But you're nothing, if not consistent in your inability to internalize all the information before forming a conclusion.

Wow. First of all, what does it matter what he brags about on the forums? Again, do you really know his intentions? His condition? More importantly, did you pay attention to his preferences? You arrived at all of your spot-on conclusions from his post history on the forums? It's really sad what you said here considering you aren't able to focus on the relevant information surrounding his argument and the purpose of his thread.

And even if we assume that he's lying about not being able to afford the console, to me, it's irrelevant because the game dropping on the console he owns is more than enough to justify creating the thread and inquiring about it's quality at launch compared to other platforms. The guy certainly didn't need to come up with all the reasons about his wallet being tight while foolishly boasting about his collection. But neither did the rest of the people needed to corner him "last-gen hate".

You could have done the same thing for free by applying for the Battlefield Hardline beta, just saying.

Well, I was not aware I could do so. I only knew BF4 ran in the same engine because a friend of mine mentioned it, I don't follow the series at all.

? Guys, you do know that there is a site called 'Can you run it' that basically tells you if you can run a specific game with the minimum or recommended requirements, right? No need to purchase things just to see if you can run another game. It even tells you what you need to get if your computer doesn't meet certain requirements.

I never attacked the idea of showing X360 or PS3 footage.  Just that this guy's reputation precedes him. And I then explained to you why so many people are quick to dismiss what he has to day, since you came out and attacked practically everyone assuming we all want him to just "Graduate" to the next level of hardware.

Just to be clear, I actually do agree with you that old-gen footage should be shown in some capacity. Actually, I agree with you on a lot of stuff, I just absolutely hate how you arrive at your conclusions. I'm of the mind that a conclusion is only as valid as the process in which it was reached, so I have a disdain for anecdotal or argument-from-ignorance stances. (Not accusing you of either right now, just explaining my perceptions and judgement)

Yes I am aware. That site tells me I can't run Skyrim on more than medium, yet I have it maxed with no lag at all.

I'm assuming my laptops overclocking mechanism is not taken into account when it calculates it.

At times, Inquisition looks a little too good for a Dragon Age. Though demonstrated on 'medium settings' (essentially equivalent to how it might appear on an Xbox 360), there are several woodland and mountain environments that even outpace the natural splendour achieved in Skyrim, the game that BioWare has made no small point of seeking to outdo. It's a sight to behold.

Outdoing Skyrim in graphics is pretty easy, that game looks like crap. People are so overhyped they actually ignore it, or because they had not much other choices for an Open World RPG.
A Czech game reporter summed it up nicely in his article from 2011 (loosely translated by me):

The joy of exploration and trying different approaches is unique, and doesn't exist in other games in such amounts. However, that still doesn't mean that Skyrim looks like busty Swedish girl, Nobel Prize winner and a world master in Kama Sutra. Skyrim has yellow teeth, foul mouth odor, is dumb as a bag of hammers, and has gonorrhea. And I am tired of imagining curves of beautiful Helga instead of this creature.

I would suggest reading the entire article (via Google Translate probably), but I am not sure how the translation might end up looking...

I understand why they would only focus on the new stuff and not the old gen stuff. I mean its pretty much "Oh Look something new and shiny"...."looks at old gen*. *see's spider web and oh look a tumble weed* NOOOOOO MUST HAVE NEW!!!!!....personally I am a PS3 player and I am grateful they are even putting it on the PS3 and not just the NEW gen stuff. Personally I wouldn't mind DAO's or DA2's graphics, the fact that my PS3 version might look "anything" like what we have seen so far is pretty cool imo.

THANK YOU BIOWARE YOUR SO NICE!  :crying:  :D

I'm less worried about how the PS3 version will look and how it will play.

The PS3 version of Mass Effects and Dragon Ages have been riddled with issues. Some DLC have been virtually unplayable or bricked save files.

So I won't be getting any DLC until I know for sure they actually work on the PS3 version. My hope is they've been working hard on getting this to work on the PS3. Hopefully.

Not quoting because it won't work :(
Yeah turretsyndrome, OP deserves to be dismissed not because they are on last gen, but because they are a constant source of hardcore trolling and continually post click bait and ignore everything and everyone that answers their questions, instead posting about their horrible internet speed and awesome tv(in 10 almost identical threads) while acting like an innocent 'victim' when people call them on their trolling.

So a gazillion people bought and played and enjoyed the game and praised its beauty, blinded by evil marketing spell. But one man, one very specific man saw through that scam. Is that what you're saying?

