I find it interesting how few Qunari there are. I guess I assumed more people thought Qunari were awesome and that the Qun was more interesting like I do.

EDIT: I also love how many mages there are. Mages for life.

So, this is probably a question that has been asked a million times on this board, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. What gender, race and class do you plan to play as for your Inquisitor on your first run through of Inquisition?

Personally, I plan on going male (cause I'm a guy so associate more with a male protagonist) and as a mage, because it's my favourite class to play as. However I'm not sure whether to go as an Elf or a Qunari. Both of them could be interesting to roll as.

I tend to split my player characters about as evenly as you can get, playing as male & female, and of every possible race eventually. With a main Inquisition campaign in the fifty hour range (not counting side quests), that means weeks and or months of storytime before I will get around to them all. I'm fine with that!

I've already preordered the collectors edition, scheduled the day off from work, threatened my adult children [who still live at home] to make plans not to be there that day. All that remains for October 7, is to decide which comfort foods to stock, and to cut off my cellphone once UPS knocks at my door.

Me and my girlfriend always do concurrent playthroughs.

I look forward to playing,

Female Dwarf Rogue

Probably with Either Cassandra/Sera, Blackwell, and Vivienne

My gf will probably play (although some stuff is not in stone)

Female Qunari Mage

With Iron Bull, Varric, and either Solas/Dorian depending on who she gets along with better.

Definitely romancing Iron Bull if he is available.

Still haven't decided yet, I seem to keep playing humans, I think this might be the time to play a Qunari Warrior, as I have played a mage in DA:Origins and a rogue in DA:2

My first character is always a male human necromancer, or as close to it as the game will allow.

I play that same character because I know him really well (he began as a tabletop character in 1989 or so), so he's a good filter through which to experience the game.

Female human warrior. She'll be the great and noble hero, always doing the right thing, always being kind, always ready to sacrifice herself to aid others, devoutly religious, yet all too accepting of other beliefs.

She'll be the greatest of Mary Sues...and my hope is that she'll be brutally punished for it.  ^_^

Male Elven Rogue.

My first two protagonists were already human, so I'm changing it up for the thrid game. I'm planning it so just in case all 3 protagonists show up at the same time, there would be some kind of diversity at least.

My canon play through will be most likely as human female mage named Sol. Since we learned about qunari being available in DA:I I started hesitating, but I've already decided on so many things that it wouldn't feel right to change her race.

I have no idea how I'm going to choose my companions. They all seem wonderful. The only one my Inquisitor might not get along with is Vivienne, but I'm not sure yet. I will certainly look for a party with the most hilarious banter, So, for the first play through: one mage (probably Dorian or Solas), one rogue (most of the times Varric or Sera), one warrior (Cassandra and iron Bull). I wil try many different combinations of course, but I really want to see how Varric and Cassandra will interact, so I'll take them often in pair.

Romance: Straight most likely, but I must say, Sera is tempting. I will choose the one that will feel the most natural, though.

Character: Chaotic neutral or chaotic good ( I want a more neutral approach but it's difficult - I always tend to make the "good choices", because that's what I would do.

Inquisition: Pro- mage, building new order, learning the truth  and unveiling it; I want my Inquisition to be an organisation which uses knowledge, cunning and connections as its main weapons.

I can't wait for October! :(

I plan on being a human female rogue my first play through. As much as I love the fact that we can choose races other than human, I want to make my first (main) Inquisitor to look and act like how I do in real life, if possible. I've never made a character "like me" in Dragon Age games before. I always create unique characters and headcanon their personality and play the game depending on what I imagined their personality would be like. So it'll be a fun and unique experience for me to pretend that I'm the Inquisitor.

After that, I plan on making a female rogue elf, and then a female qunari who's either a mage or a rogue. Every time I play rogue, I want to change the specialization out of the choices that are available. But I'd also love playing as a Saarebas, or a mage in general due to the mage/templar conflict still going strong. :)

First play through: Female Elven mage named Rhiannon. Values duty, sacrifice, and family. I really hope she can be her clan's Keeper.

Second play through: Female Qunari mage named Indrani. Master strategist, calculating, and dark humored.

Third play through: Female Dwarf rogue named Candace. Trickster, quick-witted, and workaholic.

Fourth play through: Male human jerk named Dave. Lazy, anti-social, and a sense of humor only he appreciates. Will finish the game with as few companions as possible. I will use him with my Warden Dave and Dave Hawke imports. I'm aiming for The World is Burning and Everything Hurts, Thanks Dave world state.

I thought of that family guy skit where Peter is like "Who hurt you? Who hurt you?" over and over.

Most of the time (basically, all of the time except for maybe twice) I play as a female protagonist when given the choice in a game.  On my first playthrough, I plan on playing as a female Dalish mage.  Dalish, because it was my favorite Origin to roleplay in DA: O and I'm curious to see what kind of links/references there will be with a Dalish Warden from Origins.  And a mage because I think it might mesh better roleplaying-wise and gameplay-wise with the glowy green veil-closing hand.

I haven't decided what I'd do on any subsequent playthroughs (Qunari sounds fun), but that's my preferred Inquisitor for now.

I have a love of dorfs so I'm starting with a dwarven rogue. After her, I'll probably play a qunari either warrior or mage (what I make her depends on which classes gameplay looked more fun in my first run). After that I'll probably go elf then human. Or replay a dwarf or qunari. I'll get to 'em all eventually though.

Going to be female human, elf, or qunari. I'm planning playthroughs for all three of those. The only decision I can never settle on in the class decision. My favourites always depend on the game and whichever one I have the most fun with. In DAO, mage was the only enjoyable class for me. Then DA2 made warrior extremely fun so that's what I went with. So I'm just going to tinker with all of them until I find the right fit.

My first play through will be a female elf mage (particularly more so now I have heard the female Inquisitor's voice, which I love).  I have a feeling she will be a one for order and tradition at the start, but by the end she will probably cause some chaos and look for change!

Apart from Varric, I have no idea who from the companions I will drag around the most  .  I like the sound of all of them so far, for different reasons.  If I take Cassandra, I think I will take a companion she doesn't see eye to eye with, just to pee her off and for the banter!

In no particular order I am going to play a human female mage (Spec. Undecided at this time), Elvan female Mage (Knight Enchanter), Elvan female Rogue/Archer (modeled as closely as is possible after Evangeline Lily's character "Tauriel" in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) who will court Sera as a love interest.
