Just Tali and Garrus are sticking to one thread, sometimes maybe two. but this is like fourth of fith one in the last couple dys.

Horses#!t. For days now, there have been three to four Tali threads constantly on the first page. They are currently kept down because of this new rage from the gay romance supporters, but just yesterday the Tali spamming was going on fast as ever.

Just I don't think that three days before the game premiere you can make any difference. You can try it for ME 3 though.

Must we pander to the whims of every minority? I see no compelling reason to have a gay romance in ME2. I know that homosexuals are oppressed and all, but that does not mean that ME2 should have a gay romance.

And if ME2 should have a gay romance, what about other people with "different" sexual desires? Some people are sexually attracted to 16-19 year old girls, grandmothers and even robots. Since there are minorites who like this kind of stuff should ME2 have included a Chakwas or Legion romance?

I support a gay and lesbian option.

I do feel that waiting until ME3 to implement such an option is is too late. At that point, the story is nearly done.

Bioware should most definitely show some support for their gay/lesbian fanbase and include a gay option for Shepard.

I just got fed up with the several gay romance threads on these boards. I have nothing against homosexuals or gay romance in general. For crying out loud, my best friend is gay. However the amount of childish whining and incesant demand in these type of threads is just ridicilous.

And also sorry for the hostile tone. I'll try to keep it civil from now on. Image IPB

I'm not sure that a minority of people who can be attracted to 16-19 year olds actually exists. Grandmas might be a little out of the ME demographic (Chakwas is kinda hot though, in an experienced kinda way), but robotic LIs might actually be received relatively well, especially if they looked like Rachael, Pris, Batty or Deckard...

Oh yeah, on topic, I'm a hetero guy who supports any kind of LI the BioPeeps can write a compelling relationship and dialog  for, regardless of gender, species, incept date, whatever.

What? Last time I checked, the vast majority of gays cannot be indentified as being such from their voice or even their looks alone, unfortunatly the minority that can be identified as such stand out, and it has been burned into the back of everyone's mind that all gays are like that. Seriously you wouldn't be able to figure out if we were gay from just looking at us or hearing us speak.

I am all for it!

If BioWare wants to remain true RPG God they must include gay/lesbian romance in DLC or ME3. RPG is options based, right? And all of those homophobic morons can just not choose it. You are not forced into f/f or m/m romance it's smply an option, hear that?

I think this is misunderstood I don't think this is so much bioware deciding to leave it out for whatever reasons one might come up with as much as it just doesn't fit for this game. As to where it was in dragon age for both the major difference here is that in dragon age your playing -your- character as in mass effect your play as Shepard. A predefined person yes you can make choice and such for him but its vary different in that respect I think as such being a predefined person one of his and or her traits is being that of a heterosexual. So i don't believe it to be a take away from it at all as much as it's just who Shepard is.

One might argue that in mass effect 1 there was homosexual moment witch is clearly missing in 2 however this is an alien mano gender race witch is not really female or male but clearly looks female enough to be considered for this I can find that understandable but bioware themselves did not see it as such so it is not as though they had put it in and taken it away. If anything I think bioware should be applauded for its efforts in such areas but this is but my thoughts thank you for your time in reading this.

I'm going to come out and say that there should have been some same sex relationships of some kind (other than the fling with Kelly which I hear can be done as a female too) in ME2. However, I'm not someone who views the romances as an extremely high priority either.

If it's any consolation, I'd bet that people will find a way to mod in same sex relationships on the PC version of the game fairly easily.

A lot of these threads look alike indeed. I was sure I responded earlier, but I guess not. ;)

Of course I support this, even though I am hetero. It puzzled me when I saw that it was not in the game. After playing DA:O and ME1 I automatically assumed it was in ME2 as well. I promise to buy it.

Good luck. ;)

As I said, there should have been at least one option for same-sex relationships. However, it's not something that is going to legitmately upset me.

There's an entertainment value to the multi-pile gay threads. One of the last has been closed and the mod referred to this thread to discuss the topic.
Though the entertainment value is great, it gets boring over time. I am glad to see this thread started off with a constructive note and I think your intent is honorable, OP.

On topic:
BioWare has shown in previous games (BG, DA) it is daring enough to work with a societal hot topic like gay sexuality by implementing it in an entertainment platform. Not as a crusade for gay rights, mind you, but simply as a 'normal' thing, and an acknowledgment that love and sex can transcend gender (Asari are an example as well in this.) It is one of the manymany reasons I love BioWare as a games developer.

Admitted, some of ME2 characters lend itself strongly to love interests without gender-limits in my opinion: Jacob, Thane, Subject Zero, maybe Miranda, Tali less so but possibly. I would have welcomed a similar open mind in ME2 as BioWare has shown in DA by giving the possibilty, but effectively it is BioWare's decision, and seeing the crowd ME2 is being marketed to for a large part (Football fans, more shooter-oriented gamers than RP'ers), I can deduct some of the reasons for their decision but will unlikely ever know them for a fact.

That said, and taking all of the above in mind, I would love to see DLC that offers the possibility for gay-sexual love interest(s). Not because I am gay (I'm not), not because 'BioWare has done it before, so they should do it again'. Not even because same-sex scenes turn me on.
I would enjoy it being offered simply because it challenges the standard, because it is one more reason BioWare can show it stands above the rest when it comes to storytelling in games by implementing what many still find 'taboo', and at the same time because in my personal opinion it can be considered normal and assumable in today's society and on top of that a progressive sci-fi game such as ME2.

TLDR?
Yes, I'd like to see DLC entertaining same-sex love interests.