I am saying he was willing to look past the hype crap. I did play Skyrim, I was not impressed by its graphics fidelity. Anyone who claims how beautiful it looks is obviously willing to ignore many serious flaws...

Not necessarily, a game can still be beautiful despite those flaws.

I loved Skyrim. I'm not going to get into an argument over its graphical capabilities as that doesn't interest me, but the world was big, the sizes in the land was impressive and the nature was booming, that spells beautiful pretty well for me. Software/Hardware ability is not the only was to view a games visuals you know.

They did talk about it, a good bit too. They said it will not look as good as PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Less people on the screen and all that stuff. That's why I'm gonna get a PS4 soon because I don't won't to miss out on amazing games like this!

For real? i have a PS3 and played ME and DA DLC a lot and haven't run into any problems.

They probably figure hey lets just Kick Current in the nuts & making it the cheapest & crappiest version of the game we can make it,

It's not about making it look crappy- it's about the console not supporting the higher quality on the newer consoles or PC. The idea that they're rushing it out or intentionally making it look bad is ridiculous; the graphics will ALWAYS look better on the newer equipment, because of the hardware.

Why should they essentially showcase a dumped down version of a game they need to promote?, telling ppl it is available for last gen but they need to understand the gfx will not be as good is really all they need to do

That's a harsh. A LOT of people still don't have next gen for good reasons. I'm not saying the newer consoles suck, I'm just saying that some people may not be able to afford them now or find no reason to get one right now since the Library of the games isn't huge. That will change in 2015.

Exactly this. They're not going to make the game look terrible on purpose. They will do the best they can with what the hardware will allow. Game developers aren't out to get you. The Playstation 3 is old. The hardware is even older. Frankly, you're lucky you're getting a PS3 version at all, and BioWare should certainly be commended for being able to get Inquisition running on such old tech in the first place. The game will naturally look better on more powerful hardware. That's the way it works, and I would think everybody knows this.

It's not harsh; it's fact. They can't magically upgrade your PS3's inherent physical parts for the sake of their game.

If DAI is anywhere near as beautiful as The Last of Us on PS3, I'm sure I'll manage.

I don't mind that the graphics won't be as good as the new consoles. I can save that luxury for whenever I'm able to afford one. Until then, I can still enjoy the story and characters without tremendous graphics. So long as the game still runs properly, I'm fine. After all, I loved DAO and DA2 on console, and neither was the pinacle of good graphics, especially for the scenery.

Why would they talk about it? Companies don't care about the people who are essentially "holdouts" on the last generation of consoles.

Quite frankly they shouldn't even bother with development time on PS3 and 360.

I agree. I'm actually quite surprised it's even being released for previous gen consoles.

With that install base ? No way is EA passing that up.

I think Bioware actually went above & beyond by even bothering to port DAI for the older consoles.  It won't be as graphic intensive as the newer consoles so of course they won't showcase footage from the 360 or PS3, but I don't see why it wouldn't be as graphically comparable to, say, Skyrim (which was open world, graphic intensive and on the older generation).

Sure, there are different standards for what beauty is, but the article does raise many valid points (especially 19-59, but I realize many of the points in it are going to be lost in google translation).

I am not taking away the fact that Skyrim was big and had a decent plot, and overcoming or approaching that is a solid goal. However, graphics were not that awesome, even by standards that were set by other open world games from the same time, like Red Read Redemption. And yet somehow, every reviewer seemed to have his eyes closed when reviewing Skyrim, as there was very little written about glaring graphical errors, something that is very often target for reviewers in other games... or the game was compared to Oblivion from 2006, like if there was no other OW game published in those 5 years...

I see no reason to get the PS4 until 2016, which is when I see the new Mass Effect coming, Until that OMG comes I am staying PS3 also I have other games to get or play such as Fairy Fencer F, or Street Fighter 4 Ultra.

Also the beauty about Next Gen, means Current Games will be Dirt Cheap while everyone else will be paying top dollar for those games I can rack up & buy me 20 to 30 Elcheapo Used games to the price of a Full Next Gen

First off. First quoted sentence seems to me that you dont think inquisition is worth the upgrade compared to Mass Effect and many more. So it really shouldnt bother you how it looks on your current one.

Second. You dont know how fast technology advances between now and 2016. For all you know ps4 might be out dated for ME by then. So u might want to start saving to buy ps4 sooner than 2016 :-)

This person gets it. By 2016, PS4 will most likely be about as good as a midrange PC...
