Instead of dual R9 3GB would one R9 8 GB serve me better?

I'm not really that knowledgeable with computer specs so will my laptop be good for DAI?

CPU: Intel Core I7-4700HQ 2.4Ghz

RAM 8GB DDR3

GPU Geforce GTX 770m (3GB GDDR5)

Well You'll have a hard time getting a R9 290X 8GB as they are all sold out except one which is being offered in a competition that is only open to those in the EU, your best bet is to get a R9 290/290X 4GB and add a second one later, just don't get one with the reference turbine cooler as they run very hot and loud.

Right now the most powerful and coolest running ones are the Saphire Vapor X range and the Powercolor PCS+ OC range if your going for a "themed" build that is blue get the saphire model otherwise get the powercolor as its plain black and goes with anything

SLI and Crossfire doesn't stagger VRAM to my knowledge. If you have two 4GB R290's you do not have 8GB VRAM. Personally I've always been a big proponent of one GPU at the highest price point you can afford, instead of running SLI/Crossfire setups with cheaper individual cards. Unless you're mining BITCOIN or something.

If you play e.g. a modded Skyrim with HighRes textures and Flora Overhaul, 2GB is the bottom limit.

I'll share all my M&T and V&G mods with you so you know what I play with:

M&T:

aMidian book of silence

Book covers

SFO

Skyrim HD - 2K textures

Tobes Highres textures

V&G:

Enhanced Blood Textures

SMIM

I seem to be able to play the game fine with just 2GB of VRAM.  Also I'm at 3.14 GB of RAM just having steam, browser, and NMM open.

I have GTX 660 and i5 2500k, so I hope I'll be able to play it on High in 1080p.

I hope they do a better work at optimalization than in DA2. This game literally choked my rig at highest settings for no apparent reason, as it looks horrible.

I was able to confortably play games like Tomb Raider (ultra without TressFX), Witcher 2 (Ultra without ubersampling) or Far Cry 3/Max Payne 3 on High/Ultra mix with decent framerate, but DA2 gave my GPU a really hard time, for no obvious reason whatsoever. I mean, that game would drop below 30 FPS.

I'll probably upgrade soon, but first I neeed to save some cash - and wait until NVidia Maxwell series is released.

No, it doesn't work that way unfortunately. You still have 2GB.

High at least, tweaked ultra.

Use the free basic Heaven benchmark and see how good your system is.  This will push your GPU to 100% load.

I'm positive a GTX 580 will be enough for games such as Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Witcher 3, but I need an upgrade because I'm playing games on 2560x1440 resolution.

So there's this: http://www.kdramasta...equirements.htm

I really can't imagine that this rumor is true, especially since I only saw it in one place, but if it were... :o

you are not gonna need a high end rig to play this game you won't  need any thing over  i3  and evga gt 740 to run this on ultra remember this game is also coming out on the  less powerfull game systems after all

the witcher 3 was gonna be released this month but was pushed back to february  24th  i feel the reason the game was pushed back was due to the craptasic xbox one and ps4 there having to build the game 3 times once for each platform  as for DA:1 if you can run BF4 i think your good to go

Yeah my system checks out for recomended and a bit above for it, so not worry just curious about the extact details since bf 4 had over esitmented specs at the start of it. But think DICE has fixed some of the base bugs in the frostbite engine and hopefully passed that onto anyone using the engine.

Yeah, it's weird. That article was released today, but the rumor is months old. I just thought it was funny someone would seriously say that a game would have requirements that high.

I'm sure something like this was posted before, but want to confirm it.
If I can run BF4 on... well let's call it medium, do you think I will be able to run DA:I on my laptop ?

Pentium DC B960 2.2 GHz
Radeon HD 8750M 1GB
8GB

My computer has an AMD R9 280x with an AMD FX™-8320 Eight Core Processor with GDDR5 and 16.0 GB of RAM. Is that good enough?
