I wouldn't necessarily bet on it, but it's a feature I'd really like to see. My number of ME playthroughs wouldn't be nearly as high if it weren't for NG+.
I'm sure people will argue against NG+ as they don't personally enjoy it. To them I say: Don't use it, as I'm sure you didn't with Mass Effect. ![]()

I am not exactly buying that the devs "don't know yet" and I am not sure what not talking about it would accomplish.

Yeah, even a simple yes/no would be sufficient. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't exist but it's not too much of a big deal. It would just be nice to know, really.

doubt it tbh, with enemies not scaling an such, although for once in a DA game u can still actually play the game when the main quest is done, so thats awesome

Yes I would enjoy a NG+ feature very much but if the tradeoff was non scaling enemies and continue playing after the main quest I can understand if it is not a feature that is available. I always did enjoy playing a fully built Shepard a 2nd time through... or 3rd or 4th, it lent a realism to her background that was delightful for the rpg aspect of her story, kind of like she had a life before I took over.

I'm not certain about any type of NG+, but it is confirmed that there will be endgame activity after you finish the main storyline. The dragons were designed specifically for endgame, though it's possible to fight and kill them before endgame starts.

Look at the other side of that argument; what would talking about it accomplish? There are still plenty of features they haven't discussed. I'm sure this information will be released in time.

We've been told that the game has gone "alpha", so effectively feature-complete.

being able to load your completed game save file and start a new game with it.
basically starting a new game with your levels, skills and inventory from your last playthrough.
And it is glorious, IMO it adds so much to replayability.

I think NG+ means New Game+,feature that mostly only fps games have, start the game from beginning with all items/skills unlocked from first playthrough.

i mostly remember it from crono trigger, the best example of a NG+ IMO
Dragon's dogma also has it
the baldur's gate series sort of have it (with saving and loading character sheets)

there are three open world RPGs coming in October (four if we count September in the mix) and I am not gonna be able to play all of them so....

That, and neither previous DA game has had NG+...

My point was, how does knowing NOW help you? As long as the information is released before the 7th October, you have time to make a day-1 purchase decision. And in the scheme of things, NG+ isn't the feature most players are excited about, or the one that will make the best headlines when revealed. So, patience - I'm sure this kind of information will be available before release. Just not yet

Mass Effect, ALL the Baldur's gate, Dead Space 1-2-3, IWD, Diablo 1-2-3, TLOU, Dark Soul 1-2, Demon Soul, Darksiders 2, Batman AC (last two were poorly implemented)I think NG+ means New Game+,feature that mostly only fps games have, start the game from beginning with all items/skills unlocked from first playthrough.
only FPSs uh? GTFO

NG+ is seeming less and less likely given what (little) we know so far, particularly that you can only have one specialization (likely story-based), and that content won't be level-scaled, which would potentially mean balancing the whole game twice over, or more, for NG+ content.
That, and neither previous DA game has had NG+.
I don't think it means changing anything, for if a person wants to play through with a New Game+ they are taking the risk of making the game easier for the person playing it. They didn't go back and balance the Mass Effect games because of New Game+ and the starting areas are based on not having any real gear or many skills.
As far as not having it in previous Dragon Age games, they didn't have controller support for the PC and they are adding that in Inquisition, so things do change.

according to an old post by the lead writer they wanted it in DA2 but there was no time. I would have a hard time finding that tho so I can't be 100% certain.NG+ is seeming less and less likely given what (little) we know so far, particularly that you can only have one specialization (likely story-based), and that content won't be level-scaled, which would potentially mean balancing the whole game twice over, or more, for NG+ content.

temper, temper, crimzon.
Even a good argument/discussion can go wrong if hostile expressions are casually thrown around.

Prologues don't count, really. And ME uses level scaling, so the balance point doesn't hold; DAI specifically doesn't, so that content would have to be re-balanced. I mean, for all I know BW have implemented a system which makes that balancing very easy, and therefore it might be a trivial concern, but I doubt it.

Entirely possible I suppose, though that's no bearing on whether it'll be included in DAI. As mentioned, I think there are reasons why it would be a lot of effort to implement successfully, for little gain.

To be fair, it is a bit early to be asking or expecting yes or no answers on specific questions. Bioware is just coming off of E3 and just revealed a ton of new info. I would say, be a bit more patient and we will find out if NG+ is in game closer to launch.

Thanks for the info. Liked having this in the ME games; would seem to make this game have higher replay value, too. I'm in!

crimzontearz has been asking this question since the game was announced. Probably before!
