Nothing new on Solas, Cole hasn't even been mentioned. Dorian has been officially confirmed and we were told of his backround a tiny bit.

 

Mike Laidlaw meant more romances than any Dragon age game, so more than 4. I'm guessing they'll be around 6 romances. David Gaider also said that not all companions will be romanceable.

 

All we've gotten on romances that's new is that Sera will be a female only romance.

It was confirmed to be DA games. Most of us think that means 6, because DA2 had 5.

 

Dorian has been officially confirmed. We've heard snippets of his voice, but the devs were talking over him so it is hard to hear. He has a mentor that we kill, apparently. I don't know if we kill him every time, or if it's avoidable. His in-game model is gorgeous.

 

Not much on Solas, and Cole has yet to be confirmed.

Basically the title. I've been sifting through the internet, but I'm sort of running on fumes today. I'd rather just point blank ask the community if there is any news on these three characters. News meaning in the last three days since the week of E3 began. What's the word on any of their romance statuses? Orientation? Beyond that, any new background info? Curious.

 

Also - this is weirdly off topic from the very topic that I created - but does anyone remember from E3 when Mike Laidlaw said that DAI will have more romances than any *Bioware* game? A friend of mine (Maclimes) has been pointing this out and I do recall Laidlaw saying that. Anyway, did he mean to say: "...more romances than any Dragon Age game..."? Because didn't other Bioware romances have a LOT of possibilities? Sorry, had to throw this question in here. 

 

Laidlaw confirmed he meant "Dragon Age games" not "Bioware games".

Hm, I think Dorian. Unless Bioware surprises us and makes the super manly looking Iron Bull or Blackwall a gay only romance (that would be awesome too, hahah). Oh, I forgot about Solas too but making both of the elves gay exclusive? I don't see it.

 

Somehow I think Dorian looks more likely. I really want them to confirm/deny it so I can think of my 'perfect' inquisitor to match him up with, hahah

Most of that has been answered, but to follow up, the bit of background we got on Dorian sort of confirmed what was in that survey leak ages ago: that he's a Tevinter magister who does not like what his country has become.

 

So, a nice breath of fresh air to run across a Tevinter who isn't all crazy and evil and such.

I personally think Iron Bull is going to be the bi romance because of some comments the devs made about him sleeping with anyone strong enough to not get hurt. So, that might happen.

 

He's also a Qunari spy, though he's pretty open about it. Don't know if you care about him, but he's the one we got the most info about.

If we are to use process of elimination since we know for a fact one of the male LIs is a gay man:

Cullen - straight or at least bisexual
Iron Bull - bisexual
Cole - not an option
Solas - don't know
Blackwall - is he even an option?
Varric - if an option, is either straight or at least bisexual
Dorian - don't know

That leaves us with either Blackwall, Solas, or Dorian as the gay LI, assuming they are all romanceable to begin with. Between the three though, I have a feeling it might be Dorian. I can't really explain why. Perhaps, just an intuition.

I don't think they count Tallis since that never went anywhere while the other 5 granted you the romance achievement.

I'm hoping for at least eight, but I'm gonna be expecting six. But any more would be great.

At this point, I predict the male characters that'll be romanceable by a male Inquisitor would be as follows:

 

Dorian (gay)

Solas (bisexual)

Blackwall would probably live a life of celibacy, being dedicated to the Grey Warden's calling. Varric won't be romanceable, but I won't be surprised if it turns out that he is, and if he is, he'll be heterosexual. Cole won't be available due to reasons being that he's one messed up character. And Cullen would be the heterosexual only option.

I don't think there has been much of news from those companions. Cole was only mentioned in survey leak ages ago but people are saying that his Cole from last supper part of one of DAI trailers. That rogue there looks lot like a Cole when compared to Asunder's book cover and survey leak has been pretty accurate so far so I think it's save to assume that's Cole. Gaider has made it pretty clear in his tumblr that if Cole is in Inquisition he's not romance option.

 

We only know Solas by his look at the moment, although survey leak also told that he's fade expert and apostate... if I remember it right

 

Dorian had his name confirmed couple days ago and there has been info that he's Tevinter magister who is outcast and wants to change Tevinter to better. His mentor Alexius is taken control of Redcliffe in one part of DAI and we have to bring him down. Alexius refers Dorian has his biggest failure (tweet from dev?). I think that DAI gameplay trailer gave also little sneak peek at his personality.

 

Other than that I don't think there has been news.

I have a feeling we won't hear anything Cole until launch due to his past and I suspect he might be the last member we get in our Inquisition hence another reason why there has been anything hardly said about him. Basically he's sort of the DAI equivalent of Legion I imagine.
