What is ME3 like if Legion was never recruited in ME2?

Well actually... No. My current playthrough is a soldier run with a male Shepard. The engineer one is planned for the next time I play the trilogy again, and I don't even know when that will be. This thread is for future reference. I tend to play the trilogy every couple to several months, so the anti-Geth engineer playthrough will happen eventually. Very likely this year.

I apparently beat the curve - my last playthrough of ME3, Jackson Shepard, hadn't activated Legion (I headcanoned him not even bothering with recovering it - he wasn't curious enough about the geth sniper helping them to get past the 'geth = enemy' mindset, even though the cutscene makes Shepard recover Legion).
Overall, I found it pretty apparent that the writing meant for Legion to have been activated in 2 - Shepard lets the Geth-VI into Normandy's war room with no question and no guard, even with the renegade options taken, it still seems like Shepard is reacting to Legion, not a construct that s/he only met for the first time on the dreadnaught. It's an interesting variation, but it's very clear that the writing was written for a Legion-activated version of events, then had the serial numbers filed off for a playthrough where Legion wasn't activated.

Doesn't count. That's if you recruited Legion for Shepard to know Legion to begin with. I want to never have Shepard even meet him, ever. I don't want the constant "you are Legion" lines of dialogue from Shepard.
Oh, and I know Youtube is there for this. I don't want that. I just want some descriptions, not full-on spoiling. No point in doing to for myself if I'm just going to watch Youtube for it.
Legion appears as an enemy during the Chronos Station mission if you sold it to Cerberus.
That was your answer. ![]()

I did one playthrough where Shepard never activated Legion. Didn't sell him to Cerberus, just didn't activate him. In that case Shepard treats the Geth-VI as a total stranger. As far as Tali, she still opposes the war, but not because she thinks there can be peace, but because she didn't think the Quarians were strong enough. Despite many similarities to a Legion playthrough, I did find the final scene to be rather different in the justification the Geth-VI gave for uploading the code. I also found that Shepard can really harsh on the VI when they first meet, versus he is less harsh on Legion even with a renegade response.

I did a save where Legion was left on the bench. Shepard never refers to it as "Legion" nor indicates having any past with it. Never makes the connection between the Geth VI and that thing she found on the Derelict Reaper either, though. Otherwise it's all the same as having Legion dead or sold to Cerberus.
Tali doesn't trust it for a second, and much of the incidental auto-dialog changes.

They should of actually had Javik's solution be available in the don't know Legion scenario.

That was indeed a pleasure. Too bad there wasn't a 4th interrupt to kick it off the cliff.
