There's an entertainment value to the multi-pile gay threads. One of the last has been closed and the mod referred to this thread to discuss the topic.
Though the entertainment value is great, it gets boring over time. I am glad to see this thread started off with a constructive note and I think your intent is honorable, OP.
On topic:
BioWare has shown in previous games (BG, DA) it is daring enough to work with a societal hot topic like gay sexuality by implementing it in an entertainment platform. Not as a crusade for gay rights, mind you, but simply as a 'normal' thing, and an acknowledgment that love and sex can transcend gender (Asari are an example as well in this.) It is one of the manymany reasons I love BioWare as a games developer.
Admitted, some of ME2 characters lend itself strongly to love interests without gender-limits in my opinion: Jacob, Thane, Subject Zero, maybe Miranda, Tali less so but possibly. I would have welcomed a similar open mind in ME2 as BioWare has shown in DA by giving the possibilty, but effectively it is BioWare's decision, and seeing the crowd ME2 is being marketed to for a large part (Football fans, more shooter-oriented gamers than RP'ers), I can deduct some of the reasons for their decision but will unlikely ever know them for a fact.
That said, and taking all of the above in mind, I would love to see DLC that offers the possibility for gay-sexual love interest(s). Not because I am gay (I'm not), not because 'BioWare has done it before, so they should do it again'. Not even because same-sex scenes turn me on.
I would enjoy it being offered simply because it challenges the standard, because it is one more reason BioWare can show it stands above the rest when it comes to storytelling in games by implementing what many still find 'taboo', and at the same time because in my personal opinion it can be considered normal and assumable in today's society and on top of that a progressive sci-fi game such as ME2.
TLDR?
Yes, I'd like to see DLC entertaining same-sex love interests.
