Is Morrigan a companion, or will it be more like allistair, where he shows up to do king things now and then? (or flemeth, ehere she shows up now and then to drive the plot a bit)

I hope she is a companion, and I can befriend/romance her to get her to divulge intimate details to tie up loose ends. She won't be like "Hi Mr. Inquisitor.. my mom did this because x. I knew the warden! He went into the mirror with me! this happened!" but, perhas she might be like "I.. can't... I loved another.. we did x. we went into the mirror to stop fleemeth from y. the warden went to the deep roads because z."

Anyway.. I rambled on long enough. lol

P.S.

Anyone at e3? IMPRESSOns?  I'm still a bit worried that huge beautiful detailed zones require resources, thus taking away from main story and length.

TL;DR:

Sorry. rambled. is morrigan a companion?

She's not a companion
She's not a romance
She does have a major role to play though apparently

Morrigan is not a companion.

She plays a big role in Inquisition , so it won't be like the five minutes cameos of Flemeth/Alistair/etc...in DA2.

She is not a companion. She is not romanceable. She is important to the story.

There's Allistair Tenpenny...

Anyway, to repeat what was said here, Morrigan isn't a companion or romanceable (like Leliana, probably because they were already love interests in DA: O).

Morrigan will (hopefully) play the role of Duncan/Eamon in Origins. Her assistance will move the Inquisitor's story forward.

That would be interesting... maybe Morrigan will somehow assist the Inquisitor when s/he's thrown into the Fade after the veil tear in the beginning?  *speculates*

Killing that guy was ever so much fun!

It would be an interesting variation of the Flemeth saving you after you kill your first Ogre trope. It could be Morrigan saves you after you kill your first demon this time.

Yep :D.  I killed him for his sniper rifle.

That's what I was thinking.  Assuming that Flemeth is responsible for the tear in the Veil, Morrigan may be intervening in that event.  She'd definitely not want to see Flemeth succeed in whatever her plan is.

I don't believe Flemeth is responsible tbh but Morrigan seems involved in iy all so maybe.

But we can't get rid of that trope.  :crying:

Morrigan is heavily involved with Celene in Orlais.   I would imagine this would allow her to give both insights into what is going on and possibly access to areas that might otherwise be denied.   We know we get invited to a ball at which Morrigan is present.   We know we are meant to be looking for an assassin.   We are also told that nobles might not appreciate discovering you poking around among their personal effects.   That suggests that you have to gain access to parts of the palace reserved for guests of the Empress and to which you might not otherwise have admittance but Morrigan could get you in.   She must know secret passages because otherwise how could she gain access to Celene without other people knowing?    Clearly she does because she isn't even mentioned in Masked Empire, which suggests that may be even Briala doesn't know.   Morrigan can also shapeshift, so I imagine she has been able to infiltrate secret meeting disguised as, say, a dog or cat, that no one would give a second glance to.   Plus Morrigan has always focussed on survival of the fittest.   If the Inquisition is turning out to be the new power in Thedas then I would imagine that Morrigan would want to ingratiate herself with the Inquisitor because it is the best place to be in order to survive, always following her own agenda of course.

For a minute I thought the thread title said Alistair was an 'outside canoe', and I clicked here to find out what that meant.

Her appearance went to Hell from how she used to look. In Origins, she was hot. The design of her character in the new scenes are... scary.

I'm expecting she will "accompany" us on at least one quest, but she would be in cutscenes, or an NPC fighting in the background - not in our actual party.
