I think it is weird to judge characters we haven't even met yet. I'm excited that Sera is female only romance, it looks like Iron Bull is Bi- the interview article said he'd hop into bed with anyone. I'm hoping that Dorian is male only romance. I can do without elves always being so fae, so I'd like Solas to be gay and taken in the vein of Aveline.
Confirm gay romance companions

I'm just going by some of the little info we have on them to base my judgment on whom I like more. Also i agree IB from his profile. He don't care he'll bed ANYONE lol. Varric tho should be for Dwarf-Women only due to Dragon age 2 he says he doesn't care for humans ( or elves? if im not mistaken) unless he has... sampled the goods and has changed his mind LOL

Varric has been topside awhile, I'm sure his tatses have broadened, although I do not think he'll be romancible.

He only mentioned not being into humans if I recall correctly but you had to have some things happen before hand to even hear that line so some people may not have heard it so who knows if its count as canon or not. *shrugs*

its been awhile since I played DA2 , so he may be into Elves. But true it may not count as Canon. I'm sure lots of people would be bummed out if Varric was dwarf-only.

He only says something if you bring him to talk to Merrill and use a flirty response while you are rivaling her and only if you're using Female Hawke. I doubt he'll be a romance option at all though but then again I don't keep up with the books or comics so something may have happened to put Bianca out of his mind but I always expect the worse with stuff like this.

Oh I hope so! I also hope he doesn't have a dreaded race restriction on him as well I'll be very disappointed if he does ![]()
With the part about him jumping into bed with just about anyone I'd be shocked if he wasn't an LI

Posté 13 juin 2014 - 01:39
True enough , well frankly i hope all Advisors/Companions minus Cole for obvious reasons and varric i don't see being a LI due to as you said Bianca. But I just want lots of options lol

Posté 13 juin 2014 - 01:54
I"m less optimistic about that now having just come back from a closed romance thread, I'm all for more options until they put silly restrictions on them like race ones but thats not really for this thread. As for the companions go I'd hope the male to female LI ratio is even at the very least and even ratio for the sexualities.

Is sera really lesbian?
WTF so far she was the only interesting female character.I guess gay people get the better end of the stick this time. Good for you guys!
- Vivienne: mage + idont'giveafuckaboutyou attitude + hidden agenda = Morrigan ripoff. I prefer the original.
- Cassandra: Interesting character, but I wouldn't fall in love with a tough girl. Hope she doesn't end up being a copycat of Aveline.
- Leliana: always hated her. She's the classic passive-aggressive female type. She is all about the church in her words, but when it comes to facts is an assassin and a sex devil under the sheets. Always hated hypocrite people.
What is wrong with tough girls exactly? Cassandra, is awsome.

I personally find all of the characters intriguing but none of them interesting to romance yet. I need to talk to them to know.
What if Sera makes comments about shemlens alot? Id get annoyed just as I did with Anders. Just sayin not to mean she does or will. I just find it little to early to push someone out the door.
Speculating Vivienne has same thing Morrigan does is really dampening Vivienne as a person, which she more likely is not in same boat as Morrigan.
A tough girl Cassandra, hmmm, honestly see her as someone that can take care of herself on field of battle. Which means I dont have to look over and see if she got more than she can handle when I'm pinned down myself.
Scribbles could probably stun someone in ways not expected from her cause she isnt said much.
I dont look at appearances and the little information given isnt enough for me to make a good judgement of character till I walked with them. Anders was cool in Awakening but a whiney annoying butt in DA2.
I said this before, I would romance Varric on purpose just to see his romance. Cause he is the one and only person I actually know well enough. Cassandra and Cullen are up in the air still cause not sure how Cullen is after DA2.
All this detracts from OP's theme of thread to a degree. Its about gay confirmations not straight characters in first place.
Only one is confirmed of specifics while two are up in the air. It remains to be seen if they decide to tell us or not before October. I keep thinking to delete this.

Just because Cassandra (or any woman for that matter) is tough and capable doesn't make them any less feminine / have a vulnerable side. Just my 2 cents.

On the other hand, every woman doesn't need to be feminine . I have to admit my least favorite trope is super tough lady who is secretly very feminine or even worse is shown how to be feminine and never looks back. It seems to imply being a masculine woman is a phase or wrong and every woman MUST be feminine. It is a very depressing trope, especially it is one of the few times we even get tomboys/masculine women in media.

True but everyone has different tastes , I enjoy the Warrior-lady who still acts womanly so to speak and not like a dude. But i'll agree that the * shown how to be feminine and never looks back* I would prefer not to happen.

Yeah I agree to some extent woman warriors that have a feminine persona is actually pretty cool. I like that as more of their personalities, personally. As long as it isnt a secret (like something you are ashamed about one way or another) I am fine. For example Vivienne is tough, capable, and very feminine. i love that about her, every bit of it. They never treat it like a contradiction. Ashley is similar. Tough, capable, but the softer or more feminine parts of her personality are not treated as incongruous. Aveline, where the butt of her jokes is that she is not feminine can be aggravating. It sometimes feel as though women characters are feminine or their entire write up is about them NOT being feminine. I really liked Jack, because she was allowed to not be feminine and have a story separate from that.
Although may we both look forward to the day, where the most Feminine Woman at camp is the Warrior, and the most Masculine Woman at camp is the Rogue!

Yes! Exactly! I do not want it to be a secret that is just not interesting to me. and frankly i wished Aveline would have been a romance option she was one of the few party members i used constantly ( my party generally was Varric , Isabella and Aveline 24/7) and she was just a good well done character as well. Yes the whole *Your so not lady like* was a bit annoy after awhile , but with her snapping right back at Isabela was good to see. As for Jack well i loved her in ME2-3. Ashley i DID like but her changes over ME 2 and 3. yea was like.. Should have saved Kaiden.
Nothing wrong with a Masculine rogue =) , more character personalities / types / persona's etc etc the better.

Are people still raging about Sera's sexuality?
is just 1 female companion, is not like every female is gay
Cause she is cute as a button and as deadly as a viper. Hot women that can kill me with a smile revs my engines. Cassandra with her hatchet face and bossy attitude is getting shivved the first chance I get, and Vivienne looks way too high maintenance. s

I can see why you're concerned, OP. I'm a gay transman, so it's nice to know these things for our playthroughs. With that being said, I still intend upon enjoying the game. I'll run it with gay, straight, lesbian, bi and pansexual inquisitors of both genders and have a damn good time all around.
