Has anyone ever clarified this officially? Is it just EDI's mobile platform that gets 86ed or EDI in her entirety? I mean you do see EDI's name on the memorial wall, but..........
EDI & Destroy

Well, if her body is destroyed and you pick Control, she won't be on the Normandy wall unless you pick Destroy. She still exists but her physical platform is gone. For Destroy, the catalyst does say that the crucible will target all synthetics and technology that the galaxy relies on without discrimination(although that is hard to believe since ships still work).

EDI has a gun to her head to discourage you from picking Destroy.

Nope never been stated officially, her names on the wall though, pretty sure you can consider her dead along with every other AI.

so I made the Quarians & Geth hold hands for no reason, since Geth would be considered goners as well in the end?

It is assumed, but (like so much of the ME3 ending) it's just left floating in the ether as a "Hmmmm... maybe.... maybe not... Now go away."

Not for no reason. You've shown the way for how organic/synthetic relationships can be ideally taken.
That said, anyone who makes any real synthetics post ME3 is a moron. You don't really need a sentient or sapient artificial intelligence do you?

Yup. Only way to make the peace happen between the two is to turn everyone green...or let the Reapers take over.so I made the Quarians & Geth hold hands for no reason, since Geth would be considered goners as well in the end?
Cheerful thought that. /sarcasm

Kinda like the council having a gun to their head in ME1.

Yes. Organics and synthetics clearly can never get along unless you utterly dominate them and force them to play nice or forcibly blend them into a green utopia. They are incapable of solving their own problems and so one side must annihilate the other before it is done to them. It is inevitable.
That is the lesson the Catalyst is here to teach us.

Technically speaking, the Catalyst is 100% correct.

Well, maybe you made peace in order to get both fleets for the war effort?
If a Shepard's motivations for the peace/outcome at Rannoch had anything other motivation other than to get the fire and/or man power needed to build the Crucible and to destroy the Reapers, then that Shepard should not have held any say in the matter.

too bad he's an idiot to begin with - because his heuristics were designed by idiots - and noone cares what he thinks. to quote a particularly grumpy krogan:
"he's just an uptight a$$hole, I don't really care what he thinks".
I tell you what I'd have liked to see, a post-ME3 DLC that allows Shepard & the rest of the galaxy to go after the Leviathans and kick them between the legs for causing all this grief.

Debatable.
It's correct. The issue is relevance. It's been programmed to follow a relatively mundane order to a point where it has catastrophic results.
IMO, the only real solution is to just plain not make synthetic beings on an advanced enough level.

Only because the Reapers have been cooking the books for the last umpteen million years.
Suborning AIs so they'll attack organics to prove your point that synthetics will inevitably go after their creators is not a convincing argument.

Neither is denying that his conclusion with little to no evidence supporting you on the same scale as he.
As I said, it's not a question of fact, it's a question of relevance. The Catalyst is 100% factually correct.

It's correct.
Well when he said it I had doubts but since it you saying it
Come on now. He's working from skewed data to begin with. It's good enough to show a possibility of irreconcilable differences not a 100% certainty.
