It was announced in Heroes of Cosplay-event or something but Gaider confirmed it in tumblr and some other dev in the twitter. Too lazy to look for links ^^;
I think there will be definitely be gay option as well. I doubt it's Cullen. I have my bets on Dorian.

Is sera really lesbian?
WTF so far she was the only interesting female character.
- Vivienne: mage + idont'giveafuckaboutyou attitude + hidden agenda = Morrigan ripoff. I prefer the original.
- Cassandra: Interesting character, but I wouldn't fall in love with a tough girl. Hope she doesn't end up being a copycat of Aveline.
- Leliana: always hated her. She's the classic passive-aggressive female type. She is all about the church in her words, but when it comes to facts is an assassin and a sex devil under the sheets. Always hated hypocrite people.
I guess gay people get the better end of the stick this time. Good for you guys!

Small request to developers. If you are going to give out information on a character, please can you put it all on your main site. I had read up about Sera almost as soon as it was released and was really looking forward to my male PC romancing her, only to come to the forums and see it said that she is a lesbian. Then I asked if this was just speculation or official and was told the latter but this was revealed on Heroes of Cosplay and Twitter. Never heard of the former until now and don't do Twitter. What is the point of an official gameplay site if the information isn't going to be put on there? I've checked and there is still nothing about Sera's sexuality there. I've also watched all the interviews at E3 and nothing was said there either. So please don't drip feed information via Twitter or Facebook or whatever but put it where it belongs.

It's marketing man. They want you to get involved in Dragon Age, come to the forums and talk about it on social networks.
Casual players don't need any more information than what they can find on the site. Those who want more have to dig for it and in the meantime increase their emotional investment in the game. If you are more more invested you'll share news on your facebook page (=free advertising) you'll talk about the game (=word of mouth advertising which BTW is the most powerful way of advertising), maybe you'll buy the collector edition or the books to get more information about the game's setting, characters and so on.
Don't worry, we all have fallen into this trap. I bought two books Just because Mike Laidlaw said that I needed them to fully understand some of the characters that I'm going to cross in DAI. At least they are realy good XD

For whatever it's worth, it doesn't look like Bio was actually planning to do the announcement during E3 this way. They already knew the Heroes of Cosplay episode was coming up, of course, but Gaider says he didn't know that episode was going to run this particular week. Which explains why they didn't promote that episode to us.

Leliana definitely isn't an option - characters who could be romanced by the Warden (or Hawke, I guess) will not be romances for the Inquisitor.
And maybe you'll like Scribbles? Since Cullen is a romance option, she probably is too. Of course, we know nothing at all about her right now, not even her name.

Is she the third advisor?
Let's hope she's a well done character then.

That doesn't make sense what about people who didn't romance them as the warden or hawk?Leliana definitely isn't an option - characters who could be romanced by the Warden (or Hawke, I guess) will not be romances for the Inquisitor.

Why do you want to do that? You know that there will be surprises down the road which you cannot plan for.
I sometimes wonder if people play to experience a story or to sleep with a character whom they know little about but have a fixation on.

For some people myself included knowing things like a companion's restrictions ahead of time isn't really spoiling anything for them, after all knowing that Sera likes girls ahead of time isn't really giving anything about the story away we still don't know much about her or about the plot of the game we just know that she likes girls and for people who are interested in her character now know that they'll have to make a female PC if they wish to romance her instead of finding out a few hours into the game especially if its implemented like DAO where the flirt lines just never show up and you think you're doing something wrong.
Nothing wrong with enjoying the game for both the story and the romances is there? I for one am loving what I've been reading on Iron Bull and look forward to having him as an LI or best friend in my playthroughs and I'm also looking forward to the plot of the game and finding out about the Fade tears all over the land.

Eh, there's nothing stopping you from playing a gay female character yourself and still doing that romance. It's not like only gay players can play gay characters, while straights have to be straight in-game, y'know.
Fair enough if you don't want to, but the "good for you" seems a little funny to me (especially since we've heard from plenty of straight guys who preferred doing the f/f and straight women the m/m ones in the past).

No, nothing wrong. However, I expect the companions to offer much more depth than what has been hinted at so far. And that depth will be at least partially story driven. Not only do I like surprises, I also find it odd to plan choices about an LI based on the little information we have. I prefer to base my romances on how likeable I find the interaction with said character, how the chemistry develops with my PC.
What if Iron Bull turns out in the end to be really a Qunari spy who wants to learn as much about Orlais in order to plan for the Qunari invasion? What if Dorian has a history of sacrificing slaves and babies for his blood magic and doesn't regret any of it? What if Cullen discovers that magic is indeed evil and corrupting the world and that the only safe way is the right of anullment, starting with your mage inquisitor?
I am not saying any of this is likely. However, I am saying that making a plan of playthroughs solely based on looks, a little background, and sexual/racial preference of other characters sounds short-sighted to me.

Sounded quite painful, whatever it entailed.

While I can't speak for others I do a playthrough for every possible LI and ones without LIs to see what it offers and changes about the character, like I said knowing their orientation isnt' going to spoil anything really knowing Sera like girls isn't going to reveal that she's actually working for the big bad or is robbing you blind whenever you take her with you or that she's a secret mage who took up the bow instead to keep from drawing attention to her magic. It just letting me know what gender I should pick if I wish to be in a romance with them or if I would like to try to be, if Iron Bull or any of the other companions end up being double agents or something that would be pretty cool in my eyes I just hope that if it is true I pick them first by some miracle so I can really get it stabbing me in the gut. I know I have little to go on with Iron Bull or Blackwall but like I said I liked what I've read so far and if they are available as an LI why not try it out? After all I"m doing an LIless playthrough and going do a playthrough for all the LIs anyway.
Though about gay companions I have a feeling that either Dorian or Blackwall would be gay Solas dosn't seem like he'd be an LI to me and Iron Bull will hop in bed with anyone he's reasonably sure he won't break so I"m guessing he'd be Bi.

Thats your opinion that gay people get the better option , I for one think Cassandra is far better looking and personality wise (from what we know) then Sera.
Also leliana isn't a romance option.
As for other romance. I dont know why but i see Solas being the Gay one , Dorian being Bi. and Cullen being Straight for the Male LI's. Cassandra i think would be straight and Viv Bi ,being Orlesian and all lol.
Thats assuming those Males and Viv are romanceable I'm just going by what i guess. as frankly Varric and IB are always possible?
