1st: Male for sure. I'll see if Warrior looks like fun to play, although I usually prefer rogues/mages. Its just that I want to make my first blind playthrough "me"... so I dunno.
Probably male human warrior first, or a DW Rogue if Warrior doesn't look appealing enough.

My heroes are the ones who stare down dragons and do not flinch. 

 

Plus I'm a sucker for heavy armor, and I have played a warrior tank in World of Warcraft since it came out... Might be slightly biased.

You mean after fiddling around when the CC for all races and genders, right?

I'm definitely going to do a female mage for my first run (unless I get my second "world state" runthroughs of both previous games through before Oct. 7), probably with the Rift spec (unless Necromancer is really badass). Probably going for a debuffing and DPS spell trees. I'm just torn on what race; I've been planning to play an elf since they were announced to be returning, and I've already hit that characterization planned out, but the Qunari are just so, so, so cool.
As for party composition, I usually never have a concrete running team and swap characters around often. But I think Varric, Iron Bull, and Cassandra will be used most often. Romance wise, if Varric and DHMG - ahem.... I mean DORIAN - wind up being unavailable for her, I'll get my flirting on with Sera, probably.

Human Male Warrior/Mage, I like mages more but the way they are saying about the Inquisition and how you lead from the front, I feel that a Warrior will fit very well in that role.

While I prefer rogue in just about every other RPG, I think I'll do human, female, mage for the first play-through.  Since I plan to not do much in way of reloading... unless I die, I like what I imagine will be a mage's ability for crowd control and to give myself the opportunity to properly strategize my team.

 

At least, that's the plan. O-)

For my first run, Male Mage. Haven't decided if Human or Elf yet, leaning towards Human. Haven't decided my specialization yet either (lack of info) either Knight Enchanter or Rift.

Probably I'll start with human female mage, but who knows. It'll depend on the origins mostly, the only thing I know for sure is that I'll be a woman.

I am hoping to play as a human male mage as my first playthrough.  I'm hoping we get some cool skin tone adjustments as I'd like to vary the color.

 

I don't know about the specialization yet. Perhaps when I get more info on Rift and Necromancer. I do like some dark magic.

Well i'll have many many different Inquisitors (I'm a alt-alcoholic in MMOs so in single-player RPGS i always have tons of playthroughs). but i'll stick to my tried and true favorite. Male Warrior. Will be making a Human and Qunari in the Character Creator see which creation I like more and go from there.

I'm constantly changing my mind about what kind of inquisitor I want to play first, but right now I'm most excited to play a female dwarf rogue.

I love making dwarven berserkers in DAO but I suspect a human might make more sense for the story.  So I am a bit undecided for that first playthrough (will be playing as a 2h warrior either way).  I know in the long run as far as the multiple playthroughs are concerned I am going to being making more dwarves.

I will definitely be female and a mage for my first play through, but I'm torn between human and elf.  Whatever I don't do first, then the second play through will be the second.  Third will be Qunari!  (All female and all mages though!)

I always hate those chests!  Sometimes I'll play a rogue just in the beginning to satisfy my need to know what's in the chests, even if it's not good loot.  Rogues aren't my favorite class to play, so I almost never finish a play through as a rogue.
