Ah crap, I know I said I wanted to make a female Qunari mage, but since David Gaider confirmed Cassandra as a secret romantic, I'm torn whether to stick with my plan, or make a male human mage first and romance her!

If I do that, I'll make a female Qunari warrior as my second playthrough.

I will be a female Elf Mage for my first playthrough. Either Rift or Knight Enchanter mage specialization, leaning toward Rift because it sounds like it will have a lot of awesome spell graphics lol. My party in terms of skills will probably be: Iron Bull(For my tank), Varric/Sera(Rogue to open chests and doors), and Vivienne(Battle Mage).

Romancing either: Iron Bull(if there are no race restrictions) or Sera. Maybe Cassandra if they announce she is Bi.

I'll be going with male human warrior for my first playthrough, just like I did in Origins and DA2.  It's what I identify with the most, because I'm a male human and warrior is how I would play in reality.  For my second playthrough, I suppose it would depend on how the game goes the first time around, and then I'll decide.  I'll probably play as a male again, but not as a human or a warrior.

EDIT:  More specifically, I would probably play as a rogue my second time through, but it depends on how much it matters.  In Origins there were plenty of doors and chests to unlock and loot.  In DA2, there weren't as many so playing as a rogue was not as important as in Origins.

Male human mage. I think.

(Based on my primary world state import being female Warden and Hawke, and liking the look of DAI's mage.)

Then female Qunari warrior/rogue.

May depend on what kind of information is available in the DAI character creator as well re: background info for race/classes...

In no particular order:

Rogue Dual Wielding, human female
Mage, Qunari, Female
Warrior, qunari male (uncertain weapon)
Warrior, dwarf male, sword and shield

I'd like to see the elven model to determine my first class but it's leaning towards either Mage or Sword and shield warrior

Race: I'm definitely going elf for my first (and cannon) Inquisitor. Of course I will replay the game a couple of times to explore different outcomes and dialogues, but as a whole, I consider my first playthroughs to be cannon because of the element of surprise :P I'm a bit sad I won't be able to replicate a Circle Mage Elf like origins, but oh well, gotta learn to be a Dalish now.

Gender: Depending on whether Dorian is gay or not, pretty much. Whichever gender allows me to bang that cutie will suffice, although I prefer roleplaying a female. If Dorian is not a romance option, who knows :)

Class: Mage, forever mage, and only mage. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go for Knight Enchanter, since it sounds the most similar to Arcane Warrior, plus I like to be the support/defender/initiator of my party, a true leader. Since both my cannon Warden and my cannon Hawke are mages, I have this dream of creating legendary mage-figures across Thedas, so hopefully by the time DA: 5 comes, NPCs will be like "Wow, them mages are so cool and legendary"

Companions: So far Sera, Dorian and Iron Bull or Blackwall I think will frequent my roster, but I will try to, eventually, bring along all companions, especially in areas where I think they can contribute (e.g. bringing Vivienne and Dorian to the Winter Palace because they are good at social manouevres)

Canon Inquisitor will be a Female Dwarf rogue. Duel wield, specialization yet to be determined, but leaning toward Artificer. Focus mostly on Espionage. She will enjoy playing The Game while in Orlais. I plan to switch companions around to fit the situation. If possible, she will romance Varric, if not, well she will make that decision based on how she gets along with the LI's.

2nd Inquisitor will be Male Dalish (either rogue or mage) Romance Dorian (if available)

3rd Inquisitor Female Qunari Warrior (sword and shield). No idea on romance or companions as of yet...

I have played way more than enough humans....

Going to most likely do a female qunari mage/necromancer for my first playthough, though still unsure like to try everything at-least once to explore all options of romances, genders and classess, but that is what I am leaning to for my first playthough.

I'm going female human mage for my first playthrough, most likely. (Predictable, but the one I 'get in to' the easiest.)

This one will be chaotic neutral because my other canon characters were not. My Warden was a circle mage who resented the circle but saw it as the best solution at the time. She was always trying to figure out what was best for everybody and find the best solution, not the easiest. Hawke was sarcastic and a bit crude but was ultimately seeking the 'greater good' and didn't care about hurting a few people if that meant saving more in the long run.

