What is ME3 like if Legion was never recruited in ME2?

I know Shepard likes to pretend the not-Legion is Legion if it dies in the suicide mission, but what about if Legion was sent to Cerberus? I ask because I'm thinking about doing that next playthrough as a shakeup, just like the single time I killed Wrex in ME1 to see how it was different (that sucked by the way, also let Ashley die and I was an engineer... In short I removed the 2 heavy hitters that would help balance out the squad, parts got difficult). Strangely my next playthrough is going to be an engineer again, same character too. What is it about that specific Shepard that makes her the one I always go to for removing a party member to see changes made in sequels ?

So how does Shepard react on the dreadnaught? Extremely untrusting seeing as s/he never knew a Legion to have any kind of trust of random talking Geth? Does Tali still stand in opposition to the Quarians going to war with the Geth like if you recruited Legion? I want to know if it significantly changes Shepard's attitude and dialogue and if events having to do with Tali are any different. I can say this though... I am going full renegade when it comes to Geth in ME3 even though it will be a paragon Shepard, if it's true what I've heard about how cold and near-evil the Geth VI. First playthrough I'll be blowing Geth out of the sky.

I can say with a high level of confidence they don't, despite never having tried this series of choices.

It's been a while, but I remember there weren't many differences. Of course the are no references to Legion (except for a couple of goofs), and Tali still opposed the invasion but for a different reason (too risky, I think). Legion itself makes a small cameo in the Cerberus base.

There's a line in that video.... "Legion, we saved the entire galaxy together"

From what, exactly?

I did a save where Legion was left on the bench. Shepard never refers to it as "Legion" nor indicates having any past with it. Never makes the connection between the Geth VI and that thing she found on the Derelict Reaper either, though. Otherwise it's all the same as having Legion dead or sold to Cerberus.

Legion appears as an enemy during the Chronos Station mission if you sold it to Cerberus.

Ah, good to know. I have that to look forward to in my current game.

The Geth VI is completely dumb! And asking where it went after the suicide mission was pretty dumb too, 'cause it answers as if it's Legion. It's completely broken, but that doesn't mean that Legion won't make his appearance... but I'll never tell.

Doesn't count. That's if you recruited Legion for Shepard to know Legion to begin with. I want to never have Shepard even meet him, ever. I don't want the constant "you are Legion" lines of dialogue from Shepard.

Oh, and I know Youtube is there for this. I don't want that. I just want some descriptions, not full-on spoiling. No point in doing to for myself if I'm just going to watch Youtube for it.

I will say I didn't like the geth VI as much as I liked Wiks, or Xen, or even Wreav and the rachni "breeder" . Geth VI's performance is right down there with, "we lost another salarian."

Not much difference except that its a bit harsher and you can't make peace.

hmmmm no legion=no point in saving the geth for my Shepard had no change in heart, nor have a reason to let the Geth live, for his one of his best friends didn't ever been with Shepard.

to answer the OP's question:

- in place of Legion's parts there's a "Geth VI" resembling him

- Quarian/Geth peace cannot be brokered without the real Legion.

- if you gave Legion away to Cerberus in ME2, you will encounter him as a "Legion Assassin" enemy in Cronos Station, just like Jack's fate is sealed if you don't do the Grissom Academy mission.

This is what I'm going to find out on my current run, with my anti-AI engineer.

I haven't left the Cidatel yet though (ME1 :P)

At the pace my game seems to be moving at, you'll probably get there before I do.

While the Raptor is much more powerful in the hands of the Nemeses and the Legion Assassin, I wish that the geth was more powerful than your standard Nemesis. It would've been interesting to see how players fare if he was a hardened target with a Widow rifle lol. One shot kill is what you get for selling it! It should have at least been able to deploy a drone, like ME2 Legion was.

Hey! You have the exact same idea I do. My engineer is also going to be anti-AI (with a soft spot for EDI for some weird reason). Part of why I am doing this choice is I want to destroy the Geth for once but don't have the heart to betray Legion at that junction, and having a cold and merciless talking Geth that Shepard just met being the Geth that tries to convince Shepard to side with them makes it a lot easier to betray the Geth guilt-free.

My roleplay is that as an engineer who sees things on a technical level to the point of being able to just hack Geth effortlessly doesn't see Geth as alive. Being an engineer, she just sees them as a bunch of data that think they're people and doesn't trust them as far as she could throw one. I don't feel this way about Geth, but I have no problem roleplaying my Shepard to do and say and think things that I personally disagree with. It's fun making a Shepard who isn't just your mirror.

I don't think so. I've never sold him myself, but in all the YouTube videos I've seen, he just scurries to the nearest cover point to get a good shot.

Ah okay. Was just imagining Legion with a widow and cloaked like a hunter.

Same here.
