killer in me is telling me that, more logically, the system I have will be more than enough to play with everything set on HIGH (if not totally maxed out to Ultra) with few to no problems at all.  But as I said...it's the fear of the 'as of yet unknown' that is making me worry that Bioware has or will optimize DAI for specs that are ultra-high-end and/or future-proofed and as of yet still unreleased (ie Haswell-E, Broadwell, DDR4 or even the rumoured "Skyline" Processor etc), which would render the game completely unplayable for the vast majority of PC Gamers....which is something they would surely not want or intend to do. Logic dictates that that is an absurd notion.

Current Specs to Date include:

CPU:Intel 4770 @ 3.4 Ghz (standard version) w/ Corsair H60 Liq. Cooler (moddified w/ Dual Rear Fans @ 140mm each)

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI HERO

RAM:  32 Gigs of G-Skill DDR3 @ 1600 Mhz (Dual Channel Config)

GPU: EVGA 4 GB 760 Dual FTW (single GPU running in a PCI-e 3.0 x 16 slot)

HDD: 1 TB West Dig. Caviar Black w/ 64 MB Cache @ 7200 RPM

SSD:  Samsung EVO 840 (500 GB)

Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster P2770 w/ 1ms RT @ 1920x1080

PSU: Corsair 750 watt 80+Gold

Case: CoolerMaster HAF X Full Tower

**Only time will tell....and so I/we must patiently wait until the Devs complete the process and post the news to all of us.

Happy Gaming to all!  :)

@EnergizerBunny211;  Your rig is almost identical to mine. (I have a slightly newer ASUS Z97-C mb, only have 16GB of DDR3 dual-channel RAM although @ 2133MHz, and a 2TB Seagate SSHD.  But also have a GTX770.)

I have zero worries that I'll be able to enjoy DA:I at the max settings!  ;)

I think people gravitate to max settings too much when certain options can be adjusted that give almost no graphical improvement yet can still reduce performance by half.

Also, I don't really believe in waiting for hardware unless it's quite literally around the corner. Upgrade when you need a performance increase. You can wait, and yes, there will be new hardware.. and then you can wait some more because there will be price drops.

It's not necessarily a bad thing to purchase any card out now rather than wait what's ahead, because you have to keep in mind that even the HD 7970 launched at $600, and can now be easily found below $250. These things still kick ass.

Thandal...thank you for your reply. As I said though in my previous post...we'll all have to wait and see what the Devs turn out, though I'm sure we'll all be wrong (some might be close with their predictions, of course, some closer than others) but ultimately I'm sure the Devs will provide specs that are favourable for us.

Happy Gaming!

Hahahaha yes, big typo there. 16MB ram, wowee. Alright cool, thanks - I can run BF4 on Ultra so this should be okay.

Yeah, I'm mainly worried about Witcher 3. It's going to be quite resource-hogging and CDPR did a bad job at optimising Witcher 2, though it did look fantastic.

It's because ubersampling is incredibly demanding, and the effect that it provides is so extremely subtle that the performance hit just isn't worth it.

As for the previous post, I did not find Witcher 2 to be poorly optimized at all. With the exception of enabling ubersampling, I can run the game at highest settings with a GTX 580 on 2560x1440 and still easily get 50+ fps most of the time.

Well let me put it this way about Witcher 2. When I first bought it I had a dualcore with a GTX 9800 and it ran well and looked beautiful. In 2013 I bought a new rig with the unlocked i5 that can push about 4.3 and the gtx 660ti and the Witcher 2 looks like crap with that. Worse than it did on the older rig and I was completely baffled. I think the fault is on their end and how they optimize their games and I suspect they had better do a better job of it with the new game or they will price a lot of people out of playing it right away.

Heck I hated the combat in that game too and the qte's and the wonky dialogue. I may be in a minority in the gaming world but I am actually a bit more optimistic about this game and that I'll enjoy it more and I am also more confident my current rig will run it pretty well than I am the Witcher blessed 3.

You should be able to play smoothly at ultra settings.

Wondering about my laptop - I don't intend to push the graphics above mediumish, but I'm worried my GPU won't even be able to handle that.  I've got an i7 Core, but my GPU is the GT635M which is kinda ****.  It handles Frostbite 3 decently when I tried it out, but I'm worried DAI will be more intensive...

You might be able to,though generally my advice is if you want to play anything  more modern then minecraft don't use a laptop they are not very good at dealing with heat but YMMV even the gaming laptops I would avoid

I dunno if I speak for him. But I'm completely unable to get a rig because I have no space what so ever and I need the laptop's portability. It's difficult as a gamer ;-;
