My main problem is that I had a friend of mine assemble the PC for me.

Like I said on an earlier post, I've been using systemrequirementslab.com (my PC recently crashed) to try and figure out if my PC is compatible with BF4's minimum requirements.

What I managed to discern from my PC's hardware was:

-Windows Vista SP2 (obvious.)

-Intel Core running at least at 3.0 GHz (since I can run Just Cause 2)

-Video Card: GeForce 9400 GT 512 mb (I have the box)

The only thing I'm not certain about is the RAM. 4 Gb. All the games I have required 2 Gb. However, once I repair my PC, I'll try and install a game which requires more than 2 Gb just to test it out (Like Crysis 2)

You can find your specs by opening a program called dxdiag. Just press windows logo + R and type dxdiag in the box, then hit enter.

Almost all motherboards use something Chinese. China has some quality over there. Not everything is crap from China. Mostly when companies like EVGA put their brand on a motherboard or something else...it's still made in China. I will agree that American companies typically have much better return policies and customer support for us. I've personally used many ASUS products and heard about their terrible CS. Luckily, their products are built like tanks and I've never needed to send anything back to them.

And yeah, EVGA is awesome. Only company I use for my GPUs because their CS and returns are so silky smooth. Going to be building a new PC soon and I'm thinking about buying an EVGA PSU to go with the GPU. Those G2 Supernovas look sexy.

I typically find that smaller companies are better at CS because they must please every customer. They can't afford to lose loyalty while a company like ASUS losing loyalty isn't going to hurt them as much since they have such a massive market. They make everything from mobos to monitors or even routers.

i used to have the evga 600b but upgraded to the 850 g2 supernova when i got my evga 780 ti kingpin  i love my  PSU my frist full modular easy hook up  you will love it

Seriously considering Alienware. I move like every other month and just can't carry a tower and all the peripherals. Man, games aren't a good hobby for nomads.

I bought a desktop from them in 2008. It was a disaster.

They didn't include all the parts I ordered, customer service was appalling, and then I had components fail regularly. I had failures in the RAM, PSU, and one HDD. Plus, there wasn't adequate cooling in the box for my 2 GPUs.

I cannot recommend Alienware. I'm instead buying parts from NewEgg and building a new rig myself.

I just have to state, that for Laptop gaming - Alienware has great deals for high end products.  Over two years ago, I purchased a laptop from them that had a 7970M, i7 3610QM, and a 17" for $1700 (which at that time, the 7970M was the best laptop graphic card on the market).  Couldn't find a better deal any where else.  Though no clue what their prices are today.

Highly recommened cyberpower.com for your custom rig needs.   you can get ANYTHING you want and they have something for any budget.

DELL owns Alienware. Alienware was better when it was Independent Company.

You could also use digital storm.

I built a few PCs, but much later down the road I plan to use 'em...it's just SO much more convenient.

I would second this recommendation.  I used them for my computer and it has been extremely reliable and the one time I had a problem they quickly fixed it for me at no charge.  Love them.

Looks like the 8800GT is the minimum card, and that card is faster than the 9400GT. So I would say no, you don't meet the minimum requirements for Battlefield 4. Here's a link to where I found my information.

Probably about a month before it releases.

They said it's supposed to be this month.

Did they say that before or after the delay? If they said it before the delay then you should probably wait until next month.

I can play Battlefield 4 on Medium Settings.  I have a strong enough processor and 16 gigs of RAM. My videocard is a

Sapphire Ultimate Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 - I will likely be upgrading that to something better eventually.

Look at the minimum settings of Battlefield.   The system requirements will likely be similar for Inquisition.

Same here; I got my computer from Cyberpower last December, and their customer service is excellent. I had a problem with my system only one time, and they fixed it free of charge. Highly recommended.

Well my PC is pushing five years now, IIRC got it a few months before DAO came out. You guys think I should be able to run DAI with these specs? Seems to check out for BF4 minimums:

-Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.130707-1535)

-Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU         920  @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
-Memory: 9206MB RAM
-DirectX Version: DirectX 11

And I have a AMD 4870 HD (1GB) card.

If you're in the UK, I would recommend Chillblast. Got my first pre built from them and I didn't have any problems at all. q

your best bet is to start from scratch a 4870 just isn't going to cut it and with Vista your computer's security is at risk at best you might manage low/medium settings but its going to cook your GPU

Speculation, the system requirements will likely come late this month or early october. Derek French said this month, so i'm more leaning to the former.

This is a very important issue for me. I am awaiting anxiously news on the specs as there is the possibility that I will have to upgrade my mobo and processor accordingly and that will not come cheap.