My Inquisitor will have no interest in getting involved in any of this and will be quite selfish. She's seen enough of the world (at least I'm crossing my finger for apostate background) and is fed up with everybody and all the factions. If they want to tear themselves apart, so be it. Let them figure it out themselves because she didn't sign up to be a hero. (But possibly a slight change of heart near the very end. If she can be convinced.)

I'm head-cannoning so hard. It will probably have to change during the game depending on choices you can actually make, but here's to hoping it comes some-what close.

Female Elf probably blonde too, and I'll romance whichever guy I find more apealing personality wise if looks aren't that great.

I'm very tempted to make my second playthrough a female qunari. Either warrior or mage.

And she'll romance Cullen. The boy's life has generally been kinda crazy up to this point. His true love being a qunari is the best way I can think to top all his previous life experiences. lol

I will be a male qunari mage inquisitor. Every qunari, templar or chantry nut that get on my way will be fried away by my fireball.

Human female rogue, most likely. I might play a male if the beards are badass enough. :)

That's almost cruel, but I like it

My first quizzy will be a male Dalish rogue (archer) with the Tempest specialization. He will romance Cullen. If Cullen's not available to him, I will cry for three days and stop bathing or going outside for at least a week until a concerned friend or family member pays me a visit and initiates an intervention. I will then pick up the controller again and try for Blackwall. If Blackwall is unavailable, then I'll try for Iron Bull. If Iron Bull is unavailable, then I'm afraid my quizzy will be flying solo.

I think he will get on very well with Sera and Iron Bull, he'll respect Solas and Cassandra, and will dislike/distrust Vivienne and Dorian. (Note: That's just him; I like all characters.)

I do love rogues, but in this one I think my preferred protagonist will be a (female) qunari mage.` I like the idea of my inquisitor being appalled at how Circle mages complain about oppression when, from her point of view, the Circle is much better than having your mouth sewn shut.  I am hoping that she'll get the chance to be very anti-Qun and relatively pro-Circle.  :)

I love Elves so my first playthrough will be male Dalish mage with Knight Enchanter specialization. Anyone who opposes Elves and Mages will be sorry, he protect both with his life and kill anyone who stand in his way. Cassandra, Iron Bull, and Sera is going to be his most trusted followers. He will try to seduce Sera with no luck, rejection then will make him understand that you can't have everything. Templars and ex-Templars is already dead in his eyes, so Cullen will probably end up with no head!!!  :P

As is traditional, a male elf mercenary rogue for the first playthrough and an evil elf mage for the second playthrough.

In between I'll have a qunari warrior and dwarf rogue probably, maybe a human mage.

Thedas is going to suffer from its third evil mage in however many years. :/

Female qunari warrior.  Sword and shield, because I'm boring and swords are pretty.

Male Human, as for class I normally go for a Warrior class but I might actually go Mage this time because I think I want Cassandra and Iron Bull in my party.

I'm going to play a human female. I usually start out with a Mage character, but having done my second DA2 playthrough with a (de)ranged Thief, and loved it, I even might go with the latter, but it won't be a Warrior.

Why a female?
First: I'm a guy, and I love playing female characters. First of all I just love looking at women('s butts), even when they're just a bunch of (beautiful) pixels. I like looking at women more than watching guys.

Second: There are plenty of games starring a fixed (male) protagonist. Even when an opportunity arises to include the option of allowing to play as a female in a certain yearly returning series of open world games for which the latest upcoming edition is going to offer 4-player coop, they just restrict those 4 players to guys, because they're just lazy and think women/girls can't be cool enough (and make excuses for it costing too much resources otherwise).

Third: Since I'm already a guy in reallife, I can just do stuff differently, and play as a girl, do girly stuff like giggling and buying a lot of shoes (just kidding, I know not ALL women are like that! ;-) ).
But it's a game, it doesn't need to be overly realistic. I want to just walk around and explore stuff and having my char have her hair wearing down, even when it's not the most 'realistic' since it gets in the way.
I always play a female whenever the option is available, like all Bioware games, The Elder Scrolls, Tomb Raider... err any more options, besides MMO's?

EDIT: Why a human?
Well, I usually prefer plain old human female's looks over all the other options, even the elf's (yes even when I'm a human myself :-p ). When I would play as a dude I most certainly would pick either a dwarf or Qunari.

Female Dalish WarriorRougeMageWhatever who is perpetually angry and kinda not-so-secretly wants to kill all humans.

Why?  Because being a misanthrope is fun.
