Wow. Lots of hostility in here....

I'm getting a 360 version, and I'm not too worried to be honest. Bioware will want to pimp their game out on the best version they have, so I don't expect to ever see a comparison except by someone on youtube who will show us the differences.

I like to wait a few years to see how the consoles develop anyway. They always seem to have a lot of bugs at release, and then the companies release upgraded versions anyway.

I imagine Inquisition on the PS3 will look like an end of generation PS3 game.  Personally, I think games look great on my PS3.  I also think games look great on my 360 and my PS4.  What I don't think is that I will ever have reason to run the same game on any two systems side by side to make a comparison.  So frankly, it doesn't matter if the PS3/360 version don't look as good as the PS4/XB1 versions.  They just have to look as good as contemporary games do on those systems.

It will obviously look worse than the PC on max settings, and the Xbone and the Ps4. Lower texture resolutions (think vanilla Skyrim) and lol30fps, however I can't see it looking worse than recent big releases on the ps3 (haven't played it but The Last of Us looks pretty decent for a console game)? I can't see it being unplayable.

I think a lot of people are missing the point. Graphics aren't the sole reason the current gen versions will be the ones to get. I'm willing to bet a fairly large sum that the framerate will tank below 30 on more than a single occasion, and the loading times will be fairly lengthy in comparison. These things (framerate in particar) directly affect playability. BioWare will no doubt do their best, but there's only so much even the most talented of developers can achieve on decade-old hardware. You only need to look at games like The Last of Us and Grand Theft Auto V for proof of that. Terrific looking and playing games that are stifled by the hardware on which they play.

I'm not surprised they want to show the game at its best. That said, I don't think the game will look like crap on older consoles, just not quite as good.

I can't afford a new console either, and I don't have a computer that can handle it (or much gaming except older stuff, really), but I'm not too concerned. To the people saying they shouldn't bother develop for older consoles, though, I think you're crazy. Lots of people don't upgrade immediately. That said, I don't expect the next DA game to come out for older consoles.

Why are you complaining? Be grateful it's available for last gen consoles.

I am assuming Edge of Reality will be handling the PS3 version. I believe they handle pretty much all of Bioware games on PS3. They were able to get ME1 to port over to PS3 after Bioware was having trouble with it. I fully expect long load times and frame rate drops here and there. Overall I expect the game will look very good and run well enough.

Just hope it doesn't run into the problem Skyrim did on PS3. The larger the file size got the worst the game became. It basically made it near impossible to play once the file size reach about 20 MBs.

Of course it'll look worse in comparison to next gen/ high end pcs. But it'll still look nice.

First of all, nobody cares about your damn TV. Second of all, if you managed to buy that, you surely have the buck to invest in a new console. If you choose not to, don't cry about the graphics and framerate. Why should they show a crappy version of the game they want to sell? People will start assuming that's the end result (hell, some even judge the alpha version) and ditch the game. No to mention that they probably have some sort of contracts with the consoles manufacturers and Microsoft and Sony clearly would like their new products to sell.

And as someone said above, be greatful they even made it available. Assassin's Creed ditched the old consoles already.
