Can one of you PLEASE either confirm or deny the presence of console commands in this game on PC? lol, it's not going to affect anyone's buying decision or anything, but I am debating whether or not to get it on Xbox One or PC.

console commands on pc?
I've never seen them on a console before.

Silly goose. Why would there be console commands on PC? PC has PC commands. If you want a console get the Xbox version.

I'm assuming there will be, there has been a developer console in all past games. I assume it is also good for them for testing and such. But that is just my opinion.

I'd hope so, but I have yet to see any game on Frostbite 3 have them, so I am a bit worried they won't be there this time.

lol no worries.

They probably do, even DAO had them. They just weren't visible without mods.

Yeah, they weren't technically visible, but the game still recognized what you were typing and it worked. Hmm, would be great if we get Mike, Allan, Dave or another dev to comment on this. I know they're busy but it would make all the difference to be able to make up my mind whether to just go with Xbox for better performance or stay with PC and maybe slightly crisper graphics and console commands.

Depends how good his PC is.

Xbox won't hitch or lag. It won't look as good as my PC, which I am sure can run it on full settings probably anywhere between 20 to 30 fps through most parts of the game. However, there's always those huge battles where my PC is like ''f*** this'' and immediately tries out for special ed.

Console games can hitch, lag, freeze and be susceptible to massive drops in framerate just like the PC version. The only difference is that you can't do anything about it on a console. It will depend entirely on how much optimisation the game receives on a particular platform. PS4 version could hit a perfect 60 and stay there, whereas the XBO version's performance could regularly tank, and vice versa. It's something we just don't know, and won't know until it ships. But a console version isn't a sure fire way to get better performance.
Just sayin'.

not a sure-fire way, but at least console version ensures consistency.
with pc, one guy can be modding into golden city with gtx titan variants, and another can be left in dust town with an intel chip.
plus, console gamers occupy a much bigger share of the market and hence demand extra attention; bravo to bioware for actually making games available on pc, but making game at all costs money.

Much bigger? No, PC has a bigger share than any single console on the market.

This is true, though our games are purchased more by console gamers than PC gamers.

When I saw this thread had a Bioware post I almost wet myself. Why do you torture me, Allan?

Would you be able to tell us the % of a title that is bought by PC vs PS vs Xbox?
(and ignore ME1 from the data since that was PC and Xbox only)
I'd be inetersted in knowing the breakdown.

Id say it may depend on the owners of Frostbite 3. I dont own any frostbite 3 games on pc to know, but from the sounds of your post, I'd say no.
That's.... not encouraging.
Developer Console commands on PC have saved my ass more times than I care to admit. Most of the time, I used them to "fix" (ok, bypass) bugs in the game, sometimes to make a fight easier, sometimes just because I want to play around.
No dev console would be a major pain in the ass, in my opinion.
The question wasn't answered yet, though..... Bioware?

It's best to assume we won't have any mod support or console access for the game. Still, Mark Darrah did say they may look into modding once they've released the game. I'm guessing it'll just come down to PC player interest at that point.
I couldn't do this without access to console in Origins.
Also got to do a lot of other interesting things with the console in both games. So yeah, I think having console access is always a plus in any game.

Unfortunately I don't know the numbers off the top of my head. I think DAO had roughly equal on PS3 and PC, without 360 having the most. But I don't even remember when I heard that, and if I'm even remembering it right.
Why do you torture me, Allan?
I don't actually know the answer, unfortunately.

I haven't enjoyed Dragon Age's combat so far, so I'd like console commands to get through the combat sections faster.
