Tree's, prepubescant children, corpses, animals, etc CANNOT give consent.  A homosexual adult can give another homosexual adult consent, it is a MUTUAL relationship.

I don't recall saying anything about prepubescent children.

An animal can most certainly consent. Get down on all fours and give your dog a shot at it. He may take it and he may not take it, but there is no arguing as to whether or not the animal consented.

That's not consent, because he's not sentient, on top of being not of legal age, and can't give consent, to a human at least.

No one "gives consent" before a sex act. They just do it when it is readily apparent that both partners are willing.

A few years back there was a scandal in which a bunch of people in Washington were filming sex videos with horses on a farm. When caught, and after reviewing the tapes and seeing no evidence of abuse or force towards the animals, they could be charged with nothing more than trespassing and were let go.

So I'm sorry to say, but you are wrong.

I wonder if Tali might still be a possibility for F/F romance, I haven't seen anything definitive that she's not. A lot of circumstantial evidence, but nothing concrete.

He seems to be just a very staunch ****** hater that will never be convinced otherwise or a very cunning (and effective, and if this is the case I applaud) troll. He says the same sorts of things in every thread of this kind. When pressed, he stated he just hates that everyone is 'whining' for same sex romance, yet apparently delights in perpetuating the whining by provoking everyone in every such thread and de-evolving it into a hate slinging contest causing it to be locked down (quite possibly to the mutual delight of the mods).

It's off topic and simply rage bait. Stop rising to his posts and you'll be happier for it.

Until I see any justification beyond the typical "well it's not hurting anyone so just let them do what they want" for homosexuality, then I see no reason why the same can't be applied to a multitude of other sexual preferences out there. If gay supporters promote homosexuality and then just  condemn all other sexual acts that deviate from just the biologically normal "man and woman" way of sex, then that person is a hypocrite at this point in the issue.

Here's a question for folks though in reference to the original topic. Support and reactions for same sex relationships of any sort is rather mixed in our day and age for a myriad of reasons. With the evident racism in the ME universe regarding other alien races, Do you think your choice in romance will in any way affect the opinions of those around you in the game? For example, a Female Shepard and Garrus, a Turian. Will their being a couple impact the story at all?

I don't think so. At least, I don't know of any official sources. But, like you, I'm thinking that given what we know right now, it's unlikely.

I totally agree! I hope the devs or whoever makes the DLC makes a same sex DLC soon if it is not in the finished game. I was angry at the fact that since I am bisexual I would want my female Sheperd get to have a romance/talk/sex with another female party member in the game, I don't think that the alien chicks are female really since it has been stated in the first game that they are basicly both, I just want a  nice old lesbain remance like we have in real life. Please.

Jane Shepard is female.

Liara was romanceable for Jane Shepard in ME thus there is a Lesbian option. If you wan the lesbian option replay ME.

Whether or not Samara will be the same is yet to be determined.

Maybe it CAN be applied to ANY sexual preference. If you take pleasure, the other one/thing/cadaver/whatever-it-is accepts and takes pleasure, too, and doesn't hurts anybody, it's OUT of your concern.

That naturally doesn't apply to pedophilics, as children aren't totally self-aware. But neither heterosexual violations.

There was confirmation that there are no F/F romances in ME2, with the caveat that Asari don't count. In regards to M/M, nothing has been said one way or the other, and attempts to ask the question in various chat events have seen the questions removed by mods rather than being asked/answered. There's been quasi confirmation that there's 3 romance options per gender, not including any Consort type flings. "If I recall correctly" was the statement used, and that number was only mentioned that single time to the best of my knowledge. That being said, there's several confirmed romances at this point, which reach that 3/3 limit, are close to, or seemingly exceed. That's what we know so far.

Meh, call me hopeless but I'm not giving up until I've played the game the way I want to play it or until a dev flat out says, clearly without beating around the bush, that it's not there.. If my advances are turned down I'll believe it but whatever. I dunno.

Edit: Either way I'll still love the game but hey, I can dream.

I've done the liara romance upwards of twenty times now. I was hoping to have at least one non-liara option, but I don't. People who can tolerate playing Mshep and/or like the hetero female romances get 9 non-liara options.

LOL my sentiments exactly. Just to express my frustration, I might end up having all the male characters bite it in the final mission. Nothing against them personally.

My hopes aren't high any longer, but I'm waiting for the game guide to be released or leaked before giving up all hope.  They've been a bit too tight lipped on the romance matter and left themselves enough loopholes when giving out info, that you'd think they'd just have come out and said one way or the other long since.
