I personally DO NOT want to see even an option in the conversation wheel to say "flirty" things with another dude, why would I, I like women and im not down with certain things going in a guys butt. I would rather there be no LI's in the game at all then add in a gay option..

I won't lie, I do have certain things I don't like about gay's, the fact they go around YELLING gay pride really pisses me off. You know, if it wasn't for Straight people you gay people wouldn't be here.. SO YA, BE MORE APPRECIATIVE!!!

If it wasn't for straight people, gay people wouldn't face persecution, discrimination, and violence either, so I think it's about even.

A facepalm emoticon would come in handy right about now.

I don't know what to say other than that most gay people aren't very ostentatious about their sexuality, and that you naturally only notice the ones who are, but it looks like you've made up your mind about them.

"Same sex DLC"
Do you really see that happening?

"Mass Effect 2: Gay Sex"

Critical review
"A amazing way to have gay sex in a game"-Gaygamer

Features
"Have steamy gay sex"

I mean, nothing against gay people, but this is just plain ridiculous...

Even if you meant that the DLC would include a gay party member that you know, could do other things, and had some other content, I think right now their are too many social stigmas that prevent society at large from embracing the "Gay guy DLC"

Plus, what are you doing right now? You're YELLING straight pride. It's the same thing, so you're either hypocritical, or a troll.

Unless Bioware does something very Bioware-like and kills off that relationship early somehow, dissapointing thousands again.

How is that Bioware like? Has Bioware done anything like that in the past?

I mean, you're upset, I get that. But lets keep the drama to a minimum. Or make another thread about it I guess. Five threads all complaining about the same thing on the front page would be some kinda hilarious.

I refer to the cutting of gay Ashley and Kaiden content in ME1. You know, how they recorded all the dialogue for it and then abandoned it? It's still in the game files.

wait..... my FemShep could have romanced ashley!!!??
why oh why would you cut that out!? *cries*

To be honest? Without introducing new characters, yeah it would be kinda strange. You know how it could have been avoided? BY INCLUDING IT IN THE GAME ALREADY LIKE BIOWARE HAS DONE WITH EVERY GAME SINCE JADE EMPIRE.

If it make sense storywise for the characters involved to be homosexual then so be it. If not, then so be it. Putting homosexuality in a game just for the sake of it is just bad story telling. If none of the NPCs are homosexual then there shouldn't be any homosexual romances in the game. Homosexuality is only representative in 2% of our population, and usually found in larger families with 3 or more children. I doubt that by the 22nd century that large families would be the exception, and not the rule as even in the 20th and 21st centuries larger families are slowly going the way of the dodo.

Bioware should only put in the game what makes sense and consistent within the setting. May that be homoseuxal romances, nudity, or any content really.

eh.   I'm playing them game as we speak, and I'm not halfway through yet, but I don't think anyone in my squad is gay.   Unless garrus pulls a fast one on me.    (Pre-ordered from amazon, pirated to have early access :P cuz games shipping feb 3rd)

Though you know what?   I wouldn't be surprised at all if when I'm in bed with "Jack" (Subject 0), and "she" suddenly pulls out a penis xD

The statistic in western countries is actually 2 to 13% and it is commonly believed that the U.S. and canada are around 10%(close to the amount of Latinos, just saying) Plus, it doesn't have to be them being gay. Sometimes, and I know this is a shocker, it's more about love than sex, so people can ignore the gender.

Finally, if there is ANYONE you would cross the line for, wouldn't it be the greatest hero in the history of the galaxy?

Doesn't mean she couldn't have been BI.
Then both my canon maleshep and my femshep could've had her!

You need to get out more, really, the 5% of gay people that are actually yelling "gay pride" isn't representative of the whole, I imagine you've never even seen a gay person let alone talked to one and your assumptions of how they act and speak are manifestations of the media's archetype gay male.

If you couldn't even stand having the "flirty" option on one of the convo wheels then you have some deep seated issues that you should most likely look into...

On topic, more options never hurts and anyone saying "a little late now isn't it?" doesn't understand the intention of these threads.  This is in anticipation now of ME3, and for most of us supporters, is simply a message to Bioware about what many of us want and would like to see in ME3. (Well, at least that's MY intention)

I'm not about to cry and whine over what is officially not in ME2 but I certainly can make suggestions and voice my opinion about the potentiality of a gay option for the next game.  Tali and Garrus fans got their way by doing exactly whats going on here, being vocal and persistant.

Really, if anything, the trolls should just leave the threads as they're not gonna stop...  You people seem to be the ones most upset by what's going on which is funny as that comes off as homophobic and in a way discrimanatory with regards to the homosexual community (not that all the trolls are those things, just the impression of).  Just ignore the threads and this won't be an issue, I hate the idea of Talimance and for 2 years those threads dominated the old boards, but I simply ignored them, I will also simply ignore the option to romance her in game...

True. I can't imagine the mockery that would be made of this game if it contained gay relationships and sex. Just picture the Shepard from the commercials being gay and kissing on other guys. Videos posted on gametrailers and youtube. The game would never reach the mainstream appeal it has today if those kind of actions were possible in the game. It'd be a joke to people and the public at large wouldn't be able to take the character seriously.

However, you still failed to reply to his point on the addition of homosexuality to the story. I actually replied quite similarly earlier in the thread, despite supporting the idea of such a character existing, assuming they fitted.

From what I can see, people seem to be constantly throwing around real-world statistics, or arguing their views on gay and bi-sexuality. Whatever happened to arguing such a thing from an artistic perspective? This IS a story after all, one that BW apparently didn't feel the need to add a gay/bi character to 0_o

But then the thread starts moving down the list and is out of the public eye, which means we have to make a new one, which apparently annoys people, so why not?
