Legion?
Legion can potentially be the last companion Shepard recruits in Mass Effect 2, and you don't have much time to get to know/take Legion places before the final mission (all depending on certain choices for an "ideal ending").

Dorian is secretly a nug in disguise.
Cole is a chantry sister who uses the power of the maker to make waffles.
And Solas is the Queen of the Anderfels.
It's all very exciting.

Oh, waffles you say? I think I have a new favorite companion ![]()

No syrup though, you can blame Sera for that.
Hopefully we'll hear about who will be the exclusively male romance soon as well
I suspect there will be more than one.
Exclusive? I really doubt it.

Why do you doubt it?
How many romances will there be? They've said that there will be all sexualities in the game (straight/bi/gay) AND race restrictions this time around. So for everyone to get around the same amount of content, I'd guess they'd go for more bi romances than gay, so they can cover more ground without having to make entirely new content.
Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE it if we had more exclusively gay/lesbian romances. But I don't see it happening. Don't forget that it will be the first time we'll be getting exclusively gay romances in a Dragon Age game, and only the second time in a Bioware game.
Yes, but one of the women could be straight.
Also, they've never said that everyone is getting the same amount of options. They said that straight, gay, and bisexual PCs of both genders would have options. No more 'I can only date Leliana because Morrigan doesn't like women.'
I'm not sure where you're getting at since that's exactly what I'm saying? If everyone is going to get the same amount of options, and there are straight, bi and gay for each gender, then we're already at 6 romances. Don't you think the chances of there being more bi instead of gay romances higher, since it can cover two genders at once?
Edit: Whoops, I read that wrong, ha x_x. It's 9am over here and I haven't slept. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that when talking about romances, they've said that everything would be even. And if not, then, well, who do you think will have more options? The gay character, or the straight/bi character?
The gay character, or the straight/bi character?
Cole won't be romanceable. You can read up on DG quotes, basically, it'll never happen because he has an almost child-like mind. I think those people who wanted it probably didn't read the book or only excerpts/descriptions. I didn't but I knew the plot!
Two male-specific romances? Wow!! ![]()

ohhh, you totally know. I BET YOU KNOW.
I agree that the likelihood is there will be one exclusively gay male character, two bisexual characters, and one of each sex heterosexual. This will mean that straight and gay PCs will each have the choice of 2 characters (one exclusive sexuality, one bisexual).
However, if they make any of them race specific, then you may only have one choice. This would suggest that Solas and Iron Bull will be bisexual, because there is only one Qunari companion and Solas is the only elf romance available to both sexes. If they are going for race specific romances, then that is good news for Varric fans if you play a dwarf since he is the only option. Never thought of him as bisexual though. So may be it works the other way round. The Inquisitor can go for any race but the elf, Qunari and dwarf companions are only attracted to their own race. So they can be gender specific and still leave the PC with another option if they are the wrong gender.
In addition, it may be that the non party romances (Cullen and may be scribbles) will be available as additional romances but then again, they may be part of the above figure. I am not surprised that Cole has already been ruled out because I don't think it would be consistent with his portrayal in the book for him to be part of a romance. He has not developed enough emotionally - may be ten years down the line but not in this story. Lelianna can be ruled out as well because anyone who romanced her in DAO would be up in arms if she was two timing the absent Warden (unless of course she already knows they are dead). I tend to agree with people that Blackwall would have renounced relationships because he is so focussed on his role as a Warden but I suppose there is the possibility that you could persuade him to change his mind.

Were race restrictions confirmed?
Nothing new on Solas, Cole hasn't even been mentioned. Dorian has been officially confirmed and we were told of his backround a tiny bit.
Mike Laidlaw meant more romances than any Dragon age game, so more than 4. I'm guessing they'll be around 6 romances. David Gaider also said that not all companions will be romanceable.
All we've gotten on romances that's new is that Sera will be a female only romance.
Gaider saying that not all companions will be romanceable is a relatively useless piece of information though, seeing as how Cole is probably a companion, and of course he wouldn't be romanceable. This is of course just coming from the standpoint of someone looking for new conjecture material. ![]()

David Gaider mentioned it in another topic (and I think tumblr), and he hasn't gone back on his word so far. So as far as we know there will also be race restrictions. But nothing is 100%, I suppose.

He has to say it though because a lot of people seem to want to romance Cole despite having the mind of a kid and him saying multible times that he could never be a romance.
