I've been diving through all of the DA coverage today- some are ALOT better than others.

Still, I haven't seen anyone ask the question yet-

"How Long will the game cover?"

Will it adopt the 10 years of Dragon Age 2 method or just about a year like Origins?

Who wants a large chunk of time? WHO'S WITH ME!

DA2's "large chunk of time" came down to sitting in a mansion unable to do jack while the world went to hell because the writers wanted it to end that way.

So, we're talking in game here? Because I know it'll take up a good 1-4 years of my life.

I feel as if these answers have been less than helpful.

How many IN GAME YEARS- will the story cover. Me thinks it should be a while.

It hasn't been mentioned so we can't really give helpful answers.  Could always tweet the developers and see if they will answer

It can't be too long.  With the Breach it is virtually a ticking time bomb over the heads of Ferelden and while I imagine Ferelden will suffer another scar from the breach, it can't be, presumably, too much of a one because BioWare will want to leave that door open for Ferelden to appear in future games or future DA media.  I mean yes, there should be some endings where the world goes to hell but most of those endings probably won't be chosen in canon and you will not be able to import them into a future game...so long and short answer, depends on how quickly the Breach is growing.

Are you a fan of the extended period of time motif?

Are you a fan of the extended period of time motif?

Are you talking about what they did in Dragon Age 2?  Orrrrr?  But I mean I think with anything it depends on A. what the story demands and B. what you can get away with executing.  And as far as A. is concerned looking at Dragon Age 2 you almost had an ability to do a further time period because with the whole Qunari thing it wouldn't have made sense for the city to suffer this cataclysm from the Qunari and then...a couple of weeks later...the Mages rebelled and destroyed the city again it really would not have worked.  Plus, it would not have made the squad seem as familial to one another as they did with the extended time.  But in DA I the longer the story takes the less it makes sense because you literally have this ticking time bomb in the sky that is growing wider and wider and seems to be literally consuming the world around it.

So I hope that is what you were talking about otherwise I just wasted a lot of effort. :P

I doubt it will be anywhere near as long as da2. Since the world will probably end if you don't finish quickly.
