Hey, guess what?
You want a gay romance? Get one in real life. I wouldn't have a problem with it in Mass Effect at all, but these threads are just... it's still too touchy of a subject and the amount of them is starting to grate on other people's nerves, even those who support it a bit. There was one post I remember, about how Commander Shepard never has true free will for what to do in the game. He has up to six options he can choose from, sure, but he could never refuse to send one of his squadmates with the Salarians of Virmire. He has to, no matter what. And you can't punch random people. Or get the Turian council member booted or have him be the only one killed (God, how I'd love to do that.).
So, there's a spectrum of choices Shepard can take, but they're still limited. Shepard's a straight one throughout it seems. But Mass Effect isn't a dating simulator. It's a sci-fi trilogy epic.
Or y'know, there's always the option of modding, if you're that desperate. It's a game, though. Seriously. I have never seen this much debate over a game. I guess that means BioWare did keep at least one promise for sure. Even before it's release ME2 is (oh, you saw this coming, and you know it) EMOTIONALLY ENGAGING.
Meh, I don't care either way, but you can always hope for ME3. I don't think BioWare's gonna take petitions for this kind of content too well though... it's their game, their story, and they know what they're doing with it.
Again, tell it to the Talimancers, oh wait, they got what they wanted... Bioware listens to the fans as is quite evident with ME2. Everyone just assumed that there would be a f/f or maybe even an m/m option in the game anyway so nobody was making 100 page threads about gay romance.
Also, if this game is the most debated you've ever seen you obviously didn't play MW2, THAT was the most debated game ever... EVER

It's funny, because if some random soccer mom went into this forum to check what the game she just pre-ordered for little jimmy on a recommendation from a gamestop clerk was all about, she'd get an awkward impression.
There are like 5 threads on the front page about gay romances right now. >_>
Yes, because the big "M" rating and Faux News controversy coverage wasn't enough to steer her away from getting it for little Jimmy.
...actually...it *is* funny.
Um...now to say something on topic...
I support this thread and would like my one of my FemSheps to be able to fondle Jack's delicious flat chest...? (Yay I'm a hypocrite!)

Err, why do we care about the sex anyway? We don't actually see anything. The scene is better than the blackout thing they used to do but there's better things out there to ****** to. (although that stripping video of miranda is very nice)
First and foremost it's a thing of principle (within the context of this thread). Also, it's a thing of art, the culmination of the relationship further engages you emotionally.

I played it, but I didn't see (or go on) the forums-- Oh! You mean about the third mission? Okay, yeah, well, I meant debate over something that isn't entirely critical to the story... like romance. Of which there was none at all in MW2. Still a great game though.
I played that. It gave me shivers throughout the whole game. I mean... man, I'm hoping Mass Effect 2 makes me feel the way Modern Warfare 2 did. When America was being invaded... and killing all those civilians with Makarov...? That was... brutal. And I'm definitely allowed to play mature games, not some 13 year old whose parents disregard age limits.
I'm really hoping ME2 can actually make me take a break from playing it because it's that intense.
And we still don't have confirmation Tali's a romance option (as far as I've heard)... Just SuZe, Miranda, and... well. We don't know the third option but my speculation is Samara/Normandy Assistant. And if it is known, don't spoil me. :innocent:
I just don't think Bioware would be willing to pull a move like gay romance. (I also added a couple points to my last post... for other reasons why it might not happen.

No, no. Start early, when ME3 is in conceptualization and planning. THAT'S when it actually makes a difference.

It's not that you want homosexual relations in the game that people are being irritated by it's this spamming of the boards and it is only going to do damage to your cause. But hey keep going, I bet if you ****** off enough mods/devs they'll keep the gay content out of the games simply on principle of not being forced to include it by this harassment.

You know, if you guys really want homosexuality to be included in ME3 then why don't you do something less annoying and more efficient and simply put "We want homosexual romances as DLC for ME2 and in ME3" in your sigs.

People were irritated by the Tali and Garrus spamming as well. Look what happened.

You're right, however, sex with aliens isn't quite as "down to earth" and controversial as homosexuality.

Get your political correctness out of my game. There's no gay option, you'll live. I'd rather Bioware develop content that appeals to everyone than to a small minority. If it's that big of an issue, don't play the game.
Yes! It's quite obvious that 3 heterosexual romace option per gender isn't appealing to everyone right now. If that was the case, these threads wouldn't exist.
You're right, bad phrasing on my part. I'm pretty sure you knew what I meant.
*appeals to the majority of players*,

Just Tali and Garrus are sticking to one thread, sometimes maybe two. but this is like fourth of fith one in the last couple dys.
Horses#!t. For days now, there have been three to four Tali threads constantly on the first page. They are currently kept down because of this new rage from the gay romance supporters, but just yesterday the Tali spamming was going on fast as ever.
